The Story of Shasta

Well the guy that is formally charged with kidnapping 8 year old Shasta Greoene had a blog.  His blog is called "Blogging The Fifth Nail."  It is still up at this time.  He has not been before a jury yet but it looks like he killed three people and took Shasta and her brother.  It looks at this time like he killed the boy later after having sex with him.
  The news reports are that Shasta is doing OK.  Well as OK as a child can be after something like this happening.
 
 
  Here is one of the things he says on his blog:

"...We should offer free offender counseling and even amnesty for certain types of offenses if the offender agrees to treatment (before they are caught). That would be a very practical and effective way to reduce sex crimes dramatically. I doubt it will ever happen though, because our society loves the excitement that sex offenders bring into our living rooms through the media and we would be lost without someone to point our fingers at..."

   It looks like the people that do these sorts of crimes... well I don't mean murder.. I mean sex crimes on small children...It looks like they do not stop.  It does not look like they get better.

  Of course I am depending on information from the news.
 
  But right now I think they should be on GPS tracking 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.  If found guilty of having sex with a child under x years of age then they should be tracked by GPS at all times.  They should still go to jail for however long that is going to be ...but when they are not locked behind  bars they should always be tracked by GPS.
  The police would know were they were down to a few feet at all times.  The system could be setup so that an alarm would go off if they enter certain areas (day care centers, schools ...).
  If they can not do that then, I guess, lock them up for life.  Unless I am wrong and it turns out that they can change.  People and the press seem to say that they never change.
