I just read this news report from July 11th on line. A gang rape of a woman in West Palm Beach FL. It took place in a public housing project of 226 units spread across 17 acres called Dunbar Village. The story says the average rent is $150.00 a month.

The attack took place over three hours and neighbors had to have heard the screams. Up to 10 masked teenagers raped her and in the other room beat her 12 year old son. Then at gunpoint she was forced to perform oral sex on her son.

I know the bad areas of Kansas City Missouri. But I have been here in Miami FL for three years and I don't know all the bad areas.
It sounds like the ten or so teenage boys that did this crime are going to do hard time and are going to be in jail for a very very long time. You have to wonder what they will be like when they get out.

Maybe I should say something good about him. He served in the military during WWII. That makes him an odd duck for a Republican in congress. Very few members of the GOP in congress have served in the military.
Some how I have ended up with no virus detection. I always had it. But I must have had it expire.
I am broke so I looked around for free virus detection software.

They offer it free because they have "unobtrusive ads" and they say that allows them to give you world-class security protection at no cost.
I just installed it. I like the look and feel of it. So far it looks good to me. Now I did install their tool bar. You don't have to install it and you can turn it off.
The other site, I guess, that has free virus software is: Crawler. But I could not find the free virus detection software. .
Everyone has been talking about Lindsay Lohan. The truth is I am not good at remembering who was in what TV show or movie. I can't tell you who is married to who and all that sort of stuff.
So people been talking about her and I had no idea who she was... It turns out I have been a fan. I did not know she was the girl in "The Parent Trap" a cute little film that I like.
I may not be saying much about films here. I cancelled my Blockbuster membership. I can't afford to be paying $21.00 each month for videos. It is also hard for me to find movies. I have seen everything many times over.
Today I been eating too much. I went to CVS and got $20.00 worth of junk food. I got Cheez-It and Pringles and all sorts of stuff that is no good for me. My feet are going to be swelling up like crazy.
I don't drink or smoke but I lack control when it comes to stuff like junk food.

Gingrich is a very smart guy. I think he is correct. He also said however that the GOP will have three "formidable" choices in Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson. I do not agree. I think they all have problems. I do not think they will do well. If I had to pick the best of the three I would pick Mitt Romney. I know lots of people are counting on Fred Thompson. But this is not TV this is real life.
Gingrich has the brains to be President of the United States but he has a lot of problems in his past. If the GOP ran him we would all get an education and the debates would be great.
I hope the ticket is Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. Being the Vice President of Hilary Clinton would be different because of Bill Clinton. You know she is going to use him and get advice from him.
So we could go from now having a very powerful Vice President back to normal or less and have a weak VP. I think Hilary Clinton should tell Obama that she is only going to do the one term. Plus I think Hilary and Bill Clinton should both do everything to get Obama ready. I do not think that is going to happen however.. She is going to want two terms.
It would be nice if she and Bill would think of what is best for the nation.
A friend sent me two lottery tickets for the GA Mega Millions lottery. It was for 7/24/2007 and the jackpot was $44 million dollars. I wanted to check the tickets until I was feeling lucky. Well I just checked the tickets and I did not win. No one won and the jackpot is now at $65 million dollars.
I told you the other day I went to the store and got $100.00 worth of food. I been eating and eating. I am at almost 210 pounds (I was at 204). I think I can lose the weight in August because I am going to run out of money and food. That is one way to go on a diet. Smile
I have been having almost zero chest pain. I do have a tightness all the time.
I just took my blood pressure and it was 135/62. That is normal. It is better than it has been. Maybe the medication is working.

Back many months ago I nominated ShowMeBlog for the Blogger's Choice Award. I voted for SMB. That was one vote. I just went and did a check and SMB still has just one vote. Smile
So far today we had 599 people come to SMB. I will say it again.. I get no respect. Smile
I have been working on Howard's Notebook for the last day or two. I think it is starting to look real good but I still have a great deal of work that I need to do on it.
I want HNB to be the place that I put my political comments. I also want it to be an area were I cover other subject in more depth. Now I have made this attempt many times in the past. One it is hard for me thing on HNB. I will often just post to SMB and then think later that it should have gone to HNB.
Also HNB gets almost no traffic. You guys are busy and you check out SMB but you don't want to spend the time to check out HNB. Then I think what is the point in doing a lot of work on something and put it on HNB and no one will see it.
But I am working again on HNB and trying to get it in shape. Right now.. I have a lot of things I need to set up. If you want to see a work in progress then check out:
