HNBBS.NET

Those of you that have been with me over the years will remember that I lost the domain name of HNBBS.NET. I did not renew it in time. They had the wrong eMail address for me. HNBBS.NET sort of goes along with HNBBS.COM. Well HNBBS.NET is free now and I just signed up for it again. So I am in the process of getting it.
I would like to make HNBBS.NET a mirror of HNBBS.COM. Anyone have any idea how I can do that without me having to do it all by hand. Need some auto way to keep both sites the same. There must be some easy way to do it.

The real estate guy is coming over tomorrow to check on some paper work. He is going to look at Dar's bank statements and stuff like that.
Dar asked Jimmy to cut the grass in the front of the house. Dar is cleaning the house a bit.
Dar is singing and in a great mood.

Jimmy got back from talking to a girl that he likes. She is from Pakistan. She said she could only marry a Muslin man. Jimmy is willing to become a Muslin. She took the cell phone number and said she would call him.

We can not go to the movie today. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We have not been to this movie theather. I guess it is dinner and a movie. They have table setup and you eat and watch the movie. Not sure how that would work out and I wonder..about the cost of the entire movie.

I am still trying to get all domain names switched over to GoDaddy so they are the domain registration site. Right now they are working on HNB1982.COM and after that I think I only have a few and then they will all be in the same place.

Well back to working on the web sites.

Last Day of September

This month should bring change here. This month we maybe moved 60 miles South of Dallas. I better hurry up and check and see who is using jim.howard@attbi.com and jim.howard@comcast.net as eMails for me. Because I will not have them after we move.
Darlene is acting real strange. Well not strange for her but this is a bad time for her to start having problems.
Hilary is only interested in being in front of her webcam and is not working. This is the first time I can remember her not working.
Jimmy, I think, feels that if he moves to a small town that he will never find a girl friend. Everything is a big mess.
Darlene is not only depressed but being a real pain right now. Well what do you expect from an ex-wife.

I am starting to wonder what it will be like in the new house. This house has two floors. Darlene never comes down here. In the new house we will all be on the same level.

Today.. I called the cab driver and asked him to pick me up at 2:15 pm. He works the midnight shift..So I think he went to bed early so he could wake up. I picked 2:15 because Jimmy wants to go What-A-Burger and talk to a girl that he likes. He is going to tell her that he is moving to Hillsboro and ask her to go with him. I will drop him off and then go on to the post office.

Tomorrow I will get my $175.00 retirement pay from Health Midwest. I sure hated that company. I love the idea of getting money from them each month. It is not much.. But I would have hated to retire after 18 years with them and not get anything.

We may walk down to a movie today.
I better take a shower and get ready for today.. What will happen today?

USB 2.0

I use a lot of USB devices. I run a webcam, scanner, printer, usb sound device and I might have forgot a device or two. I have a 2.0 hub hooked up. In the past I would get a notice that it was a 2.0 hub but my computer did not support 2.0 usb.
I just walked up to Wal-Mart and got a Belkin "Hi-Speed USB 2.0 5-port PCI Card." It will let me add 5 enhanced USB 480 Mbps ports to my computer. I read the user manual, something most of the times I don't do, and I found out something that I did not know. I am running Widows XP and I have support for USB 2.0 IF I have Windows XP Service Pack 1 installed. I do not have it installed.
The Belkin card came with a CD. I was wondering why I needed a CD. From the manual I found out that I can install there driver in place of the XP driver.
Well I followed directions in the manual and it appears that I have USB 2.0 now for my computer. When I re-booted and hooked the 2.0 hub that I own.. it showed up as a 2.0 hub.
I went to the device settings ...and the device is listed.. I did not see anything..jumping out in my face and saying 2.0 but everything appears to be working.

