If the Bush people get their way ..this will not just be these Iraq men being treated this way..
Bush wants to take away rights from everone and that is Americans also... Right now two cases
before the high court of this nation about American men who are being held without any legal
rights.
Plus we do not know of many other people and cases. When something like this happens and you
find about about it..you know that there is a great deal more that you do not know and is being
covered up.

These sorts of things happen.. But we need to watch out for them and we need the freedom to
check into them. We are very close to losing our rights and our freedoms.
We need to vote Bush out of office and send all of his pack back to their oil jobs and their
seats on the stock exchange.

Hospital Security Officer

Welcome to Florida! I went to the web site for that hospital. I found that you can fill out a short application online. I did that and got back an eMail that it was received. I will just wait and see if they contact me.
I did find out some details of the job online. This is for inhouse security and they pay, get this, $8.14 an hour. I am working now contact security, for a mall, and getting $8.50 an hour.
I even found out the hours for the position. They are looking for someone full time to work from 7 pm to 7 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then they are looking for part-time officers. Guess what..I am sure the part-time officers do not get any thing like insurance.
The sad thing is that I will take the full time position if they offer it to me. Working 3 days, well midnight shifts, a week sounds good to me. The pay would go up some and I should get some sort of insurance.
You know what is funny.. this hospital, a chain of them, has been picked as one of the top 100 places to work for in the United States.

iBot FireWire Camera

I got a PCI card that gives me three FireWire (1394) ports. I had a iBot FireWire camera. The iBot camera would not work with my ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 8500DV. That ATI card has a firewire port but the camera would not work.
Well after I got the Mercury PCI 1394 firewire card the iBot camera started working. I am using the iBot camera for the ShowMeCAM streaming video.
Those of you that watch my video can decide if it is faster and if the video is better. It is hard for me to tell. The iBot does not do very well in low light level. It just got daylight here and the video, with good lighting, looks very good to me.
The only computer I have working is the Dell 410 450 mHz computer and it does not support USB 2.0 so it maybe that the firewire video is going to be faster.
I hope the video is better and that you will enjoy the new firewire video.

The CameraWare video is still using a QuickCAM Pro 4000 USB camera.

Visit to the Tiger Direct Store

Ken and I went to the Tiger Direct store. I got a Epson printer for $50.00 and speakers for $9 and for $19 I got a firewire PCI card. I am going to put it in the computer and hope that the firewire camera will work. I do not think it will work.

Ken and I went to the casino. I left with $20.00 of their money.

Darlene called me and Russell went to the doctor. The doctor was very surprised how well he has done. On the 10th of May he is going to operate and take out the cyst and remove four wisdom teeth at the same time. It is going to cost $3500.00 and Dar is going to have to come up with the money. Russell has no insurance.

School

Ken was turned down for the loan. Ken is not sure at this point if he needs $1300.00 now for school or will need the entire amount of $2300.00 but we do not have it.
Unless we hit a jackpot tonight.. I fear Ken will not be going to school.
Ken is someone with a very high IQ. I am sure the nation could use that brain power but not going to happen, at this point, due to not being able to get an education.

No Real News on Troy's Dad

Troy's dad is still in ICU. They are working to get him into a room. They are going to put in a defibrillator. There is, of course, problem with blood flow to his legs. I am sure there is a lot of stress on the family.
I fear they got a lot ahead of them.

Troy has not got the final test results on his own tests. I think he is going to get them on Monday. The doctor told him what he thinks is the problem.. I can't spell the condition.. Soon as I can get Troy to spell it out for me.. I will post it here, with his permission, and a link to it. The doctor says it is something that he will just have to live with...He will have to keep his blood pressure down and not put any demands on his liver and understand that he is at high risk for liver problems. Soon as I know more I will post it.

I am working on a number of things.. I am making changes to the HNB After Dark site. Give me some to get it setup and working.
Right now...as of this minute.. I am only sending video via CameraWare. I want to change things around.

White Space

I know your seeing this site with white space. Lost our color and a bit of the formatting. I THINK the reason is that I am trying to map www.showmeblog.com to hnb.typepad.com or the other way around.. I have been having problems with it and I THINK that is the reason.

Off for Two Days

Last night at work was not too bad. A couple of you have mentioned that maybe it will get better. I think you are correct. As I learn things it is not as bad. However.. I still am going to look for a different job.
Last night at work the drivers were crazy. People were pulling in front of me. Not stoping at stop signs and everything. It seemed like they wanted to get hit.
My supervisor last night gave me my pay check. She was surpised that I had not picked it up and that I did not even know when pay day was.. pay day was April 23rd and last night was April 28th.
The pay check was for $287.57 and was for 50 hours, they pay each two weeks. They held out $72.39 for a uniform deposit.

After work last night Ken and I went to the casino. I took $60.00 to pay with.. I put $20 into a video poker game. I lost it. I put another $20.00 into the machine and I start to win some. Ken came over and watched me play. I lost that $20.00 and Ken said.. I should try a new machine that he had been playing for the first time.
I do not even know what to call it. Well I put in $20.00 and I started to win. I won went up to over $130.00 and then it started to fall down. When it got to $100.00 I cashed in and we left. So I left with $40.00 of their money.

