People seem to think that Tom Cruise is gay. I am not sure why they think he is gay.
People seem to think he may suffer from mental problems.
I wonder if he had mental problems and that is why he became a member of the Church of Scientology or if he was normal and after he became a member the church teachings drove him nuts.
I think I am the oldest person at work. There has been one guy that I have been wondering about. A real nice guy that works the door. He has been checking packages as people leave.
I would see him each day. He came in about an hour after i would start work and I would leave each day and say good night to him as I left. We shook hands a few times. It is something "they" do down here.
My guess was that he was near my age.
I had not seen him for a few days and they had someone different at the door. I found out today that the guy had died. He had a heart attack. They said he was 62 years old.
I can not think of anyone now near my age. Other than the general manager I think I am about twice the age of everyone working at the place.
They took up a collection for the family of the guy that died. He seemed like a very nice guy. Other than saying hello and goodbye to him that was about all we said. He asked me to price a display near the check out one time. I did it right away and I thanked him for letting me know about it. The next day he came over and thanked me for doing it and said I did an excellent job.
I have seen a lot of people die. When you work hospital security you respond on all "code" so you see the staff working on the person and often you have to talk to the family and keep them out of the room.
I have seen people die and had to keep family under control. I have can remember more than one time being with a mother and her baby was being worked on in the ER and I knew the baby was dead and the mother would be asking me how things were going. I have had fellow workers and friends of mine shot and killed. I have released a lot of dead bodies. That is another thing that a hospital security officer will do as part of his job.
If I had my life to live over again.. well I would hope that I was not a hospital security officer ...hell I would hope that I was not a security officer. But if I had to work security .. I would pick something other than a hospital. I have seen more than my share of death and pain.
Someday a hospital security officer will open the doors and let the people in to pick up my body. They will check the tag on my body and the people will sign for my body they will leave with my body. The guard will take the receipt and file it away and make a note on his activity sheet that he released the body of Jim Howard at such and such a time and too see receipt number such and such.
You know it does not matter who you are or how much money you have... You can be the wife of a president of the United States, or the president of the United States, or one of the hospital security officers at that hospital killed in the line of duty.. You body will be released and a receipt will be filled out and signed and put in a file.
My feelings about the immigration issue may have changed since I started living down here in Miami. I may not be as fair and honest and decent a man as I was before I moved here. I am sorry to have to admit that fact.
I think a nation should control access to border. For me that has nothing to do with the color of the skin of the people on the other side of the border or if the speak Spanish. It just seems to make sense to control access.
Because of President Bush giving money to the rich and because he took us into a war and has spent tons of money I am not sure we can afford to fix the border problem. I think Bush has fucked us good. (It is not just the border problem.. I think because of Bush we can not afford a real space program or to even fix New Orleans.)
I hate it that new problems pop up all the time. I found this link about bed bugs back and biting. I think my mother and father might have said to me, as a child, "sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite."
Maybe we need to go back to DDT. It will kill everything. OK it will kill us and our children but maybe that is better than going to bed at night and having bugs bite you and drink your blood.
It is interesting that they show up at high-end hotels and fancy resorts. I guess there are good reasons to be poor and not travel.
OK I am having a bit of fun here. I know they are not new ...but I just think it is not right that new problems pop up for people.
I hate television. OK I love television and movies.
I can remember before television came to Kansas City. I was out side playing guns and playing cow boys and Indians. I did listen to the radio sometimes. Then television came to Kansas City. We had a TV set waiting for the station (WDAF) to start broadcasting. That was in 1949 and I would have been 8 at the time.
All those early TV shows I saw live and not in living color because that came later.
Now there is a lot of great stuff on television but there is a lot of stuff that makes me mad as hell and I don't want to take it any more. I think now maybe it has something to do with my age, I am 64, because it is not just that I don't like the program ...it makes me mad. I hate some of those shows.
It maybe that I hate them because I know that people spend their time watching that crap.
I love some of the news shows. The news networks are great. CSpan is great and PBS is great. But a lot of the stuff on TV makes me mad. That is not normal. I don't have to watch it. It should not brother me. I must have to do with age. Don't worry i am not going to take a gun and shoot up a TV station or anything.