I fired up Camarades video to see what would happen. Right away I had four people watching my video and they were getting 9 to 10 fps. Before.. I think most people got 5 to 7 fps.
Then I turned on the Windows Task Manger and checked the CPU Usage. Camarades, in the past, has been a big hog of CPU. With it running my CPU usage would be 70 or 80%. It was now 40 to 45%.
So I think this new card is going to work for me and I think I have USB 2.0 on my computer. They say that their USB is "hi-speed" and is 10% faster than existing USB 2.0.
There is a major improvement over USB 1.1 I will tell you for sure.

Jimmy and I walked to Wal-Mart. We got something to eat at I-Hop.

Jimmy is going tomorrow to tell a girl, that he likes, that he is moving. He is going to see if she wants to go with him. I do not think she is that interested in him. He says that she has said that she loves him.. But..I just do not think she is interested in him. I think Jimmy thinks ..that if he goes to a small town that he can't find a girl.

I got to go to the post office tomorrow for Dar. I think Jimmy, Russ and I may walk to the movies. There are three movies out that I want to see.

I got a lot of data moved over from the old web site to the new one. I still got to get some more information over.

PHP-Nuke Topics

I am working on my web site today. I am working with the PHP-Nuke Topics for one thing. I need to get better and doing GIF and JPG files. That is a big part of having a web site. I just know the very basic parts of getting the job done.

Today is Sunday here in Texas. Nice day and would be a good day to go to the state fair. But not going to make it today.

Guess I will get back to working on my web site.

Jerry Springer

Darlene is depressed. Jimmy is worrying about her. I am worrying about both of them.

The guy from Holland left today. He did not see much of America or Texas. I only saw him two times.. a few minutes after he got here and he said good by when he left.

I ordered $35.00 worth of Chinese food. Hilary and the visitor left about the time it got here. To get to the airport early. When Hilary came back she said they could not find anything to eat and he had to get food out of a vending machine.
We got a lot of Chinese food left over.

Jimmy said that Darlene said she was very tired. She had been staying up all night.. and sleeping some during the day. I think she needs normal regular hours of sleep. Jimmy said he told her that..
Also people that suffer from depression are tired. I think I was born tired.. and have been tired all my life.. oh well.

When Hilary was at the airport she got a call from a staff member of the Jerry Springer Show. Darlene took the call and the phone number. I said "OH NO" and Darlene said.. what..I said.. not good.. Darlene said..no one watchs that show.. I said.. oh YES people do ...a lot of people..
When Jimmy heard.. he said..OH NO..
When Hilary got home she called and talk to the staff member. Hilary was all excited. All I can think is "OH NO" ...

I been eating too much junk today.. I feel a bit sick.. I been eating some candy and donuts.. Hilary said the guy from Holland did not know what donuts were..She said.. that he was surprised that that stores were open 24 hours a day. She said he was surprised how big the drinks were when they went out to eat.
Not sure if they were having a communications problem or not... If not.. sounds like I need to stay away from a country that does not even know what donuts are.... etc.

Today I did everything I could think of to get the old Howard's Notebook back online. I even installed a new copy of PHP-Nuke in a new directory. But I still attempted to use the old mySQL database. Well I had the same problem.. So I think the mySQL database is messed up.

Indian Restaurant

I got to the restaurant at 11 am. They were just open. I had to wait for them to get the stuff all out. They were out of regular Coke and I had to take diet Coke.
The people were real nice. I guess it was the owner. He helped me get the food. Told me what it was and how to eat it. Where to dip the bread and stuff. Very nice guy.
The chicken curry was wonder. It was a bit spicy but I loved it. There were two types of bread. One looked like a plain donut. I could not get used to it.. It looked so much like a donut. The other bread was like a mexican shell or wrap. I put some curry in it. That was very good. He said that bread is baked in a stone oven. I think he said on the side of the wall of the oven.
I had some soup that was very good. Again.. a bit spicy but very good.
The cost of the mean was $3.99 ...yes.. But I got an order to take home of the curry and bread for Dar. So it all came to $12.00 and I gave a $5.00 tip.
I was in there for about an hour and only one couple came in.. An Idian man...He was with a woman and I suspect the are co-workers. He was telling her about the food.
I took the curry home to Dar. She did not like it all that much. I guess she does not like spicy food. I should have got an order of chicken for her but I suspect she would have said that she liked KFC better.

