Happy New Year

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It has been a bad year for many people in the world. I hope that 2005 will be a better year for all.

Ken and Russell are out and at the beach and going to watch a fire works show for the New Year. I will be sleeping until about 11 pm and then getting ready for work and I start work at midnight. So I will get to work right at midnight. God I hope none of those guys gives me a New Year kiss. Smile.

I walked over to pay the apartment rent today and they are closed today and until the 3rd of next year. I could see them closing early today but taking off the entire day. Wow. I got the wrong job. I will be getting time and a half pay for tonight.

You can see.. I have made some changes to the color of the blog for the New Year. I will work on it. I am not good with colors. Tell me what you can not stand and I will see if I can fix it.

CameraWare Again!

I walked over to the mall about 3 am and got my pay for two weeks. Now when I work 80 hours for the two weeks my take home pay is $600.98 for the two weeks.

I am back using CameraWare for our video. With the WebCamXP that I was using for the last couple of days I would have maybe one or two people watching. Most of the time only one and a great deal of the time none watching. It just seems I can reach more people, right now, by sending the video out using CameraWare.

Message to the American Heart Association

If you have been reading my blog, for years, you know that my spelling is bad. Hell you would not even have to read it for years to be aware of that fact.

  Even if my spelling is bad and everything else.. Well I still have the right to object to certain things and today I ran across something that drives me nuts for some reason.

  Today I took the American Heart Association's Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED course. It is an excellent course.

  However in the video and the text book they talk about what emergency care to give to a victim of electrocution. I told the teacher of the course what you do to someone that has had electrocution. You bury them. They are dead.

  A message to the AHA electrocution is NOT the same as electrical shock.

  Electrocution is DEATH by electricity.

  I understand that if we are talking with each other we might slip up on something like that and I don't have a problem with that.. But this is in a text book and in a video going out and being taught to tons of people.

  I pointed out the error to the teacher. He did not agree with me.

  Again.. just so everyone will remember this...  Electrocution is DEATH. They are dead dead dead.

My Way or the Highway

  I do love movies. I have not updated this list in months .. but here is a list of movies that I love.

  I have been messing with Fedora 3. I have been running it for about four days now. Most of the time I install Linux and delete it and put Windows back on after a day or two.
  One time I told a guy "My Way or the Highway" when I was at work. I think maybe I watch too many movies.

  It cost $7.00 to see a movie around here. I think the price for movie tickets is too high. Now with all the video and big screen TVs and stuff.. I do think they should lower the price of tickets and give some better services. Just my 2 cents on the subject.

 

Russell has a coat now

Ken got Russell a new coat  today.
The weather does not get real cold here
but he is out at night and may need one.

Problems with ShowMeCAM

  I am not sure if any of you ran into ShowMeCAM problems, for the last couple of days, but I started using WebCamXP beta version a few days ago. No one said anything to me about problems but I noted today that when you went to ShowMeCAM you saw the current video but it did not update.
  It is sometimes hard for me to test my own video here. Sometimes it works correct for me but not for others..hard to tell..so depend on others to let me know if I have problems...
  I did some checking and I think the beta version had some problems. I have gone back to the standard non-beta release.

  OK the other thing ...I have been sending out the streaming video in FLASH mode and everyone seemed to like that format. Since I started running Linux and FireFox  the streaming video would not show up. FireFox ask me to download Flash and I do and it acts like it is not installed and no video.
  I switched the ShowMeCAM to Java output and FireFox did the same thing..no video on Linux with FireFox for me.
  I then switched to JavaScript and got streaming video on Linux using FireFox. So right now that is how I have things setup. If YOU have problems getting the streaming video please let me know..

 
 

  I was up all day. I did not have very much to eat. Well you saw a photo of what I had to eat. I went to bed about 6 pm and I felt like I was coming down with something.. I was having chills and stuff like that.. plus I just did not feel like I could sleep.
  I got back up and talked Russ into going to the mall and getting us something to eat and when he was gone ...I decided to call into work and tell them that I was sick. So I am off tonight. This is the first time I have every missed a day of work for this company. I think it has been 9 months ... I have worked for them 9 months and not missed a day of work. It is rare for me to miss work.

  I don't feel real good and I don't feel real sick. I just feel a little sick. I did make up my mind.. however..that I will never work for these people when I am sick... I did that back a number of months ago..I was very sick and I am not going to do that again.

  I need to clean up this house...it is a mess...
  I need to move the computers in my room and move stuff around..Right now with the desk and camera were they are the video is not very clear doing the day because of too much from behind me.. and the other problem.. I got the Dell 410 getting power from a outlet that is controled by the light switch by the door. I forget, all the time, and hit that switch to turn on or off the light..and bang down goes the Linux computer. I need to move it.

