I have been to Haulover Beach one time. That was a few years ago. Now I live in
Miami. I plan to go to Haulover very soon. I hope to be a regular visitor to the

Cell Phone Camera

I sent a few people photos using my cell phone and SprintPCS. I sent myself a photo. I found that the camera on this cell phone is not good.
I know it is a cell phone and that is something extra..but it is not good.
I need to get a good digital camera. Something small that I can take to the beaches and places like that..

The idea of having the cell phone also a camera...seemed like a good idea.

I talked with Roger on the telephone tonight.

On Monday the first.. I get my $175.00 retirement check. I will have to pay the cell phone bill ($63.00) and the other $100.00 is going to have to last us until I get my next SS check (March 24th). It is going to be hard on Ken..He likes to eat out or fast food all the time.
I don't have a scale down here. I need to get one. God I hope I am not over 200 pounds. I need to get some clippers. It is about time for me to cut my hair. I just run clippers over my head.
Sort of a catch 22 here.. I don't think I will have the $20.00 to spare to get my FL driver liscense and I can't get a job to get money with out it. Smile.
I see a lot of security jobs down here.. I hate to work security. I worked it all my life. I was pretty lucky.. got hit in the mouth one time, got shot at one time, got bit one time.. kicked a few times.. but never hurt bad.. I sort of feel like.. I don't want to be retired and end up getting hurt at this late stage in my life.
Also I let my FL guard commission expire. I have a TX one but that will not do me any good here. I suspect it will cost me about $60.00 to get the FL commission back. I should go for the armed commission this time. It might open up more jobs for me. I don't want to work..but we need the money.
Ken is looking for work. But Ken was looking online. I don't think that does any good.. I think you got to go in person.

Key Biscayne

The other day I took the rail down a station and then the free shuttle bus that runs and I took it down to Key Biscayne beach. I guess that is what it is called. It is right at down town Miami. No real beach.. I mean no sandy beach with people on beach towels. It is a sea wall with the ocean and lots of grass and a real nice mall called BaySide Mall. Lot of eating places and shops and ships tied up at the dock right there and you can go on a tour by boat for $15.00 an hour.
You are right in down town Miami and you can get to lots of shops in down town. Watch out for traffic. I walked out in front of a bus. I felt like a fool.
You can get on the Internet in a shop down there for 99 cents a hour. They had a bunch of computers lined up.
I did not check out everything...but.. nice place.. I do like beaches with sand better..but I think they have events down there ...things like concerts and such.. In fact the police were setting up for something when I was down there.
Also I think you can get on a boat and go out to gamble. I saw a bus down there.. that looked like it took people down to gamble on a boat. My sort of place.

I want to get to Haulover Beach using public transportation. I THINK I saw a bus marked "Haulover" when I was on the shuttle bus. I think I can take the rail down to that area and maybe get a bus then to Haulover. I am sort of short on money..so will wait until I have the money to buy some hot dogs on the beach and a few thing.
I plan to be a regular at Haulover if I can find how to get there by rail and bus.

Crandon Park Beach

Ken and I went to this beach a few days ago:

FLAVOR: Like Lay's plain potato chips. Reliable and familiar, but unexciting.
CROWD: Families.
DETAILS: What Crandon lacks in pizazz it makes up for in reliability. Long stretches of soft sand for spreading the towel out and soaking up the sun abound. (Bring sunscreen so you're still around the next time The Herald prints a beach guide). There are palm trees to recline against and read the latest paperback. This is actually the perfect beach for families. Mom and Dad can relax and there is enough for kids to do, too. There are lifeguards, some concessions and picnic areas with tables and grills. Not enough restrooms, though. Parking is generally adequate on the grounds. One quibble: When the waters are calm a distinct aroma of sewage can waft about. There's a $1 toll to access Key Biscayne and parking fees once on the island."

Ken and I went to the beach. A lot of people were there but there was lots of space for everyone. Later most of the people left and we almost had an entire beach to our self.
The sand was easy to walk on..and the water was not deep and you could walk way out in the water..even to little sand bars out in the water. It was very nice. Ken had a great time.
I think we paid $3.00 or $4.00 to park in the parking lot. So total we spent maybe $5.00 for the visit. We did not buy any food. Lost of shade trees. They have a lot of things around the place.. things for people to do.. very nice.

Streaming vs CameraWare

I got the box that Jimmy sent. It was my last box of stuff. I was on the telephone to the cable Internet people. There was a knock at the door. I just had a t-shirt on...yes..nude from waste down..I went to the door anyway.. thank God..it was a man. It was the mail man. I got the box that Jimmy sent.

