  I am interested in this news report for a number of reasons.  One is that I am interested in communications and hi tech subjects.
  I am also interested in the subject because I worked FAA control tower security for a few months and got to know a number of air traffic controllers. 
  Then, as you know, Ken just finished school and is waiting to be hired by the FAA as an air traffic controller.
  The Bush factor is well known and has been written about in the news.  The United States needs a large number of new air traffic controllers hired.  It takes a great deal of time to train them and get them fully up to speed.  Bush does not want to deal with the NATCA.  Bush does not want to deal with a union.  He does not want to hire any new federal workers if they are going to be in a union.  He does not want to pay union wages.  He would like to contact out the wokers.  So that he could break the union for one thing. 
  So Bush is making a big mess again.  The one place you don't want a big mess is in the sky.

Frequently Asked Questions

  Today was pay day at work.  I have direct deposit.  My pay check goes direct into my account.  That works out well for me. 
  I have to attend our monthly training meeting tomorrow (Saturday) from 7 am to 9 am.  It is not bad for me.  I just live a few blocks away and I am up often to go to the bathroom.  It would be different if I was a person that went to bed and wanted and could sleep for 8  hours. 
  The boss will give out some stuff at the meeting.  He will ask questions or have a drawing or something.  Last time I won some software.  One guy got one of the brand new iPod MP3 units.  If I came home with that, I guess, Russell and Ken would have to fight over it.
 
  I did not get very much done today.  I am trying to setup a Frequently Asked Questions page.  That is something I have worked on from time to time for years.  I just can not get it done.  This new software that I am using might let me do it.  I am just starting on it.  I hope I get the job done this time.  Right now I do not see how I edit something that I have just posted.  If I can't edit an item well then this software is not going to work for me.  Cross your fingers.
  IF I get this FAQ area setup one of the things I would like to do is have a FAQ area that would let you know who the players are in my life.  I will  have to see how that works.  I don't want my family mad at me and not speaking to me. 

  I can't wait to get my new television set.  I never had any TV set with a screen that was 27 inches.  When I lived with Darlene she had a big screen TV set.  Ken, when he had his house, had a large screen TV set.
  The TV set we have here now, it belongs to Ken, is a 19 or 20 inch set.  It is in the living room and with three adult living here I don't get to see much.  My ATI video card did let me see TV on my computer monitor but it is messed up and not working for TV.

  The new TV set should be here about Tuesday.  I am looking forward to some good TV on a "big" screen.

  You got to love the guy.  He speaks the (GOP) party line so well.  He speak so well their party position on traditional family values.
  I think he would be just the guy to write a new book.  The new book should be "Jokes For A Private GOP Event."  We would all like to hear the jokes they tell each other at their private dinner functions.  We could hear all the "nigger" jokes. 
  No what would be better is if they would let C-Span broadcast the event and they let the mike pick up all those jokes. 
   The Republican Party does not care about blacks.   The Republican Party does not care about the poor or the sick or the old.
    Now I find it hard to understand.   Well I just can not wrap my mind around how they think.  They do not love their brother.
     How can you understand people that get an erection when they hear the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange.  How can you understand people that get an erection when they hear that a company is going to lay off x number of people and their profit is going to go up by x amount. 
     These people are from another world.  They do not care about family values unless that family has a seat on the NYSE or unless the head of the family is a CEO or unless blue blood runs in their body.  I am not sure what world they come from but in that world people do not have a heart and ice water flows in their system.

  Thank God.  Everytime I see all those people walking around and shooting their guns into the air.. well I just can not express how pissed off it makes me.  Now I understand that over there it is like our hand shake or something.. But it makes me so mad.  On my part I admit.. I just can not think right when I see that.. I have no respect for those people when I see that.. I would like to see them not fire in the air but just turn the guns on their entire group ...
  I am sure we are still going to see it on TV.   Because I am sure they will say well it is just this area here and it does not apply to this areas...
  You know starting in  1945 or so the Palestinian people started to lose their land and they got screwed over the year.. of course.. later they did all the damage to themself.   Now they can have their own nation.  I hope they don't fuck this up.

  Look at Northern Ireland.  It looks like things are starting to improve and get much better.  I hope it works out in Northern Ireland.  If peace can come to Ireland maybe it can happen in the Middle East.

  What horror and pain for the people of Iraq.  They are not better off because we went into their nation.  It seems clear that Bush is going to go down in history as a very bad president. 
  I agree with us going into Iraq.  I know we should get out when we can.. But I do not believe, sorry to say, that we can just pick up and leave.  Again ...I will say what others have said..   we broke it and now we have to fix it.
  It seems clear to me that Bush wants to get us out and fast.  Well, of course, before the elections here and before we all demand get the fuck out now..and we don't fucking care what happens to Iraq or the Middle East or what it does to our dealing with other nations of the world.  So Bush wants us out.
  I don't know how to fix it now.  I think I know what we should have done.  I will not go into that ... a lot of experts have put that information out there.
  Now I feel so sorry for the people of that area.
  I think some of their brothers in the area should offer to come in and take control  of the area.  What a mess.  Thanks George Bush for that mess.