Why Do I hate My Job

I think I hate this job more than any job I have ever had.. but that can not be true..
Hell I worked one place during the winter that it was so cold.. I would be limping home..my feet were so cold. You were freezing all the time. That was the Darby Corporation.

Maybe with time.. you forget..

I wonder why I hate this job so much. The people are real nice. I know my hearing is a problem. It is very heard for me to hear what is being said on the radio. It is also very hard to understand all the non English speaking people. Some of the officers I work with.. in person.. I can not understand a word they are saying and on the radio..hell they could be speaking the Klingon language.
Also I never worked any security job were non security managment had our radios and unit numbers. I think our director of security is unit 4. So mall management is 1, 2, 3 and no telling what other numbers.
I do not do well with people that think they are important. In fact.. well..those sort of people rub me the wrong way.. people have introduced me to mall management and others have told me..that is so and so..and he is such and such..and if he wants something done.. we do it and jump.. he is important ..stuff to that effect.. I have to grind my teeth.. It is a wonder they don't hear them grinding.
I the security, I did in the past, we took care of issues and problems and when management would find a report on their desk how we had taken care of the problem. Here ...security if finding trash containers, outside bins, over flowing and calling mall management.
Also we have these big devices that use the Palm system and you have to scan bar codes and you have to answer 15 fucking questions each time you do it. It takes 5 minutes or more before you can get into the car to patrol. Now that would not be bad if you were in the same car for 4 or 8 hours.. but in an 8 hour shift.. I am in two or three different cars each day and sometimes in them for only 30 minutes.
Then there are the jobs that they have decided have to be done and done each shift and at a certain time and by a certain unit. I do not have a problem with the 2nd and 3rd shift checking fire stands and meter rooms when nothing is happening...But on the 2nd and 1st shift.. just when you need to be watching our and checking on traffic and subjects..they will call you and order you do to the fire stand, Coke machine, meter room checks. They have done this .. when we just had reports of people trying to break into cars.. they have it on a list at a certain time..
Also.. with the wand to read the bar code.. I know.. how that works.. people are not going to do a good check..all they are thinking about is getting the questions answered on the wand device..
Then there is the traffic.. I will give those guys credit.. How they keep from having an accident I do not now.. the mall visitor drive thru stop signs and do everything...that you would not believe.. there are so many close calls.. The amount of traffic that this mall gets is well.. a lot of fucking cars and trucks.. all of them driven by people that I am sure..must be insane or on drugs.
I have never had a real accident in my life.. sure..I drove a bus one time and knocked the mirror off of it..and put a dent in a door one time..but mostly no traffic accidents.
I do not think I can drive around and around in those lots and thru those garages without an accident. When you have x number of near misses ..you know..one of them is going to connect one of these days soon.
I think the main problem I have..is that I can not understand.. the people I am working with..even in person.. and I can not understand ..what the fuck people are saying on the radio. I think that is the main problem. It is something that I can not live with..
I have two problems..one the fact they do not speak clear good English and they have a big accent but on top of that I have very bad hearing lost in both ears.

I am going to check that hospital on Thursday. I also may also check CompUSA.

Troy's Dad

Troy's dad is in the hospital. Troy's dad's name is Jim and he is two months younger than me. They had to do CPR on him one time at his house. He has had major problems. I am surprised that he is still alive. He also smokes big time and after all his heart problems..he still smokes big time.
He is a very nice guy. I hope he makes it OK. No question that his days are numbered. I was hoping that he would live to see Troy's baby and he did make it. I was not sure he would last that long.

Troy just got home and got me on AOL IM. They are going to do a heart cath tomorrow and see what they find. His dad was being a pain. Troy blames the staff for trying to make family members leave the room.
They medicated his dad ..so he is sleeping now.. Troy and his family.. well..they always.. seem to have problems with people they do business with or something.. I guess his dad was going to pull out his IVs and Troy is saying that if they will not let his family stay ..he will just leave.
Maybe because I did hospital security 30 years.. but my feeling.. is.. fucking leave.. there are other patients in that area.. and three or four people are going to be in the way.. and if the staff needs to do something they are going to be in the way.. And if you let one family have x number of visitors in the room..then how to do keep other people.. from having that number.. Troy and his family are white.. I think you can see the problems.. maybe the patient in the next bed is black.. Are you going to tell them..sorry you can not have x number of visitors with your family member.. Jim, Troy's dad, is a real nice guy but he sucks big time as a patient. He has been thru a great deal and he has some more ahead of him..

I hope it turns out well for Troy's dad..but I fear that his days are numbered.. But.. I was not sure he would live to see the baby and he made that..
My mother's mother had what they called "total heart block" and a doctor would pick her up from time to time and take her to General Hospital and present her case to the new doctors. She was told that she would not live long and this was when my mother was a child. Well she lived to raise me for a few years.. I think I was maybe 10 or so when she died. I used to stay close to home to listen for her bell. She would ring it when she wanted her medication. I was in charge of her medication and made sure she did not take too much of it. I think her medication was Phenobarbital.
I called her "mom" and my mother I called "Betty" and I called my father "Jim."