Nothing major in the box. There were a couple of towels and hand towels. I can use them. My shoes were in the box. A couple of t-shirts, some old files and a few odd things.

I found the problem with not being able to send out mail. The manual that came with the Internet install said that the my pop and smtp was: charter.net but it is not...it is the-beach.net. My eMail is now going out. So those of you that sent me an eMail and others should have heard from me by now.

I am starting to wonder if streaming video right now is the right idea. I have had a number of you contact me via AOL or Yahoo and say I was not sending video. They were looking for my video on CW. Also the most that have been watching the streaming video is 6. It starts to slow down things here with that number watching..and I suspect many more than that.. would slow it down for those watching also..
If I were sending video to CW I would have have 30 to 50 watching. Some of those people would then find there way to my site. What do you all think?

I am starting to think....that maybe I should send video to CW until I get another computer online here and then I can use that one computer just to stream video.
Right now just one computer going. I need a monitor, well need two. I also need a couple more computer desks.
When I get the other computers up and running... I will have a webcam in my bedroom and maybe that should be the streaming one. I will have a webcam in the living room and maybe that should be the CW video.

It is a bit cool here in Miami today. We had the heat on last night. It was down in the 50s but the wind was blowing and making it feel like it was 40s.

Streaming Video Now

I am not sending video using CameraWare right now. I am streaming video using WebCamXP. That works very well. However when I stream video is it a real drain on my computer and on my band width. Right now 6 people are watching my streaming video. My computer and band width are still working...I am not sure..at what point it will put such a drain..that it will be hard for me to use my computer and surf the Internet.
When that time comes, if it does happen, I will will give out a user name and password to each of you. CameraWare puts very little drain on the computer and band width. When I can afford to pay the CW membership fee again.. I will start using it again..to send video.. so no one will be left out.. Just you.. good long time fans will have the password to see the streaming video...but everyone will see the video..just some will see it via CW.

I got a bunch of EMails that I have written here...but they are not going out.. I am using charter.net and it is not sending them out. There is a problem... with the SMTP ...I will have to call them and see what my user name and password is...the guy did not give me that..
I should get those eMails out to you guys.. but hang in there.. lots of stuff to do here...

Desk and Chair

Ken and I got a desk (39.00) and chair (20.00) from Wal-Mart. I am off the floor. Thank God. Having to set on the floor was killing my legs, back .... Thank God for the desk and chair.
Soon as I can get two more monitors...I can get the other computers working and online. Then Ken will have a computer in his room and I will have one in my room and one in the living room.

I am not sending video via CameraWare now. I am using WebCamXP. So the video is streaming. When I can afford to pay for the CW fee..I will start to use CW in addition to WebCamXP.

I got shades up in my room. We got a shade up in the living room ..but it is too short.. I also... have some fear about how well people can see in when the light is on..

We got cable TV now.. I guess we got everything a person needs... high speed Internet access, cable TV and a bathoom.

We can use just about everything. We need real bad a computer desk and chair. Two other desks and chairs would help out. Office Depoe will deliver an order of $50.00 or more free.
I only have one small monitor. I would like a larger one. A 19" inch would be nice. But even a 17" would be nice. There is a CompUSA about 3 blocks from here so I have checked out their monitors. There sure are some nice monitors out now days.

We need a printer. It does not have to be fancy. Ken needs something to print out stuff to get a job. I have seen nice ones for 199.00 that you can hook to a network and they print, copy, scan and fax. That would help with job hunting. But a $49.00 printer will work.

There is a large mall across the street from us. It has a Radio Shack and Shaper Image and other places. They have a couple of stores that sell cameras and tri-pods etc.

For the apartment we need a microwave, sofa, chair, kitchen table and stuff like that... a larger TV would be nice..but it can wait.. We have one small TV.

Anyway those are some ideas.. Some ideas on my Wish List.

If you don't want to do a house warming gift... I will be 63 years of age on March 26th. I hope we get a computer desk and chair before then however.. Smile.

We still do not have a desk or chair. This is going to be short for that reason. We have some shades up. The shade for the living room is too short and I think with a light on in here..people can still see in.. I will check it sometime.
Two of the four shade are up in my room. Tomorrow I will get the other two up.

Still only have one computer hooked to the Internet.

Soon as I get a desk and chair..I will start steaming video. I can't do the HTML code on the floor. Soon as we get an additional monitor.. I will try and get the camera in my bedroom.

I am going to bed.
