Maybe Monday

Ken wants to check, this weekend, on four other apartments. If it looks however we will send our applications on Monday to a place. We should be approved and we hope to move in on the 15th of February.
The place is 30 miles from Haulover Beach. It is 4.82 miles to MIA. It is 13 miles to a large library.
The apartments are very close to the U. of Miami. I expect there will be a lot of college students living in the apartment.
Soon as we apply and are approved I will give more information.

I am looking forward to getting down to FL. I know Ken is looking forward to it. I think Ken is going to get 6 inchs of ice and snow today in Kansas City and I think the same tomorrow.

Everglades Diary

I just added a link to a site called the Everglades Diary. You will find the link on the left side here.
What a great site and what a wonderful idea. Now that is just what I want to do for the beaches in and around Miami when I get down there.
I hope I can do half as well as he is doing with his site. I sort of started the project.. I got some information on Howard's Notebook but I plan to set it up .. sort of like what he has it setup.. So I will be checking out his site and trying to get some ideas..

I would like to see more people doing stuff like that on the Internet. It does not have to be about places ...it could be about.. working with your computer or working with Linux or projects .. I got a friend, Roger, and he is very good at computers.. and he will work on a small problem and keep working until he fixed it.. no matter how long it takes and he checks out everything.. He is into Linux and gets into the hardware and software. Well he does all that work.. and finds out all the stuff.. But then that is the end of it.. I been begging him to do a blog or something and set down his work and effort.. Then others could do a search and find the answers.. He will not do it.. Oh well..
Someone else that puts out one hell of a blog is Dick with his The Slip Seat Diary. Not only is there great information in there but it is a story at the same time. You take a trip with him.. you learn.. Hell if I were a "slip seat" driver I would be taking notes. His blog/diary should be a college credit course.
I wish more people would do stuff like that.. I am sure there are more out there.. I hope I find them... I wish I had more time to read them.

MyDoom and Microsoft

I guess the name of the virus is "MyDoom" or something like that.. I have not been keeping up on it.. I got so much going on with my life right now.
If someone wants to work up a smile HTML page or even a text page on it.. You know... what it is.. how to detect ...how to delete..how to prevent.. url of help locations and stuff like that..
I have done that in the past with virus problems..not sure I will have time right now... anyway.. if you want to work up something..

My recommendation is keep it simple. I would just like to be a place that could help someone find the help they need.

Doom Virus and HotMail

I hate to admit this..but I do like OutLook Express. I have used it for years. I also have paid for and own other EMail programs. IncrediMail is also a nice program and fun to use and play with..But OutLook Express is the program that I like best.
As you all know.. lots of the virus programs out there are aimed at Windows and at OutLook Express. I run virus detection program etc. But I get tired of the attacks on Windows and OutLook Express. I keep saying that I am going to run Linux just to get away from all of this crap.

Well anyway... I am getting so many of the Doom Virus each day in my Email that I went to getting my mail off the web and not running OutLook Express. If your getting your mail from one of the web sites..then ..I suspect your OK. I mean a site like HotMail.Com etc.

HotMail.Com is free I think.. hay how about someone doing a review and list of free web based eMail providers. Type it up and send it to me...and I will make it an article and file on Howard's Notebook that we put a link to and help everyone out.

If any of you need to start getting your eMail via the Web and NOT via OutLook Express or some other POP mail program due to the virus problems..
You can give CQ CQ de NØUWY a try. (That is my ham radio web site.) You will need to become a member there.. membership is 100% free. Then you will see "Your Account" and then pick WebMail. You will then need to enter the POP mail server. It might be something like: mail.myinternetprover.com or something like that...you will need to enter your email address for that pop server. It maybe that myname will not work..you may need to enter myname@myinternetprover.com and you will need the password.
Then you can log onto CQ CQ de N0UWY and read and send your eMail from that location.
If some of you need a pop email address that you can use to get eMail.. let me know..I will set you up...if you sign on as a member.. I can set you up with an eMail account of username@hnbbs.com
I have not test all of this yet..so.. the first couple of you are going to be test cases. SMILE.