Jimmy called a guy he used to work with and they are going out to a bar. I worry about that.. He is 27 and not a drinker...But I had a cousin shot and killed in the parking lot of a Dallas bar years ago.

Indian Restaurant

Jimmy was talking about doing a blog. Might be a good way for him to meet some nice people.

He is going to post photos of himself. He is going to try some body building and use the site as a way for him and others to see what progress he makes.

I am going to walk up and get something to eat in about 30 minutes. No one wants to go with me. There is a new Indian restaurant open near us. I have never had Indian food. A Indian man, that I know, says that the owner of the restaurant is from South India and that they server North Indian food. This friend says that there are 3 major types of Indian food (North, Central and South).
But I have never had Indian food and am looking forward to giving the place a try. When I mention Indian food to Jimmy or Russell they are not interested.

Anger Management - again

Dar, Jimmy and I watched "Anger Management." I had seen it the night before. We watched it on the big screen. Dar laughed a number of times during the film. After the film... Jimmy and Dar said they did not think it was a very good film.
I did not expect anything great from the film. I just felt it was all fun.

Jimmy and I walked up and returned the two DVDs about 10:30 pm.

It is 3 am now.. I hear Hilary.. she is still awake. Jimmy has been sleeping for hours. Dar was awake about 2 am. I am not sure now.. I am down stairs. Russ is sleeping. I am not sure what time he went to bed.. I think he will wake up in an hour or two.

There is always someone awake at this house.

I made a little web page for a friend. Troy is the friend and he is in Kansas City.

Darlene thinks that we maybe in the new house..sometime after October 15th. That is not that far off.. She is going to call some moving places and see what they charge.

My nose has been brothering me.. and my eyes.. I think Hilary is smoking up a storm in her room. Jimmy goes out side to smoke.
When Hilary was working..I would turn up the down stairs air conditioner to 80 or so.. but with her home and in her room with the door closed all the time.. she has been running the air.. and it is cold in my part of the down stairs. I even closed the vent on my air and still cold.

When we move to the new house it will only be one level and I am sure just has one air unit. I will have my own bedroom..so maybe I can close the door and close the vents or whatever ... Dar and Hilary keep the house too cold for me.

Darlene is worrying about money.. She said today..that she was planning on not having a phone and just using my cell phone. I told her..You have to have a phone to have DSL. Plus.. there is no point in having a cell phone if you have to leave it at home for emergency ... or if you can't call home or be called from home. She says the phone bill here, which she pays, is $70.00 a month. There are no extra features on the phone. She says the long distance does not run the bill up.. But I do know that she talks long distance on the phone. Not sure why her bill is so high.

Hilary friend is going to return to Holland on Friday. I have only seen him one time since he got here. I have seen more of Hilary than normal. She has been going up stairs to get coffee. I guess he drinks coffee.

Well it is 3:30 am and time for me to go to bed.

EarthLink DSL

I had left a request on EarthLink DSL site for information about DSL in Hillsboro Texas. They called today and said that they did offer DSL at that address. Well our loan has not gone thru yet but we signed up for the DSL service. They said it would take 3 weeks and they had a special in effect.
So we are going to get DSL for 3 months at 21.95 and then after that it will be $49.95 a month. The Internet speed will be 1.5M down (maybe only 768K down) and 128K up. That is much slower than what we get here on cable.

I hope we get the loan OK. I hope they don't mail the modem to the address before we get moved into the house. Russell is not happy with the Internet speed. He is wanting satellite Internet service. I found that out after we ordered the DSL service.

Jimmy and I walked down and had some Texas Bar-B-Q. It was pretty good. Not as good as Kansas City Bar-B-Q however.

I gave Dar $245.00 and Hilary $100.00 out of my SS check. Jimmy gets $100.00 for his birthday.
