Virginia expresses "profound regret" for slavery

  Just at a time when I am starting to think maybe we need slavery again.. The State of Virginia expresses regret for slavery. 

  Russell is still sick but he went to the movies today and saw "The Number 23" and he said it was very good.  He came right home and went to bed at 9 PM.  He has tomorrow off.

  Well, no thanks to the Colonial Bank, today my bank moved my money from the holding area over into my account.  It took 30 days for them to release it. 

  I am so sick and tired of all the Anna Nicole Smith crap on TV.  FOX is very bad about it but CNN is not far behind. 

   I was messing with Linux today.  I have a dual boot system and have Window XP Home edition and openSUSE 10.2 installed.  I got the sound working the other day.  I am having some problems getting Java installed.  I messed with that today and not sure I got it done. 

30 Day Have Passed Correct?

 

  It was 30 days ago that I made the big error of using a Colonial Bank ATM.  My bank said that since Colonial Bank would not FAX on their letter head that I would have to wait 30 days to get access to my $400.00 and it has been 30 days correct?
  It was on the 24th of last month and it is now the 24th of this month.  Of course today is a Saturday.  We can not expect a bank to function on a Saturday.  Then we have Sunday and we know that is a day of rest for God and banks.
  By the way if I had been dealing with a car rental I would not have had to wait 30 days but 90 days to get access to my money.
 
  If you do a Google Search for "Colonial Bank" my Colonial Bank Sucks web site is number 6 on the first page.  If you do a search for "Colonial Bank + Dadeland" I have two listings and they are number 1 and 2 on the first page.
  You know if I were in Montogomery Alabama on the 25th floor of the Colonial Bank HQ building sitting behind my CEO desk and it came to my attention that the "manager" of the branch in Dadeland (Miami) had fucked up by not Faxing a simple letter so an old man on Social Security could get an error corrected and get his SS money and because of that.. our entire operation had bad PR all over the FUCKING GOD DAM Internet.. I would fucking fire that manager so FUCKING FAST.. God Dam Internet.
  I suspect that CEO is trying to make major million dollar deals..and will be talking to some guy in China or some fucking place..and the person will say..what about this "Colonial Bank" site on the Internet.. The guy will say in broken English..I did a search on the Internet and I found this site... Fucking Internet.

  Russell is feeling better.  He is still sick.  Thank God he has off today and tomorrow.

  Well I am out of money and food and I do not get my SS money for 5 days.  But last night Ken and Russell ordered in pizza and I got some for free. 
  I get SS money on the 4th Wednesday of each month.  I get $175.00 (hospital retirement money) on the 1st day of each month.  I get the adult video commissions about the 19th of each month.  I have had a CafePress shop for years and have never received an commission from them.  There is a shop set up under me that gets me some commissions but it is just enough so that it pays for the cost of the CafePress shop.  The PayPerPost is new for me and I am not sure when they pay their commission.  I have been selling stuff on eBay when I need some money but I need to pay them $59.00 and until I pay them I can't list any item on my eBay site. 
  When the school loan is paid off I will be getting about $150.00 each month extra from SS and that will help a great deal.  I pay about $150.00 each month for cable (TV and Cable modem service).  I am thinking of doing away with the TV part.  But I got a special rate for the high speed Internet because of the TV plan that I have and so if I cancel the TV I would have to pay for the the high speed plan plus I think they charge an extra $10.00 since I would not be taking TV and when it all comes out at the end.. My cable bill does not go down that much and I don't have any TV.)
  I do have a number of small payments that I have to make each month.  One is for this site (I have to pay TypePad) and then there are a number of hosting sites and it all adds up. 
  I need to setup a right wing blog.  Then I could put some adult video banners on it and make a lot of commission.  Anyone have a good name for a right wing pro Bush web site?

"Google has been offering a free version of its online software suite called Google Apps for the past six months. More than 100,000 small businesses and hundreds of universities nationwide are using the free service, Google said.

The fee-based version, Google Apps Premier Edition, includes five times more e-mail storage _ 10 gigabytes per e-mail box _ as well as a guarantee that all services will be available 99.9 percent of the time with around-the-clock technical support. Google also is adding mobile access to e-mail accounts through the BlackBerry devices that tether workers to their offices. "This is a big step for us, but I think it's a reasonable step," Google Chief Executive Eric Schmidt said in an interview Wednesday. "Our product is so cheap that it's sort of no-brainer to try it out..."

