Emergency Workers Felt Jackson Dead at Scene

  In my post here at ShowMeBlog on Thursday the 25th (1929 hours) you will remember in “Michael Jackson Dead dead  d e a d  - DRT” that I was screaming and carrying on about the fact that Michael Jackson was dead at the house.

  TMZ has a report posted Friday the 26th (1245 hours) “Emergency Workers Felt Jackson Dead at Scene.” 

“When EMTs arrived at Michael Jackson's home yesterday, the medics wanted to pronounce him dead on the scene -- but Michael's personal doctor refused to let them "call it" -- this according to sources close to the situation.
When EMTs arrived there was evidence someone had been performing CPR on Michael for "quite some time." There was evidence of Lidocaine -- an old-school drug that can be used to treat disturbances in the heart's rhythm. Medics took over performing CPR but determined Jackson was lifeless -- and wanted to call the coroner to pick up the body.
We're told Jackson was flat-lined when EMTs arrived.
But our sources say M.J.'s doc demanded EMTs continue performing CPR anyway, and demanded that they take Michael to the hospital.
Once they arrived at UCLA, we're told Jackson's doc continued to personally administer CPR -- even though it was clear Jackson was already gone.”

  My God…I am speechless…Well..OK.. I am never speechless…
  I am not even sure I can get my head around this…  performing CPR for “quite some time” and had time to give Lidocaine… 
  By the way.. if you have never done CPR.. doing CPR is hard.. even two man CPR is hard.. one man is harder..It is a wonder the EMTs did not have to code the doctor if he had been doing CPR for a very long.
  It will take sometime but this doctor will soon be an ex-doctor.  I expect to see him do jail time.  I am sure he has been writing out fake Rx and doing all sorts of crimes. The state and the FDA are going to hang his ass.
  His defense for not calling 911 is going to be that he could not call because he started CPR and he could not stop. 

  I do not blame the EMTs for transporting the dead body to the hospital.   Because there was a “doctor” (Dr. Conrad Murray) there and he is a heart doctor demanding that they transport.

  Who killed Michael Jackson?  He was the cause of his own death.
Plus the people around him that got him drugs and the doctors that wrote out the Rx so get “legal” drugs.
  Now the state drugs agencies and the DEA should have got wind of this and taken some action.  My guess is that it is very hard with someone that MJ that has money and movies around all the time.  I suspect that the FDA likes to play cops and military and do all sort of fancy things with guns and they need to have more officers in suits doing book keeping paperwork.   It is simple stuff like you may have a drug store that has a history of selling 50 units of Demerol a month and all of a sudden they start selling 500 units of Demerol. You send an officer to see what is going on. 

  Right now there are a lot of sad people around the world.  They are sad because they were fans of Michael Jackson.
  Right now there is a “doctor” and he is sad…he is very sad…he is crying his eyes out right now… His medical practice is going to be over soon and he will soon not be a doctor and he will soon be in a jail cell.
  When I say “soon” it is going to take sometime.  Hell, they are not going get the drug screens back on MJ for four to six weeks.  I do not think you need to worry about taking the doctor’s passport.  I do not think he can afford to buy a ticket to get out of the United States.
  I have been seeing everyone in the world on TV commenting about their friend Michael Jackson.  They all talk about MJ and how they knew him and spent time with him.  One guy said that MJ wanted him to take his kids if something happened to him.
  The only person I have NOT seen on TV is the person that was living with him and was the last person to see MJ alive.  Where is Dr. Conrad Murray?

Ground Observer Corp

  I was a member of the Ground Observer Corp for years.  After they did away with the GOC our post all became weather observers. 
  Now I lived in Kansas City (Missouri) and KC is right in the middle of the United States so I am not sure it made much sense having us watch for Soviet bombers.  Smile

  But I found the following on the Gizmodo site:

“…Here's a transcript of a panel about SAGE that occurred at the Computer History Museum in 1998. I found this passage, about why they couldn't use human spotters to warn of invasions, fascinating:

"And they saw lots of things! [Laughter] They saw airplanes — many of them were civilian; they saw birds; they saw all kinds of things, and most of them they thought were Soviet bombers. I mean, this was a scary period. They would then telephone the nearest air base, which would then have to figure out if this information was worth anything. And pretty much none of it was worth anything. So, it very rapidly became obvious that despite the huge size of this program — there were 8,000 observation posts, and at the peak of the program 305,000 volunteers staffing these things 24 hours a day — the information was pretty much useless. So, commanders just ignored it. For one thing, by the time it had been verified, the bombers would already be there. So, what was the point?

The reason I'm telling you this story is that the purpose of this program was not really air defense. It was public relations. It was saying to the public, "We are doing something about this problem — we see it." At the same time, the Air Force started looking everywhere for ideas from scientists and engineers, and [referring to the slide presentation] now we're restarting, and I'm not sure what's going on.

What's the modern equivalent system that we'd use to defend ourselves against North Korean nukes? I don't know. I just hope its more than just a PR stunt…”

 

   I do not know who was making that statement but I guess it was very funny.  I wonder if there was anyone there to tell the speaker that he was full of shit and did not know what he was talking about.  I wish I had been at the meeting to show everyone that the  clown did not know his ass from a hole in the ground.

  We did NOT report Soviet bombers.  We reported ALL airplanes.  We did not call the nearest air base.  We dialed the operator and said “Aircraft FLASH – Aircraft FLASH” and the operator connected us with Air Defense Command.

WASHINGTON — A wise man once said that love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

No one who managed to get through the torture of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's news conference admitting to an affair would disagree. Yes, I know, shocking. Another Republican affair. Next thing you know, we'll learn that a Democrat hasn't paid his taxes.

If we were feeling charitable, we might say something about man's fallen nature and his attempt to repair himself through public works. Thus, Republicans touting family values can't seem to stay zipped.

We might conclude that public espousals carry certain risks of self-incrimination.

Before charity exhausts its welcome, let's do give Sanford this much: He has a flair for the dramatic in what otherwise would have been banal. Nothing like vanishing for a few days amid lies and speculation to get that "whole sparking thing" going, as Sanford ickily described his affair.

That was but one of many bits of information the governor might have spared the world — and his family. His news conference felt like a combination AA meeting-tent revival, filled with self-recrimination and flagellation. Although his agony seemed sincer, his apparent need to drag everyone else along his Via Dolorosa was embarrassing and politically disastrous.

The man would not stop talking. Even though most cable news channels covered the spectacle live, Sanford began with a recounting of his youth when he hiked the Appalachian Trail. What? He spoke for five minutes before moving, finally, to the point: Where did he go, with whom, and why?

People will forgive human frailty, especially in matters of the flesh. But Sanford's foray into iniquity has potential repercussions beyond what he and his wife ultimately resolve. He did disappear for several days, five of which he confessed to having spent "crying in Argentina."

And, there's no nice way to put this, he lied — by omission if not commission.

He lied by not telling his staff where he was going or how to reach him. He deceived his staff by allowing them to believe and then report to the media that the governor was hiking in the Appalachians. And most important to his political future, he failed to make arrangements for his state's uninterrupted governance.

Sanford acknowledged all of these failings, but he seemed less interested in discussing his shirking of executive duty than in making statements abouthis heart. Not only did we learn Sanford's philosophy of moral absolutes, but we were led through the meaning and purpose of God's laws.

Spiritually, Sanford may have succeeded in checking off several acts of contrition. But politically, he did everything wrong — invoking religion, apologizing endlessly, and acknowledging friends in a sort of reverse intervention.

Meanwhile, the questions that matter remain unaddressed. Can a governor lie about his whereabouts and leave the country while his state is untended? Were taxpayer funds ever used in the pursuit of his personal gratification?

If not for Sanford's appalling judgment in disappearing, his personal travails might never have come to public light. That alone suggests that he is a man unmoored from reality and, just possibly, unfit for public office.

Microsoft Windows Pricing

  I hate being poor and broke all the time.  If you are poor you end up paying more for things. 
  
  Microsoft is saying that they expect to sell Windows 7 for $119.19 and $199.00 each.  Because I been using Windows 7 RC I can get half off.  I can get Windows 7 Home Premium for $49.99 and Professional for $99.99. 
   I am running Windows 7 RC and it is excellent and I do plan to buy Windows 7 when they release it. Because I am poor it looks like I will have to pay the $199.00 and that happens to the poor all the time.
 

   CNN reports that you can purchase an upgrade copy of Windows 7 RC for $49.99 and $99.99 each.  That offer is good for both Windows XP and Windows Vista owners.
   Now both these offers are good for a limited time and the number of copies is limited but Microsoft is not giving out a date and a number.

   If you buy a new computer with Windows Vista on it you will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 and be able to upgrade without doing a clean installation of Windows 7.

   People that are poor end up paying more for things and services and they end up paying late fees etc.
   There has been some talk of the United States having a sales tax.  I have heard a few people say that even a half of one percent sales tax would bring in tons of money for the federal government and allow us to pay for national health insurance and pay off our debt and do other things.  I wonder if that sort of tax hurts the poor more than others.  Or is it a fair tax?
 

  I guess some people are thinking of a Value Added Tax which is different than a Sales Tax.  I want to see our taxes become easy and simple but I do wonder if it would not be more fair and better for the poor if food and medication was not taxed or if a person cold get a refund for those taxes when they file a tax report.

  How did I go from talking about Windows 7 to talking about taxes?

