I been watching the events going on in Mumbai. I was wondering why I never heard of Mumbai. Then I heard it was the largest city in India. I was thinking that is very odd because I never heard of it.
After a day or two someone on TV said Mumbai was formerly Bombay. It seems to me that American TV should have been telling people that information. Instead the cable TV channels had “experts” on mouthing nothing.
I wish they would just broadcast what they know and then just say we do not have any more information and as soon as we get it we will tell you.
They have the experts on and then they get someone on the telephone. Errrr…yes I was a few miles away and I heard gun shots or a big bang.
The only information I needed was this:
Mumbai (Marathi: मुंबई, Mumbaī, IPA:[ˈmum.bəi] (help·info), English pronunciation: /mʊmˈbaɪ/), formerly Bombay prior to 1996, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra and the financial capital of India. With a population of 13,662,885, it is the second most populous city proper in the world.[1] Along with the neighboring suburbs of Navi Mumbai and Thane, it forms, at 19 million, the world's fifth most populous metropolitan area. Mumbai lies on the west coast of India and has a deep natural harbor. Mumbai's port handles over half of India's maritime cargo. Wikipedia