  I just signed up for the free version.  It uses GMail for the mail program.  You have to have a domain name to use the Google Apps service.  I am using the domain name of:  showmecam.us for it.  I can not fully check it out until the DNS information gets posted.  I will let you know what I think of it.

  I posted in the blog about the parking here.  They have started to toe cars not parked correct.  The other night at 0330 hours (yes 3:30 am) the two guys that live in one of the condos here pulled into the parking lot and someone was parked in their parking space.  They were blasting on their horn. 
  The next day I could see they drive a red jeep.  They have New York tags.  I see them come and go often.  Just now a pick up truck was parked in their spot and they parked behind it to block it.  The driver of the pick up drove forward over the parking bumper to get out of the parking space.  Just minutes after he left the tow truck showed up.  So the two guys had called to have the truck towed. 
  I got a feeling that there is going to be trouble over that parking space soon.  I look for a fight or something to happen.  Hell I just hope I can get video of it all for you.
  I do not know if it is like this in other nations but here in the United States everyone wants to park at the front door.  No one wants to have to park and walk very far.  Everyone seems to think they are special when it comes to parking.  People go nuts over parking in a certain spot.

Comment on My Bush Post

  The following is a comment from someone that did not agree with me picking Bush as the worst president of all time.

"I just read your “bit” about President Bush being the worst President this country has ever had. While I don’t agree with all f his policies, I truly believe he would be in the top third or even quarter of all our Presidents. He has the misfortune of being in office at the time when the mainstream media has to fill 24 hours with 2 hours worth of news, and they have truly prostituted themselves at the altar of “political correctness”. Rather than merely being the mouthpiece of the radical wing of the Democratic Party, I am disappointed that you have chosen to fall into the trap of letting short term events cloud long term judgments. 

I would greatly prefer a man of ideals, principals, and moral standards to the jackass we had in office previously. Governing by polls, which can be EASILY manipulated by the media in both question and interpretation, is not leadership. President Bush may not be Mr. Reagan,. But he is the next best President during my lifetime—dating back to President Eisenhower.

Kennedy was an attractive, but largely ineffective, figure. Johnson was a good ole boy who couldn’t decide whether he wanted to fight crime, poverty, communists, hippies, or Republicans. Nixon was an outstanding foreign policy president but had all the charm of a rattle snake. Ford should never have been President—he was better suited to staying in the House…forever. Carter was the most inept President that we have ever had. He may have been a nice guy with good intentions, but he was USELESS in office. We can also thank him for the nonsense in N. Korea after he negotiated to give them $5B with nothing but empty promises in return. There is a prime candidate to top your list! Reagan was a great man, and I didn’t even vote for him the first time—boy how I wish I had that vote back! President Bush (the first) was a politician who was not a Reagan Republican—his loss. Clinton …where does one start! Two-faced liar come to mind. His ONLY saving grace was the fact he got to fool around in the White House while the internet bubble was expanding, and he was able to get out just as it was bursting. Thank you Mr. Clinton for the very nice recession—we appreciated it very much. By the way, swearing to a lie is still perjury for the rest of us common people. Mr. Bush (the second), is a man who can make mistakes, but if we had the same media as now, we could never have survived the American Revolution, the Civil War, or either World War. For that, I put the blame squarely on you and your colleagues whose opinions are either given them by the nut wing of the Democratic Party or formulated by the media in attempts to create the news rather than report it. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!!!!"    

Russell is sick

  Russell is sick.  He has been sick for a few days.  He missed his first day of work today.  He has been sleeping for about two days.  So far Ken and I are not sick.

A Joomla Template Kit

  I have about four, maybe more, Joomla sites.  I used to have about that many PHPNuke sites.  I love to set up web sites and try out new software.  I enjoy getting it too look just the way I want it to look.
  I have found no matter what software I use the key thing to make it a great looking site is the Template.  They say it is not hard to design a template.  It looks hard to me.  I paid one guy $50.00 to create me a PHPNuke template.  I never used it.  It is hard to tell someone what you want. 
  When I went to using Joomla software I found a lot of great templates.  There were a few that were free.  The best looking and most powerful cost money.  I do not even want to think about how much I have spent on Joomla templates.  I paid for three from one site.  I signed up for a year membership on another site so I would have access to their templates.
  I got some great templates but if I could just make my own they would be so much better.
  I found a site ClubTVK that has a kit that teaches you how to make your own templates and comes with 50 templates. 