No Word on an Apartment

Ken had some dental work done today and could not talk on the telephone. So we are still on hold about an apartment. (17 days until I have to be out of here.)
A fan in Florida is going to check with some of his friends and contacts and he thinks he can find a place that I can rent by the week. I will need to rent something until we can get into the apartment. I am not sure if we can get an apartment in 17 days or if we have to wait until March 1st.

Dick sent me information about auto drive away places. If Jimmy and I were both going ..that might be a real good deal. Just for myself.. well..it would be about the same price to fly and much faster. But if I go a car to drive down..I could put all my stuff in the car. I am only going to have two computers, one monitor and a small box or two and a suitcase and bag. Not very much stuff. I am going to leave my TV, VCR, DVD player for Jimmy. He will also have my computer desks and desk chair.
So I will not have very much to take with me.

I am going to need a swim suit when I get to FL. Do those ones that pass the sun rays thru them work?
I am going to the nude beach but I am going to other beaches.

Sunset Bay Apartments

I had someone eMail and say that they did not think the person that made the comments about the Sunset Bay Apartments was for real. The person that sent the eMail was thinking what are the odds that a person from there would happen to find my blog.
Well what they don't understand and many of you don't understand is.. that this site gets indexed by Google and others and that we turn up on the top of the Google search many times.

If you do a search right now using Google.Com and enter "Sunset Bay Apartments" we show up as number 1 and 2 at the top of the list.
Now if you read this a week from now or a month from now.. we may not show up at the top of the list.

Doom virus

I am getting hit with the Doom virus. My virus detection program is taking care of the problem. But if your using OutLook Express or IncrediMail or programs like that...were you get your eMail via POP accounts..you had better have virus detection and you had better look to your security.
It is so bad that I am going to getting all my mail off the web and giving up, at least for now, on using OutLook Express or IncrediMail. I love those programs..but this is just a mess..
I have made up my mind.. very soon.. I am going to setup a computer using Linux to surf and do eMail. I have had it with all these virus problems.. most of them aimed at Windows and our OutLook express. I have said it before... But I mean it this time.

I went and had a Mexican breakfast at 8 am. It was great. I am still at 202 pound. I am not going to worry a great deal about my weight. I think when I get to FL that I will be walking a great deal.

If your watching the webcam you will see me starting to pack up a few things. I am not taking much. I wish I had a lap top computer. If I had a lap top ...I could just tuck it under my arm and take off any place.

I am going to have to program my Yaesu VX-2 ham radio. I have the software to do it..but it still is a lot of work. Any ham out there that already has the file for South FL and Miami? Any ham radio dealers in Miami? Maybe one of them would have the file at their shop. It would be a good way to get a new person into the shop.

I have to be out of here in 18 days. I am going to miss Jimmy. I am going to miss Russell.

At 202 Pounds..Oh GOD

I am at 202 pounds now. I think that is the most that I have ever been.... Not good. I do think..however..when I get to Florida that things will get better. I plan to get out and go places. I plan to go the beach often. I plan to walk lots of places, will have to walk..I don't have a car. I plan to get a bike and join a bike club and go on rides. In the past I did some bike riding and I found that I ride from one place to a place to eat and then ride to the next place to eat.

We have an application on the way to us for an apartment. Ken can not find one photo of the place and wants to check on some other places. So right now.. we are not sure.. where we will be.. We are going to move up in what we are willing to play for an apartment.
Ken's room mate, the one that had a job offer from Las Vegas, is going to check into jobs in Florida. If she moves down then we would split the rent three ways and that would help out.

Jimmy said the car repair cost $279.00 and that Darlene was not happy.
Jimmy took Darlene to church and picked her up later.

My SS check came today. I had lunch at the Mexican place. I plan to eat breakfast tomorrow. Jimmy took me to Wal-Mart and I spent $60.00 on food. I got a lot of drinks, ice cream, peanuts and TV dinners. I wonder why I am getting fat.

Back to the apartment thing.. we are open to any ideas on apartments. We are looking for something close to MIA. Ken will have classes there. We are willing to spend $1000.00 per month. We want two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