  I just ate a bunch of food.. but I feel a bit sick.. I do think I have something..
  Tomorrow I am off work.. Then Thrusday I have the CPR class and Friday I have to work.

  Also I think I made a bit too much money for SS.  I think now..for each two dollars I make ...SS is going to take one of them. I am not sure just how all that is going to work out.. I will have to wait and see.
  I expect to hear from that hospital right after the first of the year.. It is just a guess.

Kodak CX7330 Digital Camera

I went over to CompUSA and got a Kodak CX7330 3.1 megapixel camera. It cost $149.95 and I am happy with that price. I would like a super digital camera but this will do. At least I have a digital camera. Later when I can afford a better camera I will pass this one on to Ken, Russ or one of the other family members.

I hope I can come up with better photos than my food..but for now this was the best I could do.

I wrote this and uploaded this photo and everything from the Dell 410 computer running Linux. The photo was on the other computer but I opened up the next work and got it and pulled it over to this computer. I do not know a great deal about networking. I have done a little of it. Maybe I will learn now that I have two computers and they are networked.

The Shame of it all

Work called me and told me that I had to do CPR training on Thursday. My CPR card expired in 1999. I don't know how many years I was certified in CPR. It brings back very bad memories. I used to be a CPR instructor until that horrible event. Oh the pain .. the pain of what happened to me.
  Let me wipe away a tear. OK.
  CPR is Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. You breath for the people and you keep their heart pumping. Everyone should know CPR. If someplace where you can get the training. It may save the life of a family member or hell you might save my life someday.

  OK ..now my story. I worked as a hospital security officer. I was also a trained and certified EMT (emergency medical technician). The hospital was in need of CPR instructors. So they asked me to take the training and become an instructor for the American Heart Association.
  So for years I did CPR instruction and certified hospital staff until my down fall. sob sob

  I was working at a small hospital and one of our nurses went on vacation and did not do the CPR certification before she left and when she came back to work there was a notice saying that the next day no nurse that did not have a current CPR card could work.
  Well this nurse worked from 6 pm to 6 am so at midnight she should not be working after midnight.
  I did not have a dummy at the time at the hospital. So I gave her the written test and we talked about everything and I issued her a card. (She was an ER nurse and an RN by the way. I had seen her do real CPR many times.)

  Well another nurse reported me for giving a CPR card with out following the AHA rules. My security department checked into it.. did a report and my department wrote me up and I was suspended for three days without pay.
  The AHA revoked my instructors card.

  When they took my card and tore it up.. Well first I was called in the meeting and the room was filled with instructors. They ripped off my patches, ribbons and buttons. They took my training baton and broke it in my face and tossed it on the ground.
  Then the instructors lined up in two rolls facing each other and as I walked down the center of the line as I passed the instructors they turned their back to me. Oh the shame..sob.. wipe away a tear.

  So that is my story. Now you know my shame.

Blessed Be The Name of Bush

I had a dream the other night. In this dream it was the year 2077. There had been a great war between two ways of life. Because of the danger and the attacks we had been forced to give up many of the things we called freedom. We all had a ID chip in our body. All our movements and locations were monitored at all times.

  The great man that had taken us into this new and wonderful world G W Bush was no longer with us. But his blessed memory was still with us all. Blessed be the name of Bush.

  Thanks to Blessed Bush we had faced the enemy of the East and had put them down. We took control of their oil and put it in the service of God and our Blessed Bush. When the oil ran out we went to nuclear power. Now we control the power for all the world. We control the water for the world.

  Our Blessed Bush was with us for our next enemy. The pagan leader in Rome and his so called religion. The so called church and so called pope called our Blessed Bush the anti-Christ. We smashed them as we had the enemy in the East.
The few catholics that were left around the world elected G W Bush as vicar of their so called faith. That is just one of the titles and honor that came to Blessed Bush.

  He was called to heaven and sits at the right hand of God. Blessed be his name.

  We pray to our God two times each day. We are called to prayer by the opening bell of the NYSE and the closing bell of the NYSE.
  When we learned that business and corporations were the grace and glory of God we became a great nation and then a great world. We have come so far from the old days of so called “freedom.”

   I dreamed that we were all going to pray, as it was time for the opening of the NYSE.

   I woke in a cold sweat. Laying in bed in fear. I reached for the tv remote control and turned on the TV. The first channel had the opening bell of the NYSE. I went to a different channel and it was the same. I went to a different channel and it was news of major communications companies joining into a large company. I tuned to a channel and it was a religion channel and the minister was saying that God had sent President Bush to lead our nation at this time. I tuned to channel it was the opening bell of the NYSE.

  I turned off the TV. I covered my face with the pillow and I screamed and I screamed.