    I wish I had found them a few months ago.  You get Joomla templates and a 91 page Joomla template e-book and 5 templates with full instructions.  That would be all I need.
   I would like to make my own templates.  I do not think I would ever be good enough to do it as a business but I would like to create a few special templates and offer them for sale.  I think I could do it with this kit.
  Soon as I can come up with $45.00 I am going to be getting the ClubTVK Kit.

PayPerPost - Make Money with Blog

There is a new way to make money if you blog.

 It is called PayPerPost. 

"Ted Murphy, CEO of advertising firm Mindcomet, has launched a new service called PayPerPost.com. You guessed it, it’s a marketplace for companies to connect with bloggers who are willing to blog about a product - for a price. The companies can set guidelines for their requests such as whether a picture must be included and whether they will only pay for positive blog coverage. There does not appear to be any requirement that the payment for coverage be disclosed. There is a requirement that PayPerPost.com must approve your post before you are paid. Wow..."   TechCrunch

  Right now there is a debate going on about PayPerPost.  "Business Week" gave it "scathing" coverage in an article called "Polluting the Blogosphere."

 I am signed up for PayPerPost.  You know me I have to check out everything and try it out.  Over the years you have seen me tell you about tons of things here first.  XCom, PayPay and everything else right here. Hell I told you to buy domain names before anyone knew what in the hell a domain was and before their was a world wide web.  I told you to buy domain names when there was an Internet but before the web was invented.  I wish I had followed my own advice about buying domain names I would be rich.
  So I am signed up for PayPerPost.  I will only pick one of their subjects if it is something that I would comment on any way here.  I will always tell you that I am getting paid for the post.   The fact that I am getting paid will not effect what I tell you about the subject.
  It may turn out that there is nothing for me to post about. 

  How do I feel about the subject of PayPerPost?  I do not think that it will have a bad effect for you the reader of blogs.  Your going to find some blogs that you can tell they are just posting on subjects to get paid.  I found one such site.  It is not an interesting read.  I have no desire to visit it again or read their blog.
  I think the bad effect will be for the blogger.  You will have people not being open, honest and interesting and they will have blogs that suck.  The blogger will be the person that get hurt.
  All of you are smart enough that you can tell if someone is just posting to a blog to make $5.00 or $10.00 from the post.

What Should a 40 Year Old Know

  I just had someone use Google and used for the search string "I am 40 years old and I don't go to the doctor what should I know" and that got me thinking.

  It got me thinking on two levels.  One just answer his question and the other was take each age and ask that question and try and answer and it might be interesting.
  What should a 10 year old know?
  What should a 15 year old know?
  What should a 20 year old know?
  What should a 30 year old know?
  What should a 40 year old know?
  What should a 50 year old know?
  What should a 60 year old know?
  and
  What should a 70 year old know?

Anyone care to help me answer the questions?

  On the 40 year old guy that was asking about the doctor.  I never went to the doctor myself.  Even now I put it off as much as I can.
  My advice to a 40 year old would be do see the doctor for a check up from time to time.  He may live in the United States and be working full time and not have any health insurance.  I think he should still try and find a way to see a doctor.
  What we do not understand in the United States is that it would lost us less if we made sure that he could afford to see a doctor.  If he has problems and they are not treated then later he ends up not working and he can't pay taxes and he ends up cost us much more money.
  If your 40 years old and you are not going to see a doctor my advice would be make out a will.  My advice would be try and live a healthy life.  Do not smoke.  Do not drink too much.  Eat the right foods.  Try and keep your self in good shape and take care of yourself.  If you flat out can not afford health care and I was that way from age 59 to 65 then try and find some way to get some medical screening done.   Anyone else have any advice?

