Darlene just keeps checking house after house after house, on the Internet, and sending me the listings to look at... Like this one: Corsicana TX
I told her she just needs to pick an AREA. Then pick a few that she likes in that AREA. Then go see them.. oh well....
She has been doing this for two or three days now.. looking at one after another on the Internet.

The house above does look interesting. I like that one view of the yard. I don't like the idea of a pool. I think they are a lot of work.

Hillsboro Texas

Darlene may get a house in Hillsboro, Texas. The town was recommended to her. I looked it up on the Internet and it looks interesting. It is South of Dallas about 50 miles. It is about 50 miles from Fort Worth and 33 miles from Waco.
Town only has about 8000 people that live in the town. There is a state park about 16 miles away. The state park has a big lake.

Well I think I will move this TV, VCR and CD player off my desk. It will give me room to lay out papers and notes when I am working on web pages.

I also am thinking about installing a REALmagic card that I have here.. Not sure why.. But I would like to see if it will make any difference on DVD playing. I hope I don't mess anything up.. Oh well..

Labor Day

I went to the post office for Darlene and the bank for Jimmy. I took a cab. That cost $23.00 for the trip.

Jimmy is at work. He gave two weeks notice.

It is almost 1 pm here and I am the only one awake. Dar, Hilary and Russ are all sleeping. Of course they were all up ..all night..

Labor Day will be Monday. Not sure..many people even know what it means or anything..All they know is that they have the day off. I blame the Trade Union people for that.. It is a shame that they did not get the word out .. but they did not.. Not sure what they spent the union dues for.. But.. They spent it in the wrong way.. That is for sure..
When I was in school I can remember doing a term paper on General Grant and General Howard. (I picked General Howard of course because of my name.) Kids should be doing term papers on union leaders, on men and events in the history of the Trade Union movement. Unions should buy books, each year, and donate the books to the schools. They should have awards for the best book, the best newspaper report, the best movie, the best TV show, the best radio show etc. Each year.. they should have the awards and they should be on TV. True your not going to have some woman union leader from the UAW get up to accept an award and have her looking like a movie star.. But you would have the stars there to present the awards. Also they should be money awards. You know.. $25K for this years best newspaper report about unions etc.
They should have a cable TV channel for and about unions. Sure..you would put on other stuff.. But ... you would cover.. union meetings and stuff like that.. Sort of a C-Span of unions.
A union or a group of them should buy or start a movie/tv company. They should make movies and TV shows. I have seen TV shows on every subject...I am talking about weekly shows.. I don't remember any show where the man or woman was a union member. I don't remember any show were the hero was a union organizer or anything like that.. Yes..there are a few movies like that.. But I don't remember a TV show.

Oh well enjoy Labor Day...remember that it is because of Trade Unions that you have an 8 hour work day, an 40 hour work week, time and half for over time work and so much more... Remember

I don't believe everything.. but even if 5% of it is true.. I would not want to live in the city. You have to read between the lines and take it with a grain of salt ...but.. We will not be looking at a house in that town. If the stuff she says about the police is not true.. Then I would not want to be living in a town of 2000 with her and her friends.
Best that we look someplace else.

Rockwall Texas

Darlene is checking on a house in Rockwall, Texas. I did some checking on the Internet. They do have cable modem service and cable TV. We may know more tomorrow.
Jimmy gave two weeks notice at work.

I paid the cell phone bill today. It was 82.00 for the month. I have cancelled the Internet service on the cell phone (only $15.00). I hope the bill goes down some..that is too much money.

Well I can not afford the ham radio that I want this month. Maybe I can afford it next month.

I have to go to the post office tomorrow for Darlene. I will also go by the bank and deposit two of Jimmy's checks.

No use to tell you any more about Rockwall Texas until we see if Darlene can get a loan on the house and until she checks it out.

Going to 18th and Vine

We are going to have to move for sure. Jimmy wants to move back to Kansas City. He has friends in Kansas City. Darlene does not want to move that far. Also Darlene had lots of problems in Kansas City and going back with bring back the memory of those times...
Darlene wants to know ..what I think...I want Jimmy to be happy and have friends..But I fear going to Kansas City might be bad for Darlene.
I don't see any reason for someone to live in Texas. Well I have not seen all of Texas. This is a big state so maybe someplace there is something for people to like.. But.. the weather is bad.. It is HOT. A number of people have told me.. Oh ...FL is just so hot.. Sorry.. The weather I have seen here.. it is just plain hot 24 hours a day. In FL I worked out side 12 hour shifts during the day time. Yes..it was hot ..But you would get rain each day and that would cool things down. Also it would cool down at night.. It is hot here, in Texas, day and night.
Darlene likes the change of weather in Kansas City. Of course she never had to get out in the ice and snow and work. Trying to get your car to start when it is 20 below zero is no fun.

