Critical Mass is a worldwide movement to promote the use of bicycles as a viable means of transportation. It has arisen in response to what many call the "car-culture:" an overdependence on the private automobile. It is, more than anything else, a reclamation of space, a demonstration to show that the city belongs to people and not machines. We're not protesting, we're CELEBRATING our vision of a preferable alternative mode of transportation in the city of Atlanta…”
It looks like for months Critical Mass has been having their bike ride and breaking traffic laws. This month the Atlanta police decided to enforce traffic laws.
I support the cause of Critical Mass but they have no right to ride and break traffic laws. My guess is that they are not applying for a permit and willing to pay for police to escort and direct the bikes on the route.
I do not understand what makes Critical Mass think they can ride a bike through a red light.
