BBS: The Documentary

  I got two copies of BBS: The Documentary today.  Jason Scott did a great job with the box and package for the DVDs.  Best I have seen.
  Now..we don't own a DVD player believe it or not.  I do have a DVD drive in my computer.  I am not sure I have DVD player software on the computer right now.
  I guess I will have to see if I can view the first movie on the DVD.

  Then each month I get the commission going into my account.  I would say about two times a day someone buys some movies.  Most of the time they spend about $8.00 and the other day someone paid $5.00 for movies. 
  Now come on guys.. buy more adult movies.. errr..it is good for your eyes..err it puts more money into the system..  Oh hell.. I just like getting a commission each month.  Smile

  I got a lot of things on my wish list that I want to buy.  I can only get them if all of you buy lots and lots of adult movies.  Smile.

 

Davie Florida

  I had a call with a job offer.  The job would be in Davie Florida.  It would be a security job.  It sounds like a good job.  Right now Davie is too far to go for the job.  It is in or right next to Ft. Lauderdale.  I maybe living in Ft. Lauderdale soon.  So many jobs and only one of me.  I hope however that I never have to work security again.
  I had lunch with one of the security officers that works at the mall.  He was not on duty and we did not eat at the mall.  It might not be good for any of them to be seen with me. 

  I moved stuff around in my room again last night about 2 am.  So on ShowMeCAM you may see a little different view. 
 

Everglades National Park

Ken and I went to the Everglades National Park today.  Russell would not go with us.  Russ wanted to stay and play a computer game.
  I took a few photos and Ken took some of me.  The camera must be broke because all the photos of me came out with me looking like a fat, old, bald man.

"Protect her privates."  Wow.. You got to love the time we live in for sure..

I have 11 people, right now, watching my webcam.  I wonder how many of them would like to see me with items like this on my body.  Smile

No Peeking at Jackson's Penis

It is all over the news.  The jurors will not get to see Michael Jackson's penis.  How sad.   Smile.  I know that has always been a dream of mine.  Yes..  How wonderful it would be to see Jackson's penis. Smile

  I worked today .  I am now off on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  I will not get paid for Monday.  Monday is "Memorial Day" in the United States.

  I want to try and make it to the beach sometime during these three days.  I will take my camera.  I need to work on the self timer.  I need some sort of back pack.  I need something that  I can pack my ham radio, GPS unit and camera into and take with me.  The problem however is that if I go to the beach alone I can't leave the stuff on the beach and go into the water.  I sure am not going to take the ham radio and the camera into the water.  The GPS unit could go into the water, not that I would do that.

 

Progressive Financial Services

 

Someone must have got a spanking from the U.S. Department of Education.  Today I got a statement  from Progressive Financial Services.  It was NOT sent looking like a government letter.  The statement does not say it is from the U.S. Department of Education.  It does not have their seal on the statement.
  In fact the statement says right on it:  "This notice regarding your account with the Department of Education is from Progressive Financial Services, Inc.  The Department of Education has placed your account with this agency for collection action." 
  Wow that is a big change from the past. On the back it even list "Required State Notices" for a collection agency.
  This appears to be the way they should be doing their collection duties. Of course are they doing everyone this way now or just me and a few others that caused them a problem.  Or did the ED do their job of checking up on these people.  I hope the ED took some sort of action.

  Now this statement says that my total balance is    $3,489.60
     On the 5th of May 2005       my total balance was  3,482.57
     On the  9th of April 2005     my total balance was  2,910.78
     On        8th of March 2005   my total balance was  3,908.26
  I know it does not add up.  I suspect that no matter how much I pay on this loan it will never get paid off.  I think they will add "interest", "fees and cost" so that I will never see an end to this matter.
  They are taking each year my federal income tax refund. So this year they got $108.00 from my income tax money.  Each month they take $147.90 from my Social Security check.
  I do not have a problem with them taking the $150.00 each month from my Social Security check.  It is a good way for them to get their money and an easy way for me to pay them.
  If my math is correct in 2 years the loan could be paid off.  Well not counting all the extra fees and  interest they are going to add to the amount. 
  If  Progressive Financial Services had been honest and truthful about all this from the first then maybe I could have worked out a deal with them.  Right now I don't want to deal with them.  I do not trust them. 
  I am not sure what the next step is going to be in this matter.
  I hope that my actions did cause Progressive Financial Services to clean up their act.  I hope the ED  will keep their eyes on them.  I hope the ED will give them some fake accounts to collect and those accounts they should monitor to see what sort of paper work they are sending out.  I hope that inspectors from ED will visit PFS.  Walk in for an inspection, with out giving advanced notice, and listen to the phone calls they are making and look at the paper work they are sending out.  Don't just  ask them what are you sending out.  They could go to a file and pull out something.  Open some of the mail that is in the mail room already sealed, addressed and ready to go out. 
  Come on ED your NOT NASA this is not rocket stuff.  Do some inspections and keep these people feet to the fire.

