The service man installed the AC unit today and it is cold in here right now. He says that business is bad. He said he was “making” $1K a day and now he makes $80 or $90 a day. Today we were the only service call he had. He was doing three or four service calls a day. He said that no one is buying new air conditioners now. Everyone wants a used unit.
This is the unit we got today. I hope it works better than it looks.

“WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Congress approved a $3.4 trillion budget for the coming year Wednesday, approving most of President Obama's key spending priorities including increasing in health care, education and alternative energy spending.
The spending plan passed without a single Republican vote in either the House or Senate.
The Senate voted for the plan 53-43. Four Democrats, including recent party-switcher Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, voted against it.
Earlier, the House approved the budget 233-193, with 17 Democrats voting against it…”
Wow NOT one Republican vote. The fact that no Republican voted for a budget for the United States to operate and protect and defend the United States shows you that they just want no part of the United States. They do not want to pay the military or fund the VA. They do not want to fund the FAA. We been looking outside the United States for people trying to harm us and it looks to me like it is our own home grown Republicans that want to harm us.

I posted two videos of Kings Firecrackers on here in the past. Here is a much better video of them doing their thing.
The Firecrackers are a performance jump rope team made up of talented 4th-8th graders from the Kings Local School District in Ohio. Coached by Lynn Kelley, they perform at venues across the country. Some notable past performances have been at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, a Presidential Inauguration and an appearance on The David Letterman Show.

The power of the blog. Smile
Boost Mobile left a comment for me here. They read ShowMeBlog and read my post about not being happy with the Boost Mobile service. They said for me to contact them, gave me a phone number and name, and they would see what they could do to make me happy with their service.
I do not think I am going to contact them. I am just going to put this all down to me being very dumb. I read their web site for three months and everything else I could find on Boost Mobile service and their phones and after all of that I made the wrong decision on going with their service. So I am not sure the blame is with them. You just need something more than an IQ of 108 to understand their “free” services.
If I had gone with their $299.00 phone I might have been more happy. I spent $99.00 for the i776 phone. If I had gone with their i9 phone would I had been happy with the service?
The other night I did sign up for their “free” Boost Navigator service which cost $9.99 for 30 days. I do not see where they have charged me for the $9.99 fee. Their site is just not clear on their extra services. You mouse over the item and it says 0.00 and you go to the item and it says “Free to Download $0.00” and “Unlimited Use $0.00” and in small print at the bottom of a lot of text you see: “…Directions to Re-Boost Locations are always FREE! Select an unlimited subscription directly from your handset. Choose from Free Re-Boost Locator, $1.99 / day, $9.99 / 30 days.”
So with the Boost Navigator you can get free directions to a place to pay your bill but everything else if $2.00 a day or $10.00 a month.
The i776 screen is to small to be doing maps and GPS stuff. I know there are tons of people out there surfing the web and doing stuff like that on screens that small. I feel sorry for them and think they should get a real life.
I am more mad at myself than Boost Mobile. I did my research on the phone and their service and I should not have got that phone or that service.

The AC repairman said he got a used AC for the landlord and it is a Carrier 2 ton unit. He told me it was in “pretty good shape.” I got a bad feeling about this entire deal. I think the landlord should have gone with a new AC unit but he just did not have the money to do it. I can understand not having the money. When I lived in Belton, in the trailer, the central air went out and I had a couple attempts made at repairing it and it did not work and I ended up using a large window AC unit. It would cool the kitchen, living room and Jimmy’s room but my room was hotter than hell. I know it was 106 degrees, at least, in my room. After a summer or two my ex-wife paid to have a new AC window unit put in my room. I think it was for my birthday or something.
The photo above is the old unit on this condo. The guy should be here soon to install the used Carrier 2 ton AC unit. Russell pays the electric bill each month and I hope the new unit does not run up the electric bill.

Yesterday a new version of Firefox was put out. It is version 3.0.10 and I got it installed. I will see how it works. I been having problems with the old version and I hope this corrects the problems. I think the problems are not with Firefox because I have had them with IE. There is something funny with one of my settings.
Now Firefox has just been crashing sometimes on me. The new version of IE will give me a warning but it will just close the one IE window where the problem is and leave the others open.
PCWorld reports that Firefox 3.5 beta 4 is 19 percent faster in rendering JavaScript. I recommend NOT installing betas. If you want the new Firefox beta down load here.
Yes, you know me … No matter how hard I try I am not keep myself from downloading and installing the beta version. I need help or a keeper or something. I may need medication or a few more brain cells.

“WASHINGTON – More than 50 million retirees can expect to receive $250 payments from the government in the next few weeks as their share of the economic stimulus package enacted in February.
Economists say the payments will be a timely boost just as the recession is showing signs of easing a little.
The payments are part of the $787 billion package of spending and tax cuts enacted in February to help boost the economy. They will go to people who receive Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, railroad retirement or veteran's disability benefits…”
I am one of those Social Security retirees. You know me I will spent the money and I think a great deal of the $13 billion is going to end up in the economy. I need a ham radio I do not have one right now. Of course the one I want is top of the line and runs about $400.00 plus there are extra items you can add to it. You know me I like the state of the art stuff. But there is a very excellent simple basic ham radio I could get for $170.00 and I may get it.
There is an excellent USB microphone that I would love to have for making my videos. My audio sucks bad right now.
That is a lot of money just for a microphone but it gets great reviews. There is a battery charger and analyzer that I need. I will get it soon. It gets excellent and great reviews.
I am thinking about the Palm Treo Pro unlocked. I would use it as a PDA and it would work as a Wifi unit. I am not even sure I would try and get any cell phone service for it. That $400.00 is a lot of money and if it comes down to the Palm Treo Pro and a $400.00 ham radio I will take the ham radio.
I need the Powerpack unit. It would power my scanner (radio) and any ham radio I got. We need to get ready for the storm season.
Right now I am waiting for the AC repairman to come out and install a AC unit on the condo. He is getting a used unit so I hope it holds up during this Miami summer.
I have got to get out of this house and do check out Miami. I want to get out to Haulover (nude) beach. I want to see the Miami Zoo. I want to ride on a couple of those Miami tour boats that go out for an hour or two.
Right now I am waiting for the AC guy. I have no idea when he is going to get here.
I am looking forward to cool cold air tonight.

“ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A child in Texas has become the first fatality from swine flu in the United States, the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday…”
We are going to hear a great deal about the Swine flu. The news media is going to scare the hell out of the American people. I think the Swine flu is going to be just like other flu seasons. Yes, sad to say that many people will die. People die each year from the flu and the Swine flu will be no different except we will hear about it.
“…However, he stressed that people should maintain their perspective on the swine flu outbreak.
"Seasonal flu each year causes tens of thousands of deaths in this country -- on average, about 36,000 deaths," Besser said. "And so this flu virus in the United States, as we're looking at it, is not acting very differently from what we saw during the flu season."
Meanwhile, health officials said they think they may have found "patient zero" in the global outbreak in a village in the mountains of Mexico…”
I hope I am right about this flu. I hope it is not the super flu many experts have been fearing is going to hit the world.

I wonder if I have any psychic powers. Let me make some predictions now and then I will try and remember to do this each January.
Predictions by Jim Howard – made 04/29/2009
1 There will be a major assassination attempt made on President Obama.
2 There will be a terrorist attack here in the United States by the right wing.
3 Rush Limbaugh will die this year.
4 We will not see a business recovery this year or in 2010. It will be 2011.
5 Windows 7 will be a big success.
6 Israel will bomb Iran’s nuclear reactors.
OK those are my predictions. I guess if they are all wrong there will be no reason to do new ones each year.
