Hot but a bit of rain

Hot today in Dallas. We got a very small amount of rain today.

Hilary was out looking for work. Jimmy had the day off.

I was taking a nap when Hilary came home from looking for work..Dar said she was in a bad mood..But.. I am not sure.. I do know.. Looking for work is a bitch..
I saw Hilary later watching a movie..and she seemed fine.

You know those pop up advs for the X10 cameras. I hate those..But I did order a package today. I am getting one X10 wireless color camera. When I get it.. I think I will add a second video at my web site. But I am not sure... I might have it just switch from camera to camera..But not sure.. If the camera works out OK later I will get one of their wide angel cameras and one of their very low light level cameras.

I am going to give Hilary $500.00 out of my next check..So I am not going to have much money to play with... But maybe I can get one camera a month.

I was running Camerades video today, and the CW video, and I see they have done away with the payment to WebCams. That was one of the few times I got any money from the Internet. I think.. I got about 100.00 over the months from them (total). I don't blame them.. I am sure they have problem.. meetning cost and the money they were paying out .. may mean the difference between going under and staying online. I do think they should have posted some information about the change however.. I had an idea .. that it was going to happen..

I have been playing a lot of "Age of Mythology" on the computer. It is just my sort of game. I need something sort of slow.. Give me time to think. Not good at those fast shoot em up games.

Hilary

Hilary was in a pretty good mood today. She got her paper work ready for job hunting. She is going to do that today. It is not going to be fun. Hunting for a job is hard work. She is not good at finding places plus it is very hot and the air conditioning, in her car, is not working.
She was working today on her web site: Merchantsplace.Com and on other things.

Jimmy worked today.

I went to the post office for Dar. Then late last night I went to BlockBuster and got some movies. I got "Final Destination 2", "Analyze That" and "Daredevil." "Analyze That" was for me and Russ wanted the other two.
"Analyze That" was good to very good.

I hope Hilary has a good day tomorrow. well it is 3 am now ..so it will be today.

Hilary Fired

The boss gave Hilary two weeks off for vacation. She went back today. He had told her today that she did not need to come to work until 2 pm. That was odd. She was thinking he was trying to give her extra time off.
Well when she got to work ..someone was at her desk. She was thinking they were going to give her a new office to work in away from all the traffic and stuff. He called her into the office and told her that she was fired. He said it was for business reasons.
He did not give her any extra pay or anything. She asked if she could work two weeks until she found a job someplace else. He said no.

Hilary drove around all day.. so depressed.. She also called on some places ...she has been trying to sell stuff to small shops. She already had printed up catalogs and stuff. But she.. came home and started crying.. She said the boss had fired a LOT of other people that way... But she did not think he would treat her that way...

About Schmidt

I just watched "About Schmidt" on tape. On the tape it says "Faced with the ambiguous nature of life after retirement, Warren Schmidt is forced upon the bumpy road to sell discovery." It has Jack Nicholson in it so you know it is good. It also has Kathy Bates in the movie. You got to see the movie just to see all of Kathy Bates.

I am getting ready to watch "Orange County" now.

Hilary is very depressed

Hilary is very depressed and Dar is worried about her. Hilary pays out a lot of money. One thing that has messed her up.. Most of the time..when you make a house payment..money goes into an account to pay taxes and insurance. Well not with this house. So Hilary is having to come up with tax money and insurance money. Plus she got behind in the taxes on the house and they had on a ton of fees and fines.
Dar pays out a lot of money and thinks that Hilary should have money left over...So it is sort of a mess.

Hilary goes back to work today. She has had two weeks off for vacation. I think work ...is thinking she wil come back all happy .. She is going back all depressed.. Not good. Hilary has spent the entire two weeks of vacation looking for someway to make a lot of money.. But it has been.. ten different ideas..She spent hours working on marketplaces.com and now she is talking about selling the domain name.

Jimmy has been driving the red car to work. Work is only a few blocks away. The car is going to die on him..one of these times.. And we wil end up with a tow bill for the car. Also if it breaks down in the wrong place and time..Someone might crash into the car.

I walked up to BlockBuster and got some movies. I also got food from KFC for us.

I watch "Gods and Generals" and it was OK. It is history and I know..civil war history.. So I know each of the people in the movie and what is going to happen.. A lot of the movie is about Stone Wall Jackson and I know what is going to happen to him and I know what his last words are going to be ...etc. For those young people that don't know history.. I don't think they will care.. It will be too long for them and not having a nude shower part tot he movie ..they will not be interested.. I guess..they could have put a rap music sound track in the movie and attempted to get the young people into the movie that way..

Well Hilary went to be very early tonight.. I am not sure if that is good or bad.. It maybe bad.. In that she has lost interest in things.. It may mean that she is depressed.. I would like to think that she wanted to get a good nights sleep before work..But I am sure that would just be wishful thinking on my part.

LaDawna my daughter in CA sent me an eMail. Her vacation is in the planning stage. But she thinks that her, and her husband, maybe here to visit on September 29th and they will stay a few days.

Well it is almost 3:30 am and I guess I will check and see if Dar needs anything before I go to bed. She has been getting boxes ready for me to take the post office. I am not sure if I am going Monday or Tuesday.