My Hero: Jason Scott

 

Well Jason Scott the Director of The BBS Documentary is now sending out the DVD set.  I should get my copy in a day or two.  Jason did this entire project on his own.  He was camera man, audio man and did it all.  (I am sure he could not have done it without the help and support of his wife.)
  His movie is on 3 DVDs and is in 8 parts.  He did interviews with 200 people located all over the United States.  He even had to go to hell (I mean Texas) and interview me in Carrollton TX.  Smile

  Again he did it all and had to learn as he was doing it.  It took him a bit longer than he expected and I am sure it cost him more time and money that he expected.  But he has saved history for all of us geeks and computer nurds.
  He could not get all those two hundred interviews into the documentary.  He is going to see to it that those interviews will be online and that people can view them some day.  (I KNOW you all just can not wait to see me talking for 2 hours non stop about Howard's Notebook.  Smile)
 
  You can now order it.  The BBS Documentary.  Just think it will be a limited edition.  You know MGM or FOX did not put it out.  Buy a few copies as an investment.  Smile.  Maybe in a few years you can try and sell one copy on eBay.  You will have people.. saying never heard of it.

  If you can afford to order a copy or a few to give to a library that would be great.  We need to make sure that the history of bulletin boards is saved and recorded for all time.  It is also the start of the Internet.  I know that not all of us can afford to spend $50.00 just to give it to a library.  But heck you can watch it or as much as you can stand (Smile) and then donate it.  I wonder if you can get a tax break on that.. Might be worth checking into.  You might end up seeing the DVD for free if you can write it off on your taxes after you donate it.  Smile

  Jason did a labor of love on this documentary.  He will have the great reward of seeing his work complete and in the hands of fans.  He will get to read reviews and I am sure he will be interviewed and more..   But deep down this was a labor of love.  He used to call bulletin board systems.  He used to be the SysOp of a BBS.  He wanted to tell the history of bulletin boards and save the history.  He took years of his life to do this project.   
  If you can afford it.. please buy The BBS Documentary.  I am sure it would make Jason happy to know that people are ordering it and watching it. 
  You might even see the fat old bald ex-Sysop of Howard's Notebook.  Just don't blink.   Smile.. If you do watch all seven hours plus of the documentary and you don't blink then you can post in the comments section here what I said in the documentary.   What was one thing good thing that I got out of having the bulletin board system?  Who will be the first get the DVD set and find that comment by me in the documentary and post it here?

Fired Because of Blog

 

We now know that I was going to be fired  because of my blog.  I guess, to be more honest, it was because there were nude photos of me on my blog.  I was not fired because I quit over a different issue. 
  I am glad that I was not fired over nude photos on my blog.  It might have been hard to get a job.  Some people would think that I was a pervert.  I would hate to have to apply for a job and try and explain the entire matter.  Many people are not understanding.  Many people do not know anything about the Internet or blogs or web sites.  Remember many years ago I had to change hosting sites because their was a link that went from my web site to a web site and on that web site their was a link that went to a photo of a woman's tit.  They told me to remove the link.  I told them to go fuck them self and found a new hosting company.
  If I had been fired I would have set up a web site on the subject and anyone doing any searches for Dadeland Mall or Simon Malls would have found my site.  I would have had all the bad news I could find on those places and links to report them and stuff like that.. You know.. the truth it it would not have cost them one sale, not one cent in profit.. but they would have yelled and screamed and gone nuts.  They would have attempted to force me to remove the sites and they might have taken me to court and the more they did the more stuff I would have had for the site.  If you want to scare the hell out of a big money making corporation.. Well I know how to do it.  I have done it before.  If you were a visitor to my site back in 1999 and 2000 you remember it.
 
  So I am glad that I did not get fired over that.  Would Jim Howard have been mad.  NO truth is that I accept life as it is given to me and I just go on and make the best of it.  Would I have made life hell for some others.  You bet your ass.

   Would it have been legal to fire me.  I say yes.  Was it legal for the mall manager to read private email?  From my reading of the Internet yes it was legal.   Let me point out that I never used the mall email system. I did not have an account.  I never got on the Internet from the mall.  I was sent an email from someone at the mall and I did a reply.  Well, I think the correct thing is a person from the mall posted a comment here and I did a reply to that comment and it went to them on the mall server.  The mall manager reads all the mail.  Now does that make him a low life scum.. yes.. but I  it is legal.  Just because you can do something does not make it right.

     Just so you will know and to give you an idea... Where I work now I use the computer all day.  I  have worked there for over three months.  In all that time I have never logged into my blog or any other blog.  I have never checked my email.  I have never done anything personal.  I have only logged into the two or three sites required to do my job.
     I think that is one reason that people getting fired for blogging upsets me.  I think the job is one place and your personal life is different.  When I go to work... I go to work.   When I am home I do not want to think about work.

     Of course think about how this could have been written for the news.   "Inventor of the blog fired for blogging" or "Father of the blog fired because of his blog." 
     Yes.. I say I invented the blog in 1982.  Yes YES YES... I KNOW the world wide web was not invented until 1992.

     What do you all think about this matter?  Maybe you will pick up on different points.
