What the fuck? WHAT?
ZURICH, Switzerland (CNN) -- Woody Allen, Pedro Almodovar and Martin Scorsese have "demanded the immediate release" of fellow filmmaker Roman Polanski, who was arrested in Switzerland on a U.S. arrest warrant related to a 1977 child sex charge.
They were among 138 people in the film industry who signed a petition against the arrest.Polanski was on the way to the Zurich Film Festival when Swiss police detained him in response to the American warrant.
The filmmaker pleaded guilty in 1977 to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor but fled before he could be sentenced. He settled in France, where he holds citizenship. Investigators in the United States say Polanski, then 43, drugged and raped a 13-year-old girl.
The filmmakers objected to his being arrested en route to the film festival, which held a tribute to him this year…”
I have not objection to people signing a petition. I do object to Woody Allen, Pedro Almodovar and Martin Scorsese demanding his release. I find it funny that people would say that he should not have been arrested because he was on his way to an “international cultural event” paying homage to him. I think it is funny. I love it. He has been hiding for over 30 years for the rape of 13 year old girl. He plead guilty to the crime but ran from the United States and has been hiding for over 30 fucking years.
I just posted a blog yesterday saying they should just get him to sign a paper saying he could never sit foot in the United States and let this fucking case come to an end.
I have changed my fucking mind. I want to see him die in fucking jail now. I would be willing to make a deal. Let him do his time in CA and then all those film industry people can go and visit him in jail.
They FUCKING DEMAND his release? What the fuck.
What crime did Roman Polanski commit?
“…In 1977, Polanski, then aged 44, became embroiled in a scandal involving 13-year-old Samantha Gailey (now Samantha Geimer). It ultimately led to Polanski's guilty plea to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.[33][34]
According to Geimer, Polanski asked Geimer's mother if he could photograph the girl for the French edition of Vogue, which Polanski had been invited to guest-edit. Her mother allowed a private photo shoot. According to Geimer in a 2003 interview, "Everything was going fine; then he asked me to change, well, in front of him." She added, "It didn't feel right, and I didn't want to go back to the second shoot."[34]
Geimer later agreed to a second session, which took place on March 10, 1977 at the Mulholland area home of actor Jack Nicholson in Los Angeles. "We did photos with me drinking champagne," Geimer says. "Toward the end it got a little scary, and I realized he had other intentions and I knew I was not where I should be. I just didn't quite know how to get myself out of there." She recalled in a 2003 interview that she began to feel uncomfortable after he asked her to lie down on a bed, and how she attempted to resist. "I said, 'No, no. I don't want to go in there. No, I don't want to do this. No!', and then I didn't know what else to do," she stated, adding: "We were alone and I didn’t know what else would happen if I made a scene. So I was just scared, and after giving some resistance, I figured well, I guess I’ll get to come home after this".[35]
Geimer testified that Polanski gave her a combination of champagne and quaaludes,[36] a sedative drug, and "despite her protests, he performed oral sex, intercourse and sodomy on her",[37][38][39] each time after being told 'no' and being asked to stop.[40][41][42][43][34]..”
Geez, what does he expect, you can't run from the law... I am sorta surprised they were still chasing him after all those years though.

The man plead guilty and jumped bail. There is no statute of limitation pertaining to his admitted crime and any subsequent settlement/forgiveness arranged between himself and the victim are immaterial to the charges of which, again by his own admission, he is guilty.