Check Here Early

I am very impressed with the Social Security people. I got my check early. It was for the full amount. I guess next month they will start taking out for Jimmy's school loan.
I gave Jimmy $500.00 out of the check. That was money that I oued him. It was 200.00 for his computer. It is paid for now. It was $50.00 for something, can't remember what that was for.. and then $250.00 for the monitor the other day.

I got Age of Mythology today. It is a great game. I am not into games. But I have been playing Age of Empires for months. I should have got it before. I did not think it would be this good. So you know what I am going to be doing.

Hilary has to go back to work on Monday. Her vacation will be over.

Hilary went and got a new printer. The one I gave her broke. We found a very small piece of metal. We have not idea where it came off the printer. But the printer does not work. So she got another one just like it.

I think I said the other day that D drive was not showing up on the Dell410. I forgot..that is where I have Linux installed. That is why it does not show up when I run windows. God I hope my mind is not going already. My kidney and uninary functions are going..Don't need my mind to go too. If I wet my pants.. At least it would be nice to know I am doing it. Getting old is so much fun.

Monitor to Cab Driver

I went to the post office for Dar. I gave the cab driver my broken monitor.

I am waiting for "Age of Mythology" to get here. I think it will get here today. I have been playing the trial version which you can download from their web site.

Russ is on his computer. Dar is on her computer. Hilary is on her computer. Jimmy is at work.

Jimmy took the red car to work. It is only a few blocks to work. I just hope when the car breaks down it is not in rush hour traffic and at a bad spot. If we have to have it towed..It is going to be a waste of money.

Sorry... problems..virus..etc..

Sorry that I have not posted here. You would not believe the week that I have had.. I got a virus on my computer. It came in via eMail, of course, and McAfee VirusScan found it and reported it. I told McAfee to delete the file. It did and I re-booted and it found the virus again and I told it to delete the file and it found it again.. but I did not pay attention to the file it was attacted to and I said kill the file. Well it was a file that was needed for Windows. In fact Windows would not even boot up without it.. So when I did a re-boot ..bang..out of luck.
So I had to re-format and I did re-format drive C:
Then I installed Windows and when I attempted to access certain web sites.. bang the computer would re-boot. I tried everything.. re-installing Windows. I installed Windows XP Professional, I installed Windows XP Home addition ... all sorts of things.. I also by error formatted drive D that I had everything backed up on.. all my files..programs that I had paid for.. well everything.
I pulled all the hardware out of the computer.. thinking maybe it was memory or video card.. trying different things.. No luck.
Just before I decided to junk the computer I pulled out the 65 gig hard drive and put in a 18 gig hard drive. The problem was gone. I am guessing that the virus wrote it's self to the MBR of the hard drive and in all the formatting that I did .. I did not re-write the MBR.

So I started to build up my computer again. only this time on the 18 gig hard drive.. Not knowing ..how I would find all my old user names, password, urls and programs.. Oh well.. What else could happen..

Well BANG.. my 19" monitor broke. I used the monitor for both computer.. I have a switch box. Well.. it was broke.. I hooked up a TV set so that I could get both computers up and running and make sure that the webcam was sending out video. But the video out put was so bad on the TV set that I could not read my eMail or surf the Internet.
OH one of the things I lost was the URL to post to this Diary/Blog/Journal. I just found it...
Back to the monitor.. Well.. I went a couple of days.. with no monitor.. I took some extra naps ..because I had nothing to do ..without Internet access. I was going to wait until I got my SS check on the 28th. Well today..I could wait no longer.. I got a loan from my son and we went out and got a monitor for me.
I got a Samsung 955DF monitor (it is 19" monitor). It looks very good. I hope it lasts.

So I am not starting to re-build my computer that had the virus. I just noticed the other computer, the Dell 410, the second hard drive is now showing. I have two 9 gig hard drives in that computer but only C drive is showing up. So that gives me something else to work on.. I got lots to keep me busy.

I am not sure what I am going to do about eMail. I am not going to put up with eMail virus again. I am thinking of using the Dell computer under Linux and do all eMail that way. Or I may just log into a web site to read eMail. The Internet is becoming a bitch.. with all the spam junk mail..the virus problems.. I don't know..

Well I went to the post office two times this week for Dar and I guess I will have to go tomorrow or Saturday and that will make three times this week.

Hilary had been doing great this week.. Not drinking near as much as I was fearing.. And no load music.. I think she has been getting some sleep..

Well I better end this.. and get back to working on my computer.. I guess you can tell ..I am not good at doing backup of data. I never have been.. never will be.. You would think I would learn.

W32/Spybot.worm.gen

Woke up to find a warning on my screen from McAfee that it had found a virus: W32/Spybot.worm.gen
Told it to kill it and it said it did. I ran the VirusScan, and it is still running, and it found it again..this time in explore.exe.
So I suspect I am going to have some problems. The scan is still going... I got a feeling when I re-boot ..I am going to have problems.
If I have to re-format because of this..I am going to start running Linux on one computer and I will do all my eMail on that computer.