I do not know where we are going to end up living. Darlene wants a house.

I gave Hilary $500.00 and I hope she is going to get those two teeth taken care of... Hilary is so much in debt and behind ...that ... $500.00 is just a drop in the bucket..But if she gets her two teeth fixed..at least she will not have that pain.
Darlene is upset with me for giving Hilary $500.00 ... Darlene seems to think that Hilary has a lot of money.. But Hilary has been paying $1500.00 a month on the house plus taxes and plus insurance and she got behind in the taxes and insurance...and has been paying interests and fees..So Hilary's money has gone to try and get even.... Now that she lost her job.. She is falling faster and faster behind.

This house is in Hilary name.. Darlene wants a house in her name and one that she can make the payments on.. Darlene is thinking $800.00 a month or maybe $900.00 a month with the taxes and insurance in that amount.

I guess I should be telling Darlene to move to Kansas City... I could go to the boats and gamble. They don't allow cameras in the casinos ..so I could not get any photos for the webcam or the web site...sorry...

Jimmy and I went to the store. Jimmy spent about $60.00 on food, Dar's money, and I spent about $80.00 on food. I attempted to get some fruit and and passed up all the high salt junk food.. Hard to pass that stuff up...

I have set a rule for myselt to try and drink some water. It is rare for me to drink water. I also have set a rule for me to not drink Coke between midnight and noon. That gives me 12 hours to get my fill of Coke.
I have not been walking to the post office because of the high heat. I think walking was good for me.

My feet were not swelling so much for a week or so..but a few days ago I went to the store and got all sorts of high salt content junk food and was eating that stuff like crazy. My feel were swelling so much..that it felt like the skin on my feet was going to rip open. Also my legs were swelling..up to right below the knee. That put a bit of fear into me.. So.. I am going to try and do a little better.

I ran ChillCAM today. That is a nice webcam program. I am not sure..what the story is with the author however.. Hell of a nice guy.. I paid for the single camera version and then I paid for the multi-cam version. I maybe the only person to buy the multi-cam program. Anyway..he was real nice.. sent me beta releases of the program. Then.. on the day of the release of the final program..he contacted me.. told me he would send me the final version of the multi-cam version later in the day.. Never heard from him..After a few days..sent eMails.. no reply.. attempted all his eMails.. nothing..Well that was a few years ago.. His web page is still up and running..But nothing has changed or been updated..It is like it is frozen in time. Not sure what happened. I don't care about the program.. I just wonder what happened to the guy.. Did he drop over dead...Did he get arrested... Not sure..

If your into webcams then most of you know about the WebCam32 program...Well I was the first person to pay the author for the program. I sent him the money thru the US mail. When he got home ..that day..and got the money.. I guess he must have told his wife..Something to the effect..hay..I got paid for all that work I did or something to that effect.. And he took her to the computer to show the first site to pay him money for the program. He told me..that he went to my site, with his wife at his side, and there I was nude in front of the camera. He laughed about it and his wife was not upset.
He was a hell of a nice guy and did an excellent job on the program and you could recommend stuff and he would add it to the program. He sold the program to a company and I guess is living on the beach someplace...Glad for him.. That was years ago and I don't think the have made any changes to WebCAM32 since he sold it to them.

I had a dream last night that I was mayor of some very small town..and I had ... meetings ..all lined up...and was busy..and there were problems.. I can not remember all the details..except..It was a lot of stress and work.. Not fair.. I am retired and not working..but I dream about working and feel like I am working.. oh well.. I am going to bed.. I hope instead of a workdream ..I have a nice sex dream.

Migrated

I sure get tired of my web sites being "migrated" to other servers. Seems like IP numbers and things are being changed all the time. Maybe it is because I have about three hosting services. It seems like I have more than that..because I have a number of domain names. It is a real pain.
I am not sure if these changes are for security reasons or if the company sells out to some other company or if they just upgrade to bigger and faster servers..Not sure..
Well anyway...right now... www.hnb1982.com is down ...
My guess is that it is down due to the notice that I received on August 24th. It said the move was to begin on that date and that I would receive an eMail when it was complete. No eMail yet.. Of course.. the eMail would be sent to jhoward@hnb1982.com
If you have a web site setup and use a hosting company.. I would like to make a recommendation to you.. Have your eMail for it and for updating it and everthing someplace else.. someplace that will not change and that you can depend on. I used to own the domain name of howard.net and I sold it. (I sold it for $10,000.00 so that was the good part.) Well I had used the eMail address of jhoward@howard.net as the eMail address for hnbbs.net and a few other places. Well I did not get notices when hnbbs.net was due for renewal. Plus.. when I found out.. I could not renew it.. they kept sending eMails to the howard.net eMail addresss. It was a bitch and I ended up losing the domain name of hnbbs.net. I think someone in China owns it now.
What is sad is that a few years before I sold howard.net for $10K. I sold hnb.com for $500.00 and I bet it is worth half a million or more. Oh well..

