FL Millionaire Raffle

 

  I did not win the FL Millionaire Raffle.  I checked my three tickets and got nothing.  It was fun thinking what I was going to do with the $660K take home money.  I was going to send $40K to a fan of HNB.  A number of fans were going to get $10K.
  If I am in FL next December I will give it a try again.

They have a Holiday Gay Tea Cruise from FL and I guess it is a monthly event.
  Fort Lauderdale seems to be the gay HQ of FL.  Is that the Gov. of FL I see in line?  Smile

  The one guy says about the gay people in Fort Lauderdale that “we are LARGE and IN CHARGE” in Fort Lauderdale.

  Darlene, my ex-wife, went to a blood doctor yesterday.  The doctor said that he thinks she has internal bleeding.  She is now going to have to see a GI doctor for tests.  She has had a lot of medical problems this year. 
  She has had medical problems since she was five years old.

Russ should be here in a few hours

  Russ should be in the air between France and Florida right now.  He should be here in Miami in a few hours.  When he gets to the airport he will then catch a local bus and head home.  He will have to switch to a second bus to get home.  I am sure he is going to be very tired.
  I heard from him a few days ago and he had over 600 photos and some videos.
  I hope he will let me share some of the photos and videos of China but he is a very private person and may not want me to post them.

Powerball comes to Florida

“SUNRISE, Fla. (WSVN) -- Powerball frenzy is coming to the Sunshine State.

On January 4th, Florida will officially become a Powerball Lottery state and the first tickets will go on sale. Powerball lottery increases the base jackpot to a whopping $20 million.

Tuesday night lottery ambassadors were front and center at Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall to explain to the novices exactly how the game works.

"This panel A would be $1 and the idea is to pick five out of 59 and one out of 39 in panel B, and the idea is to match all six numbers," said Florida Lottery District Manager Tom Dolan. "The Powerball ticket is $1 or the Powerball ticket with power play is $2. So, that's a lot of money-- big jackpots for simply $1 to play to give it a chance."

The biggest Powerball payout in history was in 2006, when eight workers from a Nebraska meatpacking company hit the big time, splitting a $365 million jackpot. "Oh, I'm excited, gives me more opportunity to win more money," said Powerball fan Kerri Brunson.

All of the money from Powerball tickets sold in Florida will stay in the state and will continue to fund education. With Florida in the Powerball game, officials said the average jackpots are expected to go from $96 million to $141 million.

The first Powerball tickets will go on sale Sunday. The first Powerball drawing will take place next Wednesday night at Universal Studios in Orlando, the new home of the Powerball drawing.”

  I may be buying more lottery tickets due to the Powerball coming to Florida.  When there is a very big jackpot I will buy one ticket.  That is what I do now for a large jackpot.  It is worth a dollar for me to dream about what I would do with a lot of money.
  I do have three Millionaire Raffle tickets for tonight.  I paid $20.00 for one ticket and I was given two other tickets as a gift.  So I have three chances to win $1 million dollars tonight.  The odds in this drawing a lot better because they only sell one million tickets.  There will be nine one million dollar winners and their will be over 1000 prizes from $500.00 to $50,000.00 and I sure hope that I am one of them.

Unquestioned integrity?

“CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich said Tuesday he is confident the U.S. Senate will seat his appointment to replace President-elect Barack Obama.

"This is about Roland Burris, not about the man who appoints him," Blagojevich, a Democrat, said at a news conference after announcing his choice.

Burris, 71, also a Democrat, served Illinois from 1979 to 1992 -- first as state comptroller and later as attorney general. Earlier this month, he said that despite the scandal associated with the seat, he wanted the job.

FBI agents arrested Blagojevich on December 9 after federal prosecutors alleged, among other things, that he had tried to "sell" Obama's former Senate seat. Blagojevich denies any wrongdoing and has ignored calls to resign. Watch Blagojevich appoint Burris »

Senate Democratic leaders say they will block the appointment and are urging the governor to step down in the wake of the scandal…”

  I should not have to say it but I have to say it first.  I am a liberal Democrat that has had some major fights over the years fighting racism.  Now that I have got that out of the way…
  I am sure that Roland Burris WANTS to be in the United States Senate but he shows that he does NOT have unquestioned integrity and good sense by having Gov. Rod Blagojevich appoint him.  The fact that he would allow it and the fact that he does not understand that he is being used makes him not fit for the U.S. Senate.
  I hope that the Senate Democratic leadership has the guts to block the appointment. 
  I hope the Congressional Black Caucus is the good sense to not come out for this appointment.  This would be a good message for them if they did not get into the race card.  I fear however that the Congressional Black Caucus is all about race.
   I do not know anything about Roland Burris and I feel sorry for him.  He is 71 years old and this must be a dream for him but sometimes you got to be a man and do the right thing.
   
    Let me make it clear…I do not care who Gov. Blagojevich picks.  They should all be rejected.  He should not be allowed to play this cute little game.
