  I been having some blue screen crashes.  You run Windows you know that screen.  Then the computer will re-boot.  The errors are if I try and run some web cam programs or try and make some changes to the video that I sned out.
  I don't want errors having to do with running my web cam. 
  I pulled out the TV card that was in the computer but still have the problems.
 
  It is 1 am and I have to be up at 5 am.  I am going to bed.   I will work on the video problems before.

Immigration

  Jimmy called me for my help.  His girl friend needs someone to fill out forms for her with the INS.  I am not sure just what her current status is here except she will have to return to China in 90 days unless they can use me to file some sort form to show that I will support her. 
  She is a hard worker and they plan to get married but right now she can not stay until someone agrees to file the necessary forms. 
  Of course I am going to do it.  Jimmy loves here and I hope she loves him.  I want to help all my kids, in any way that I can... I called the IRS and they are going to send me my tax forms, in a format that the INS likes, for the last three years.  I will have to send those and some more paper work to the INS.  I should have the tax returns in 7 to 10 days.
  I hope this works out OK.  The clock is ticking.   Life is hard.

  This is Halloween night in the United States. 

Hot Weather and Rain

  The weather is going to turn hot here and we are going to get rain.  It is going to be hard on those people that do not have power yet and those that have roof damage to their homes.  I feel so sorry for them.  There are over 250,000 just in Miami-Dade that do not have power yet.  A great many people have roof damage and I mean major damage and when it starts to rain.. well it is going to be bad for them.
  On Politics:  I hear on the news that right wing of the GOP is going nuts over Judge Samuel Alito.  They fucking lover him.  That tells you right there that this guy is not good for the common man.  Well just the fact that Bush picks him tells you that he is not good for the nation.  I think he will be approved and we are going to suffer... well you are going to suffer with him for a long long time.  I am old and he will be fucking you over long after I am dead..........People are wondering if Scooter Libby is going to make a deal.  He faces 30 years in jail.  Will he "rat" out the others at the white house?  I do not think he will.  I think he knows that Bush will pardon him just days before Bush leaves office.  So they can drag out the trial and have a lot of appeals and he will server very little time.  Something to think about also is can you find a jury that will not have one hard cord GOP member on it.  It only takes one guy on the jury to hold out for not guilty...........When it goes to court Rove and others will be called into court and in public will have to answer questions and that is not going to  be pretty.  It might be worth it just to have the trial and see them have to answer hard questions.
 

 
 

Hurricane Preparedness

We did pretty good this time (Wilma).  I want to be more prepared next time however.  We had water for more than 3 days.  Plus we never lost water.  We had food but it was very dull eating.  But we had food.
  Ken got some emergency food that was pretty neat. 

  You open up the box and take out the food.  There is a tray.  You put the packet of salt water in the tray and it starts heating up. You put the food upside down on the tray and put the tray and the food back in the box and it heats up.  Steam comes out of the box and you let it cook for about 15 minutes.
 

  Ken tested it out and said it was not bad. 

  Russell gave it a test.

 

Miami Dade Curfew Power

  We have been under a curfew here in FL.  The curfew is now midnight to 6 am.  Ken was out tonight after dark and he said we are lucky.  There are still a lot of major places on major streets that do not have power yet.  There are going to be a lot of employees that are going to be hurting.  The wages down here in FL are low.  The cost of rent is high and you all know now that the price of gas is high.  There will be a lot of people that are going to be short of money.
  I am not sure how you would help those people.  I do not think that the Red Cross or FEMA help people for lost wages. 

  I do not like daylight saving time.  It is a jolt when the time changes two times a year.  I worked the midnight shift for years and years and you get used to the season and the changes and the sun set or sun rise and they go and change it on you. 

  I think it is great that Rosa Parks was given the honor of having her casket in the Capitol Rotunda. 

  Thank God I am not doing hospital security now.  I am very lucky to have the job with CompUSA and that it is so close.  I walk to work each day. 
 

Jimmy has a job

Darlene called and said that Jimmy got a job.  It is at a taco place two blocks away from where they live.
  She also said that Jimmy's girl friend, and wife to be, can not get a social security card.  She needs someone to co-sign for her.  It seems Jimmy can not do it.  You have to have made a certain amount of money each year for the last x number of years.

  The weather is great right now down here.  We never turned the air conditioner on when we got power.

  I was at the window and did not  have power and could not see my camera.  I wanted to take a single snap shot but I hit the wrong button and got a few seconds of the storm.

I should have done more video like this.. I was fearful of filling my SD card.  I need a bigger SD card or a couple of them.  I hope we don't have any more storms like this however.

On Again Off Again

We lost power at about 0300 hours today (Sunday 10-30-05) and we got it back at 1100 hours. 
You people know I post often to the blog and I send out video via ShowMeCam 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.. So ..if you don't see me posting or see the web cam in operation you will know we have problems here at this end.  Wilma did a number on the bottom half of FL.
  I had just gone to bed last night when we lost power.  Russell was down loading a TV program that he loves and he had 3 minutes until it was complete.  He sat, in the dark, at the computer for some time waiting for the power to return.  (I just checked with Russell and he said he only lost 2 megs of it and it is starting the download from where we lost power.  He will not have to download the video all over again.)

"How sweet it is"

  This is me watching Wilma blasting the leaves off the trees and knocking the trees down.  I was not worried at the time.  I knew it hit the West Coast as a Cat 3 but I was thinking it would be a Cat 2 and we had just had a Cat 1.  I might have put on my pants and been worrying if I had know it was still a Cat 3.

"Thank You Jesus"

I was laying on my bed and I heard a yell, from next door I think, of "Thank You Jesus" and then Russell came into my room and said we got power "and i am not kidding." 
  We lost power here, due to Wilma, very early on Monday and we have been without power until today (Saturday afternoon). 
 
  After the storm was over I went out and took some photos.
