I just started thinking I wish I could just start all over again...Then I looked over at my Ubuntu 9.04 install disk.
I decided ...what the hell ... I put in my CD drive and told it to format my entire hard drive and start all over again.. I got a warning that it would removed Windows 7 RC. I was thinking this will remove all my programs, files, photos and everything... I was thinking I do not have any back up...
I told it yes.. format it all...
I now have Ubunti 9.04 (Linux) on my computer.
I am going to hate myself in a few hours...Not sure why I did it.. Windows 7 RC was working great for me...In fact I think Windows 7 is the first O/S they have put out that you can say works. OK XP was not bad.
Not sure what got in me today... Oh well.. Guess I will install the updates to 9.04 and see what I can do with it.
By the way... I had a dual boot system before and had Ubunti on it then.. So it is not new to me.
You were able to get right back online and use all of your peripherals no problem? Are you networked or is it a stand alone machine?

We got a router here and you can connect via wired, I am wired, or wireless. So I was connected with the Internet right without problem. Ubuntu is good about networking.
As far as I can tell all my devices work.. Now my radio scanner I could control via Windows. I do not have a Linux program for that. The UPS had a nice program that was running in the background telling me how the UPS was working and the condition of the power supply and such and I am not sure if they have a Linux version of it or not. I can live with out.
As far as I know everything is working.
The software and the data will be the problem.
