In will be moving in about two weeks to Texas so I will need a new Medicare insurance plan for Texas. I looked a little bit on line and it looks like I will be paying out more money this year. I have not done a complete check of all the plans yet.
Today I got information from AvMed. They are the plan I been using here in FL. They are not in Texas so I can not use them next year. I took a look at the AvMed plan for next year just to get an idea of what is going on with insurance.
The good news…Next year they will cover one Colonoscopy each year and the same with a Mammogram.
Then you get to the bad news…last year a impatient hospital stay cost 0. In 2010 days 4 to 23 will cost $100.00 each day….A visit to a Outpatient Rehab Facility last year was 0 and it is $5 per visit in 2010….To see a Specialist last year, well this year, was zero and next year it will be $5 per visit.
God forbid you need Kidney Dialysis because this year it is 0 per visit but next year you will have to pay 20% of the cost.
Outpatient Diagnostic Testing 0/$50 and next year $25/$100 plus 20% of a PET scan.
Then you get into the Medications. This year I been paying zero for my three medications. Next year I would be paying $20.00 for one of them and my guess is any doctor I see is going to want to add a couple of medications and my guess is that under this plan next year I would be paying $60.00 for medications each month.
It looks to me like Medicare health care plans are going to cost each of us more money next year.
Insurance corporations are allowed to fix prices … They can get with each other and decide what to do to make more money!
I did not know that. I was watching MSNBC and the woman, forget her name, said that the only two industries exempt from government oversight were insurance companies and major league baseball.
This is crazy…Insurance companies are exempt from price fixing oversight and laws.
Why have we not heard about this? Why has this not been corrected?
You and I know what why… Money… We need to fix our election laws. We need public funding of elections. The NRA, insurance companies and unions should not be allowed to buy elections. OK OK… I do not think any unions have that sort of money.. But you got to include them and others to get a law passed. We need to put an end to corporations or organizations buying elections.