  News of Michael Jackson being dead at age 50 was a shock.  You hear the name Michael Jackson and you expect some sort of other news.
  There is going to be all sorts of news and specials about him so I sure do not need to talk about that here.

  I would like to comment on something…You know me.. I always have to put in my two cents on everything…even when I do not know what I am talking about…
  He was down at the place he was renting…how long before staff found him?  They called 911 and the report is that it took 10 minutes for them to get there.  That means that his brain was dead and was mush or on the way fast to becoming mush. 
  They worked on him but never got anything.  They never got a pulse back.  So he was dead.  Then they transported him and no pulse.  So they transported a dead man to the hospital. 
  One report was that the ER staff worked on him for 42 minutes!  He was dead.  He was dead when he got to the hospital.  Hell he was dead at the home.
  If they had got something back.. like a pulse.. He would have been something like that thing Thriller!  No, not even like that because Michael Jackson was dead.
  I am no Michael Jackson but if I go down and I am not getting blood to my brain for 10 minutes DO NOT start CPR on me and do not try and bring me back to life PLEASE.  I only have an IQ of 108.  If you got some blood to my brain I might have an IQ of 8. 
  Now…yes..I know about kids…cold water …etc… I was an EMT and I was a CPR instructor for years.
 
  We need to treat everyone in the United States the same.  We all need health insurance and health care.
  If a homeless person went down on the street and was down without a pulse for 15 minutes the police and EMTs would say this person is DRT (dead right there).  
  Was that two cents worth or was it a bit more? 

Michael Jackson – Cardiac Arrest?

  Some early report that Michael Jackson may have had a heart attack.  Nothing on CNN yet.
 

Update:  TMZ is reporting the story and the following is from L.A. Now:

“2:06 PM | June 25, 2009

Pop star Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.

[Updated at 2:12 p.m.: Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson rented the Bel Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater.

The home is about 2 minutes away from UCLA Medical Center.]

The news comes as Jackson, 50, was attempting a comeback after years of tabloid headlines, most notably his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges.

In May, The Times reported that Jackson was living in a Bel-Air mansion and rehearsing for a series of 50 sold-out shows in London's O2 Arena. Jackson had won the backing of two billionaires to get the so-called "King of Pop" back on stage.

His backers envision the shows at AEG's O2 as an audition for a career rebirth that could ultimately encompass a three-year world tour, a new album, movies, a Graceland-like museum, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau, and even a "Thriller" casino. Such a rebound could wipe out Jackson's massive debt.

Farrah Fawcett dies

  I told my ex-wife yesterday that Farrah Fawcett had gone in the hospital and was in bad shape.  My ex-wife started to cry.  My ex-wife also has cancer.  It is a different type of cancer but Darlene was upset.
  I have not talked to Darlene today but I am sure this is going to effect her.

  I was never a fan of “Charlie’s Angels” for some reason.  I was married during the years it was on TV (1976 to 1981).  But I remember seeing Farrah Fawcett and thinking that a woman can not get better looking that she was at the time.
  Now I was a big fan of “Three’s Company” and had the hots for Suzanne Somers.  That TV show ran from 1977 to 1984.  There were a number of great looking woman around that time. 
  There was also Bo Derek in “10” (film) the 1979 romantic comedy.  I think Farrah Fawcett was the hottest of all of the woman around that time. 
  I just do not think Farrah Fawcett got the right TV show or movie parts.  I did not watch the recent documentary “A Wing & a Prayer: Farrah’s Fight for Life.”  That is not the sort of thing I want to watch.
  From what I could tell, from TV, Farrah Fawcett wanted to live and was fighting to live right up until the last minute. 
  She is at peace now and in the arms of God.

1950: North Korea invades South Korea

“Armed forces from Communist North Korea invaded the American-supported republic of South Korea today when they crossed the 38th parallel, the boundary that divides the zones. It was unclear at first whether the United States would take direct military action to defend the nation. However, South Korean Ambassador John Myun Chang said during a conference at the State Department, "I don't think the United States will abandon us."

"The extent and purpose of the attacks remained unclear for hours after the first fragmentary reports of the invasion were received," reported The Cedar Rapids Gazette on June 25, 1950. "But shortly after noon, the Communists' radio at Pyongyang, the Northern capital, said that war had been declared effective at 11 a.m."

NOTE: Two days after the invasion, President Truman authorized the use of American forces to aid South Korea. The June 25 attacks marked the beginning of the Korean War, a conflict that lasted until 1953.”

  Here we are all these years later…still having to mess with North Korea.  I was 9 years old when North Korea invaded South Korea.  I remember it.  But not in a great amount of detail.
  I was into news even at that age.  I remember in great detail the Army-McCarthy Hearings and that was in 1954.  I suspect one reason that I remember the hearings so well is that I was not going to school and it was the only thing on TV.