  I will not get into it now but what should a 10 year old know?  Not talking about the medical side now.  From the hits we get from boys 11 to 15 about penis size that is one area a 10 year old should know about.  Sex education should be given.  A boy should know about his penis and about erections and about size.  He should not have to do a search on the Internet at age 12 or 13 and end up at ShowMeBlog looking for answers.
  What else should a 10 year old know?  I would hope he has a father and mother that love him and that he knows they love him.
  OH one very important thing would be a 10 year old should know how to use the Internet and not use the Internet.  They should know about the dangers lurking out on the Internet and how to protect themselves.  That would be very important to day. 
  Those that are 10 years old should know about the common basic life rules.  If they have a belief in God that should take care of it.  If they are not part of a faith then they need those values some how to be learned and lived. 
  Any ideas are input welcome on the subject.

Cyberbullies

  OK this is a new word for me "cyberbullies" and a new idea.  I know that sort of thing takes place.  In fact it takes place all the time.  It is one reason I don't have a chat room up.  
  I may be wrong about this..but I don't think a law will do any good.  It has to do with the way kids live their life.  It has to with education.  I do not want "Religion" to be taught in public schools but we do need to teach and demand right living and right thinking. 
  I do not think that you have to say that God has rules that you do not lie and that you honor your father and mother.  You just teach that decent people and people of honor conduct them self with certain standards.

  I would like to see our high schools all be military.  Have them be full time ROTC training for all kids.  The kids would be in uniform at all times.  Now if people object for reasons of Religion then have those kids go to a different school.  But it should still have some sort of training and rules just with out the military training.
  Of course it is not going to happen.  States decide on education.  Not only that local elected boards of education decide on education.  

  I believe in "public" education...but come to think of it.. I never attended public school.  I went to Catholic schools.  I went to Catholic grade school and to a Catholic military high school. 
  Now if you went to a public high school and you had ROTC in your school well that was nothing like the Catholic military high school (De La Salle Military Academy) that I went too.  We were in uniform all the time.  We had ROTC (it was a 55c school) every day.  We had it for half a day on Friday.  We did not just say the pledge of allegiance each day.  We were in formation with M1 weapons in front of the school with a band and honors were given to the flag as it went up in the morning.  
  Because of my age I may think that all the kids now are wild and going to ruin the nation.  Like I said it maybe my age.  I suspect that most all of the kids now are great.  I hope they are because they are going to be taken care of me soon.
  But I think most of the problems we have in the United States are because of poor education of our kids.

  It looks like I am going to be a busy little bee.  It looks like Colonial Bank is a big corporation. 
  I think I should visit all 300 branches in the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Nevada and Texas.  I will stand out side and pass out information about what I think of the Colonial Bank.
  I can start with the branches in Florida first since I am here.  Anyone have a room they can let me sleep in when I visit AL, GA, NA and TX? 

  I still do not have my $400.00 and it is clear that not only is Colonial Bank not going to correct their two ATM errors they are not even going to reply to the letter that I sent to their HQ in Alabama.  What sort of business does not make an attempt to correct errors or at least send back a letter when you write them?  
  My recommendation is do not have any dealing with Colonial Bank.  Do not have any dealings with Colonial Bancgroup Inc.  Sell your stock.  Do not open accounts with them.  Do not take out loans with them.  What have I forgot?

  I am not mad that the Colonial Bank (Dadeland branch) ATM crashed and made an error.  I am a little pissed that the ATM did not correct the problem and signal my bank that the transactions did not take place and release my money.
  I am very up set that the manager of the Colonial Bank (Dadeland branch) refused to FAX to my bank the two or three lines needed on their letter head that would have released the hold on my money.  I would have had access to my money.  I would not have had to be late paying my rent.  I would not have had to pay a $55.00 late fee.  I would not have had to spend $5.00 sending a letter to AL.  I would not have had to post anything on this blog.
  All of you should be pissed at Colonial Bank because you have had to read my rants and raves about what a fucking un-professional company they are... 
  Now your going to have to read about my visits to their local banks and see photos of me standing on the side walk passing out information to their customers.
  I suspect they are sitting back laughing and thinking they will just have me arrested for trespassing or something.  I do not plan to trespass.  I was a security officer for 30 years so I know about the law and trespassing so I don't plan on getting arrested but if they swing it some way I will try and get my mug shot and post it here on ShowMeBlog. 

  One share of their stock is going to cost me $26.00 and then I can attend their stock holders meetings.