Well... Darlene is looking for houses.. Well not going to them and looking..but calling on the phone and looking in the newspaper. She is leaning towards getting a older house that cost less.
I would like to see is move someplace different. If we have to move..then move someplace that.. has something to offer..At least that way...we would maybe say ...well this is nice or this is better..
I would like to move to FL. If we have to live in Texas then.. I would like to be in Austin or San Antonio.
My fear is that we are going to end up here in the Dallas area in a smaller house and not as nice an area. We will end up with a loss. If we moved to some small town someplace ..it could be a plus. We can live anyplace, well that we can afford. I do not have to drive to work for the first time in my life. Darlene can make her money on the Internet. So we could live in Arkansas or South Missouri. There are some great places with great views of hills and stuff like that.. There are places that when your heading some place and driving ...you drive thru the area and say..wow..what a neat place or how pretty...Well now we could live in a place like that... Often, I think, the houses are cheap there because there is no close by work and people do not want to drive a long way to work.

It would be nice, for me, to live someplace were there is a nudist camp close by and were I lived on top of a hill, for the view and ham radio, and would love to have a place were I could gamble. We need high speed Internet access however..it is a must.
I used to have the one way satellite dish Internet service and it sucked. Anyone use the two way dish Internet service? Anyone using it were you have a net work of computers setup? What about cost and how well does it work for you? Russ and Jimmy want to play games online and I understand it is not good for that due to the delay.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong with TypePad ...but I am having problems with my HamLog. I am thinking of using one of my PHP-Nuke sites for my ham page.

Turned Down for Garland

Darlene just got a call from the woman with the house in Garland. The lady turned us down for the house. We think it is because of Darlene's health. When Darlene looked at the house the woman made comments about her health and how hard it was for Darlene to get around.
Also Darlene said that the woman helped her get into Hilary's car and she thinks the woman did not like the look of the car and the mess on the seats and floor. Hilary had a bunch of stuff in the car that she had taken to the fea market.
The woman ran a credit check and said that there were two eviction notices on Jimmy in FL for 1996. Well Jimmy and I were NOT in FL in 1996. We did not go to FL until 2000. Also we have never had an eviction notice.
The woman also said she had a male buyer for the house.

This was not good news... mostly because... Darlene is now worrying. Jimmy is a bit upset...feeling gulity about the information on his credit report. Hilary over heard Dar comment about her car...Dar says a lot of stuff like that...that Hilary can hear.. Darlene does not function well when she is upset and worrying. Hilary is under a great deal of stress and worry and she has a tooth that is killing her..plus she has got a bite on her leg that she is worrying about. She is not sure what bit her.

That house was very small for this family but it was close to stores and shopping centers. Hilary has a car but the rest of us don't have a running car at this time. We are in the position of ... needing a car..but if we get a car..we can't afford to get a house...Without a car it is very hard to find a house...
That house would have been very good for us..since it was very close to shopping centers.

Darlene is looking for an asumable loan. There are a number of reasons for that.. the main reason is that.. Darlene just started making good money via the Internet after Jimmy and I moved here. We go to the post office for her and everything. Darlene has good credit but not a long track record of income.
I can help Darlene with a house payment because I have my retirement of $1150.00 a month. I don't oue any money except for my cell phone and what I spend on the Internet stuff. I do not have good credit because of two school loans (Jimmy's school loans) that I did not pay. My credit report sends off red flags and warning signals.
Jimmy does not have much of an income. He works but does not make much money. He has zero bills. Does not have to make any payments to anyone. He does not have much of a credit record but he has his two school loans that show up on his credit report. He did pay them off. But he paid them off very late and after it was turned over to a collection agency and that is a red flag.

Jimmy had four school loans to make it thru computer and electronics school. He took out two and I took out two for him.

I think Darlene is mainly trying to find an asumable loan. She knows we can make the payments. We have the income.

One thing we have going for us...is that we can live anyplace. We can move anyplace. Darlene can do her Internet stuff and make money anyplace..as long as she has high speed Internet access. I will get my retirement money no matter where I am at..Jimmy's job is just fast food and he does not make much ..so he can work anyplace.. Oh we need access to a post office. But we can move anyplace.
Now.. since we don't have a car ...that makes it hard to look at houses. That would also make it hard to pick a house in some other part of the United States.