  It will be interesting to see how Chief Justice John G. Roberts does on the high court.
  I think of the movie Amistad.

  In the movie they need a judge that they can control to sit on the case.  They pick a Catholic judge.  They pick him because he is young and wants to get move up in life.  Maybe he would like to be on the high court of the United States.
  Catholic are not popular at the time.  The people that appoint him to the case think that he would do what they want to move up in the world and over come the fact that he is a Catholic.
  In the movie you can see that he wants to do what they want and he wants to be popular with them  and advance himself in life.  If he rules with those that appointed him he will be doing what the president of the United States wants him to do. 
  In the movie you can see that as much as he wants to rule for the United States and for the President he can not over come his sense of right and wrong...his faith has put into him a sense of honor and an understanding that everyone has God given rights.  He rules for a bunch of blacks who do not even speak English and have every little understanding even of what is happening. 
  For now that is my hope for John Roberts.  He has sworn, on a bible, and now I hope that he will live by law and that his faith will serve him well and all of us.

  I said here that the boy should have gone back to Cuba to be with his father.  I  hated to see the United States have to use federal shock troops to take him away from his family.  But most of all I hated and still hate the way the way his family in Miami acted during the entire event and I bet now.
  I hate the way the Cuban Americans control our relationship with Cuba.  They have done it since 60s.  We are trying to have good terms with Russia,  China and other places in the world.  But the Cuban Americans play games down here. 
  I don't care if Castro sticks his finger in our eye.  It is a small little island 80 miles South of here.  It is no danger to us.  We should have worked out a deal with them.
  Hell if they want to be a Communist island fine.   We can work out a deal.. it can be like six flags over Texas or something..   Hay American people.. want to visit a place and re-live the 50s and 60s.  Visit Cuba and see what a a USSR satellite nation was like.. visit Cuba.  Hell they could make tons of money.. we could make tons of money on travel.   
  Believe me Americans are not going to go and visit the place and come back and say.. I want to change our form of government and have what they have in Cuba. 
  The only problem would be how would we keep them from getting everything new now from the United States and doing away with  what Cuba is now.  People would have to explain to them.. you need to keep this place looking shitty to show what it was like living as part of the Communist International. 
 
  If your not Cuban American and you live down here in the Miami area your not going to say ...how wonderful that these people have come here and had success and built a new life for themself.  I think you will say.. why the hell do they control everything here in Miami and why the fuck don't they go back to Cuba..  Well the truth is you would not have the guts to say it here.  You would have to leave the area.   
  I just hope the last "America" to leave Miami will take down our national colors and take them when he leaves.
  We need to end this war between Cuba and the United States.  If the cold war was still going on and if the USSR was still around and if China were still a red nation  then OK.. but those times are over and it is a new world.
  If anything happens to me.. it will be cause of this post.  Remember that.

Bush's poll numbers up

  Bush's poll numbers are up. They are up just where I said that they would be...I said he would go up 5%.  But he went up that five % much faster than I expected.  I guess I always fail to understand just how dumb a large number of Americas can be and how they can fall for damage control and flags in the back ground and flying someplace in Air Force One.
  Of course 45 percent for the President of the United States is not good. 

Love - China and USA

  Jimmy's girl friend got a visa from China.  She can come to the United States in a few days.  Jimmy and her will be going to California.  They will be in California for a couple of weeks and then the girl from China will be going to Texas to live with Jimmy.

  I am not sure where and when they will be married.  Jimmy would like to get married in Kansas City by his friend Rev. Troy.  But the travel and everything would cost some money and I am not sure he can afford it right now.   Jimmy has to get back to Texas and get himself a job.
  Think about the change and the shock to this girl.  She is leaving her country.  She is leaving her mother and father behind in China.  She is moving to Texas and ...what a shock..she is going to become part of the Howard family.   OH NO>>>  think of the REAL shock   >> she is going to meet Jimmy's mother (Darlene, my ex-wife).  It maybe good if this girl does NOT understand English.

  I am very happy for Jimmy.  He is such a sweet person.  He is kind to everyone and very trusting.  I hope he gets a good job.  He is a hard worker.  I wish they would move down here. 
  Jimmy and her are going to start out life with nothing.  Jimmy is, I think, 28 years of age.  I am sure they will make it.  She has been working 60 hours a week cleaning rail road cars in China.  I hope she does a blog.  Think about reading that blog.  Seeing America with her eyes.  Learning about America and recording in a blog the start of a new life in a new nation.

Dick in Miami

  Dick from Kansas City made it to Miami today.  He transports trucks now for a living. 

I met him in down town Miami and we got something to eat.  Then I wait with him at the bus station for the bus to take him to Atlanta GA.
Dick was one of the first people to visit Howard's Notebook.  He was visiting Howard's Notebook when people used 300 baud modem.  He has been a good friend for years.  We lived in the same city and so we met a few times.  He is a amateur radio operator also.
