Rebate Problems

  I hate all this rebate stuff.  Years ago I got many items and never would get any rebate.  Then things got OK for a while.  I started to get rebates.
  I got a 120 gig AcomData usb/firewire external hard drive and I never got my rebate.  I send in the paper work for the drive.  I got the drive at CompUSA about 06/27/04 and here it is 02/22?05 and no rebate.

  One thing to watch at CompUSA is their signs up with prices.  They have signs up and it will be the wrong item.  It is often hard to tell and you don’t find out until you go to pay for the item that  it was a different item that had that price on it.

  One other thing is the bar code cards that you have to use in stores.  The card is free but if you don’t have one and use it..you pay a higher price.  An item maybe marked $1.50 but If you don’t use your card you will pay $3.00 for it.

  It is 2:30 am and time for me to get some sleep.

Jacksonville FL Job?

 I was trying today to work on a resume.  I say trying because I just seem to have a block when it comes to doing a resume.  When I set down to do a resume I just lock up and start looking around to find anything else to work on other than a resume.
  Ken  can write a great resume.  Ken is busy with work and school and other things so I am on my own.  When I had a few dollars I should have paid a professional to work  on one up for me.

  I got a call today about a job.  It was not an offer.  They called late today and they are looking for a director of security.  They saw my resume online.  It is not a good resume. I filled it out on the site.  I need to write a good one and upload it.
  Well they want me to FAX them a good resume.  So now I got to get it done.

  The job is in Jacksonville FL.  I don’t want to move North, next stop after Jacksonville is GA, I want to move South. 
It is a job as director of security at a hospital.

  OK now I should work on the resume.  Now what can I do other than work on that resume?  There has got to be something.

National Videotex

I started my day by checking my email. Then I played "Age of Mythology – The Titans." Then I attempted to find the location of some of the security jobs in the newspaper. I have to find the location on Google Maps and then see if I can get to the location using the MetroRail system.

At 10 am I had 18 people watching me put my laundry away.
At 10:21 am I had all the laundry put away and 21 people watching ShowMeCAM.

I took one of my Flintstones vitamins. I am now ready to start my day.
I am tired I could use a nap.

$147.00 less each month from SS

Tomorrow…well today… it is 2 am now.  Today is the day I get my SS for the month.  It should be $986.00 for the month.  This month, I think, I will get only $838.10 for the month.  It will be like that for a long time.  They are going to with hold $147.90 each month to pay off Jimmy’s school loan.  He took out two loans for his school and I took out two loans for him.  He paid off both his loans.
  I should get a tax refund in three weeks for $108.00.  I think, they will also keep that money.

  I will be glad to be paying on the loans.  This is a bad time for it.  I knew that when it hit it would be a bad time.

  I am tired and would like to go to bed.  I got laundry in the dryer right now.  I also got a bunch of wires on my bed.  It maybe good that the junk is on the bed or else I might lay down to rest my eyes. 

  I was thinking of signing up with eFAX.  They offer one month free of their paid service. Then after that it is $12.00 for the service.  I was signed up with them years ago and I had a hard time finding how to turn off the service.
  GoDaddy.Com has a FAX service and it is $9.00 a month.  Right now eFAX is offering numbers in Miami (area code 305) and that would be nice.  When I had the service before I never used it.  But now that I am looking for work it might help out. 

Doing the laundry

I am doing the laundry.  It is 1 am and I just put it in the wash.  There are fewer and fewer people in this apartment complex anymore.  It is a bit easier to do the wash.

  I feel like I maybe getting a cold.  I hope I don’t get one. 

  I got Word in stalled on my computer now.  I got Age of Mythology on the computer again.  I got ACDC installed. 

  Dick, in the comments area, is 100% correct about looking for work.   A person needs to make that their job.  You need to start early and go all day.  I know I am not doing that. But hell I got to use some care. I don’t want to get a job.  Smile

  If I had a car I would just start out about 9 am and go from one place to the next place all day.  One problem I have had in the past is that I tend to take any job when they offer it.  I am going to try and not do that this time.
 

  Ken was talking about when we move… He thinks he knows an apartment in a good area for us.  He knows someone that lives in the apartment and has seen the apartment and knows what the prices are for the places.
  I should find out from him and do a mapquest and take a look at the area.  I should see how easy it would be for Russell to get to college.  For myself… I should see how far it is from Haulover beach.

  I got the directions to the place where Russell will take his GED test.  We only need to take one bus and when we get off we only need to walk three blocks.