I have an idea for a new business.. You get some land like for a shooting range and you get old TV sets and hook them up.. does not matter if the video is not good and then you charge people to shoot the TV sets. Maybe you could add other things for people to shoot. Now I do not think you should put of photos of people. That would just be asking for problems and if anyone did, in real life, shoot one of those people you would be in court and broke fast. I think it would have to things like TV sets, cell phones, cars etc.
The cell phone would be good.. rig up some fake ones that ring and people could blast away at them for a fee.
You know I think the world has gone mad. You know I think everyone is crazy or on drugs.
The Miami police are planning in your face shows of force in public places. The say the random high-profile security operations will keep terrorists guessing about where the officer might be next.
People are being shot dead in the streets here every day. I am in Miami by the way. Car accidents, school bus accidents...you name it and it happens here. The news is filled with this stuff. Now let me point out something to you.. I come from Kansas City, Missouri. More people live in Kansas City than in Miami and the land area of Kansas City is bigger than Miami. So I am not some boy from some hick small town.
Having a large number of fat donut eating cops show up at a shopping mall and hit on the shop girls is not going to keep me safe. And as I have said for a long time.. if these guys, with hoods and mask and military gear, want to be in the military we can find a place to send them that can use them.
If they want to keep me safe and be police officers then get the fuck into high crime areas. Show up in those areas in force. You want to keep me safe? Then enforce traffic laws.
This is a dumb idea. The first time they show up at a mall everyone will run for cover thinking there is a bomb or something. People will be calling the news and reporting that something is going on at such and such a place.
Of course.. I can tell you that when the scare off customers from the mall or any other place that those people will be calling the police and telling them keep the fuck away from our business. The police will listen to them.
This is not going to have any effect on terrorists. However if I were a terrorists and I wanted to attack here I would use it. You could have x number of people show up someplace in police/military type uniforms and get access and say you were part of the new Miami "in-your-face" show of force program. Or maybe just time your attack on the other side of town when the police do their show of force in a certain place. So if the police show up at the South end of Miami and they have bomb experts and command officers and all those at that location and if it is rush hour then you attack at the North end of Miami.
But the truth is ... how do we catch a terrorist or a serial killer or someone like that.. Like "Son of Sam" and others it is because of a traffic ticket or car stop. It is not from a show of force someplace.
Let me tell you that tons of money are being spend to fight the terrorists by cities, states and the feds and the money is not being spend well. It is being wasted.
CNN says this was a "brutal and record-setting season" for hurricanes. CNN also says this was the worst hurricane season on record.
I was just watching CNN and they had a report about a new site: www.mapgasprices.com for people in the United States. It uses the Google Map service and give you the prices of gas in your area. Pretty neat and a lot of sites are using Google Map.
I also read on CNN about New Orleans Free WiFi Internet service. Great idea and it will help with the re-building if people can connect to the Internet.
Ken got a letter today saying that he has been selected for the position of Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS). He will have to attend training in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Classes will be last approximately 11 weeks. The job is a "Temporary Excepted Appointment" for 6 months. If he completes the training and all evaluations required he will be converted to a permanent position. His duty location will be determined upon satisfactory completion of the training. He will not get moving expenses.
I did not get any ideas about that photo that I posted. I was thinking that someone might say they knew the uniforms or something. I wonder if the woman in the photo might be a member of the English royal family. I think the photo is a number of years old. Well have not heard any thing but someone sent a another photo.
Any ideas on this photo? I am not going to end up posting every photo like this but I do wonder if these photos are real and who and when they were taken. I guess in this case I wonder why the photo was taken.
I went 13 hours with out drinking anything. I went 12 hours with out eating. I went into work at 7 am and was at work three hours. I had to use the bath room two times during that three hours.
I did feel weak and felt like I could faint. I never have that sort of feeling. I also felt a bit sick. I hope I do not have to go with out food and drink 12 hours each day in order to work.
Someone sent a message and said that maybe I should drink a lot of water. I may try that if the problems stays. Maybe try it on after work so if I have to move into the bathroom it will not make me miss work.
The person said also that it sounds like I may have a urinary tract infection that comes and goes and never completely clears up. I agree with that.. I have some pains in my lower back. The person agreed with me that it could be prostrate enlargement. The person said it is also a symptom of diabetes. I know that ..but God I do not even want to think about that. Diabetes is a something I would not want to live with.. I should be tested.
I am not sure what I will do today and tonight. I hate to go 12 hours without food and drink. I however also do not want to go to work tomorrow and pee on the floor at work.