I have not been around the United States much... But I love the ocean and I loved FL. I went thru Titiusville a few times on the way to a nude beach. I love TitiusVille and would love to live there... We have family in CA but that cost too much.
I like the idea of living in Las Vegas. I like to gamble. I think I could control myself... I think... But I think..that it might not be good for Jimmy to be in Las Vegas.
I hate the winter. I like to live where it is warm. Darlene likes winter weather. She is correct that if you don't have to get out in the weather it is not too bad. But I spent years out driving thru the ice and snow. When I was a Raymore police officer I would be out on the roads and I would be the only car on the road. You still have to patrol and respond to calls. When I worked hospital security.. I don't know how many cars that I had to jump start in very cold weather. I don't know how many people that I had to help get into cars were the doors and locks were frozen. I remember one time I had to drive from Belton Missouri to downtown Kansas City Missouri. I had to be at court on an someone that I had arrested. Well.. it was a major storm. As I drove down 71 highway cars were sliding off the highway. I got all the way downtown and they had cancelled court due to the storm. I just hate that sort of weather.

I guess we will not be living in Garland. I did not know anything about Garland. I know a little about Garland now since looking up stuff about it on the Internet.

Carrollton Officer Shot

I don't comment, much, about local news. But I was reading the newspaper and saw were a Carrollton man was arraigned on charges of attempted capital murder. He shot a Carrollton police officer during a drug raid. The 20 year old was also charged with possession of marijuana. He is being held in jail on a bond of $515,000 dollars (yes half a million dollars). The police officer is still in the hospital with a "graze wound" to the head and a broken wrist.
The police officer suffered the injuries as a "tactical team" served a narcotics search warrant at Trinity Mills Apartment in Carrollton, Texas.
OK keep in mind that I was a police officer for about 10 years. Keep in mind that I was also a hospital security officer for about 30 years. I have been shot at before. I have had two close friends, fellow security officers, that I worked with shot. One was killed. The other was hurt very bad. Well I have had other officers that I worked with and knew shot also..come to think of it.. Now...having said that...
I do NOT know the details of this "tactical" raid. But I have a real problem with police dressed in black..with mask on...making raids..in the middle of the night. Again.. I do NOT know the details of this "tactical" team raid.
What do I guess... I bet the Carrollton police got some teenager one day and found marijuana on him. So they try and scare the hell out of the kid and tell him he is going to grow old in jail and get fucked up the ass in jail UNLESS he can help them get some other person with marijuana ... So he agrees..They set it up were he buys from this other kid. The police do it a number of times.. take photos and all sorts of stuff like that... spend a lot of time and money and man power on it... OK.. my guess.. is that they get a team of 10 officers or so many dressed in black..with mask on.. many or most not even looking like police.. and they race over to the apartment...I bet in the middle of night... smash down the door.. and rush in..and my guess is the 20 year old shoots at an officer.
Now ..remember.. we are talking about marijuana...Also..let me say..I am 62 years old.. I have never..not one time..never ever smoked marijuana or taken any other drug.
I just have a problem with all the police raids.. and the way they do them.. Again I do not know the details of this case.. But I think uniform officers could have gone to the place.. They could have knocked on the door and maybe at the same time.. called the phone inside..and ...said... "CARROLLTON POLICE" open the door and open it now.
I bet the officer would not have been shot. Would the kid attempted to flush the drugs.. Maybe..

You would think.. with my background that I would watch some of the real life police shows on TV..No.. I can not stand to see ...the way ..the police department has turned into masked military units.

Now on the plus side...for the police.. From what I have seen of the Carrollton police they look very professional. I can not say the same for the Dallas police.
Also.. the Carrollton police should get a lot of credit for not killing the kid at the house. When he fired on a police officer.. It is a wonder they did not blast the hell out of him.

OutLook Express

I have used OutLook Express for a long time. I like the program. It seems, to me, to just be setup so that it works well for me. But the virus problem is getting to be just too much.. the mail virus just love OutLook Express and the OutLook Express Address book.
Over the years I have used other mail programs.

I paid for Eudora and have used it. You can use the free version with the ads. They are not bad at all. But I paid the $40.00 for the pay version. I do not know why.. but the program does not impress me.

I used the Pegasus program. It is free. It just did not have the feel that I wanted. One problem maybe that I have a number of eMail accounts. I need one program to take care of all of them.

I used PocoMail but do not remember anything about it. I just don't use it.. and I guess that says something.

Incredimail is one that I have been using. It is free but you can also pay for some extra functions. I paid for the program. I like the program. It is flashy. It has lots of animations and sounds. But it just does not suit me for some reason. I bet many people would love this program however..

I just installed The Bat on my computer. I used it in the past. But I wanted to see what it was like again.. So I am giving it a try. It is free to try for 30 days and then you have to pay $25.00 for the program.

Well guess I will check out The Bat and see what I think about it.