Application in at CompUSA

Ken is sick with a cold.  His teacher told him that he has to have a doctor saying he saw a doctor.  Also the teacher will not give him the same test that was given the day he missed.  The teacher says he has to show up at the place of work of the teacher and take an oral text.  (OK.. all you perverts get your hands out of your pants.)
  Ken is an A student in all classes.  He does not miss school.  I think this is a lot of crap but..if I were him I would just put up with it.  Ken is just about done with school and with a bit of luck.. can get hired by the FAA making major money.  It is worth it to take some crap when your looking at getting a job that you can make a lot of money.

  I went over to the mall and got some food for Ken.  He is not feeling well.  I had to wait for them to cook up some chicken.. I just made it back to the apartment in the nick of time. 
  Then I walked over to CompUSA and they just handed me an application.  I filled it out standing at a counter.  I should have taken it home to fill it out.  It is one of those applications that makes it hard to list things about yourself.  No space for anything like that.. I should have taken it home and then printed out something to put with it.. If I were the looking at that application.. I don't think I would call that person for an interview.
  From looking around..  I think everyone makes almost nothing per hour and the only way they can make any money is getting commissions or a little extra to sell certain items.
  Tomorrow I will apply at a  good security place.  Their office is is not close... I know mapquest type sites will tell me if their are eating places or motels close to sites.. I wonder if they list bathrooms.  I could plan out a trip and print out a map and plot the location of bathrooms.
  I am going to be pissed if someone designs a search or map site that does that an makes a million dollars from the idea.  Smile.

Cannon AKA Guckerts

  I have been checking some of the blogs and the Jeff Cannon/Guckerts issue is still one of the things they are talking about.. you got to admit it is an interesting story.

By the way I just went to AmericanBLOG and followed a bunch of thier links.  So I will not put any of the links.  If your interested in the story then go to AmericanBLOG.

One thing I want to check on when I get time is what is going on with the GOP and the AARP.  It looks like the GOP is attacking the AARP.  I guess the AARP has taken a postion that the GOP does not like.
I would think it would be a big mistake to attack the AARP. 
It is interesting that they will attack the AARP but they would never attack the NRA.

What did I do today?

  I was up all night and then crashed the computer about 5 am.  I took a very short nap and been working on the computer all day.
  I did not go out and job hunt.  I GOT to do that tomorrow.

  So far I  have installed ShowMeCAM, CameraWare, IncrediMail and RoboForms.  I have had problems with ATI MMC.  I will to work on that later.
  I am tired but I want to get as much as I can installed today.

  Well going to install DirectX 9.0 ...wish me luck.

Nude Scene too Much

"Actor Russell Crowe has revealed that he refused to show his penis in aborted film, Eucalyptus.

The movie was finally abandoned last week after speculation suggesting that Crowe and co-star Nicole Kidman had fallen out.

The Gladiator star denied the rumours of a row with his fellow Aussie.

He did however reveal that he had refused to do a scene requiring him to show his penis to a young Queen Elizabeth.

"I was taken aback," Crowe told The Sun.

Eucalyptus has been beset by difficulties with further rumours suggesting that members of the cast had failed to see eye to eye with director Jocelyn Moorhouse.

Last week it was even reported that Crowe was looking to personally recruit a new director to get the project back on track"

Back OnLine...at least for now

  This computer has been cursed since we got it.  Jimmy got it when we were in Carrollton TX and had problems from day one.  It has always been just about impossible to get it to connect to the Internet.
 

  Well what happened here is..  This computer just had a 20 gig hard drive in it.  I did add one of those external 120 gig usb/firewire drives but you know how Windows always installs stuff in C drive.
  I got a 30 gig hard drive from Russell and put it in.. That gave me a 20 gig C: drive, and a 30 gig and then that 120 gig.  Well.. I have one of the devices that will let me plug in memory chips/cards and each port takes a drive letter.. Well long story.. in short form.. all the drive letters got messed up..
  I moved some stuff to the correct drive.. I got tired of doing it and ran a program to fix errors and it deleted a ton of stuff.. then when I did a reboot .. I got that blue screen over and over again..
  So time to format everything.. I did that.. and then.. could not connect to the Internet.. after hours and hours of working on it.. I got it to connect and then I downloaded the fixes for Windows and service pack 2 and bang.. no Internet connection.. so I did the roll back.. still no good... I moved stuff around.. At last .. I am back..  I hate to re-boot.. I am not sure what will happen when I reboot.
  But I got to install a lot of software and got to re-boot a bunch of times.. cross your fingers.
