Good doctor's report..faster Internet..new theme..GOOD DAY

  I got home from the doctor's office.  I had good news.  My glucose (sugar) level was only 109.  High but OK.  I drink to much Coke and I will try and cut down or cut it out. 
  The doctor said my cholesterol was very good.  I think he said the good cholesterol was 103.  Or he might have said 113.  I know he said it was very good.

  On the way home I got my mail and there was a bill from Charter Communications.  I only have Internet service from them.  We have the Plus service and that is 10 M down.  They have increased the speed to 16 Mbps down at no increase in price.
  The Express went from 5 M down to 8 M down. 
  The Max service went from 20 M down to 25 and the increased the upload speed from 2 M to 3 Mbps.
  I just used www.speedtest.com and I got 13.38M down and 2 M up.

  I paid for a theme for my Word Press site awhile back and I have using it. Well when I got home I got an email from them that version 1.7 is now out.
  So today is going to be a good day.

  Now tomorrow I got to have some dental work done.  Tomorrow may not be a good day.  I had better enjoy today.

Clear

  We can get Internet service in Dallas/Fort Worth from Clear (www.clear.com).  I wish I had a mobile device of some sort.  I would take their mobile Internet service.  They have Unlimited Mobile for $45.00 a month.  That is 6 Mbps down and up to 1 Mbps up.  I know you do not think I go anyplace.  OK OK you are right I do not…But if I had a lap top or some sort of mobile device I would go and post from someplace and stream video of something going on… It would get me out of the house.
  Of course the hot weather is going to be here soon and this is Texas.  It gets hot here …It gets very hot.

I see the doctor today

  I see the doctor today.  This will be my second visit to him.  I like him but I got the feeling he wants to put me on a lot of medications.  He thinks I have diabetes.  I do not think I do.  But for the last few years my blood sugar tests have put me just a few points under the diabetes level.  He had them do a better blood sugar test and when I go later today I think we will know.  I do not want to have diabetes. If I have it then I do not want medication for it.  I want to go on a diet of what ever it takes to bring the sugar level down.  If that means eating nothing then so be it.
  He is going to want to put me on something for high cholesterol.  I had some old lab work when I went a few weeks ago that I gave to him.  He mentioned high cholesterol and I told him I was taking a high cholesterol medication and every inch of my body hurt me like someone had beat me with a base ball bat. He wanted to know what I was talking.  I could not remember.  I think it was Simvastain.  So I guess I will tell him that is what I was taking.  I do not want to take anything for high cholesterol.  Do I sound like a pain in the ass patient?
  I am going to the HealthFirst Medical Group (Green Oaks Clinic). 
  I like the place and the doctor and it is easy for me to get to it. 

'Stand and Deliver' teacher dies of cancer - CNN.com

"(CNN) -- Jaime Escalante, the math teacher portrayed in the 1988 film "Stand and Deliver," died Tuesday after a battle with cancer, according to the actor who played him.

Escalante, 79, was surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren when he died at his home in Roseville, California, said Edward James Olmos.

Olmos visited Escalante's bedside Monday night, he said..."

  This seems like a very bad idea.  I have never been much of a game player.  I do play Civilization IV often.  I play on the most easy mode.  I just like to build up my cities and see the lay of the land. I do not get into the game.  It is just something to do for a little bit.
  But I have known a lot of young men that are into games bit time. They talk about the games also like the game was real.
  When the kill an a bad guy or blow up something they seem to feel like the did it.  
  Those people are the ones that I wonder how are they going to feel if they play a game like this.  
  I do not like government censorship.  But this sort of game scary.   

Have an eBay store – check the store today

  My ex-wife has had a store on eBay for years and years.  She works hard on the eBay site selling video tapes and games.  I attempted to get her to use software that would make it easy for her but she does everything the hard way.  She makes very little money each month from eBay. 
  A few weeks ago she forwarded a email she got from eBay talking about improvements and how wonderful these changes were going to be for sellers with a eBay store.  She wanted to know if I could understand the email.  I said no.. I said it says they are going to let you list items for less money and that it is a good deal for you.  I told her… that is odd.. why would they take in less money.. They would not do that.
  Well she just called me.  She has 1100 items listed on eBay.  The items all sell for less than $10.00 each and it was costing her 3 cents to list.  Well today all those items are now costing her 20 cents each.
  She was very upset and just about to cry. She was freaking out.
  So Jimmy and I helped to calm her down.  She then got in touch with eBay.  Today was the day of the change.  She has been paying $15.00 a month for her store and 3 cent each item that she list.  Well it turned out that eBay has made a change… I do not know all the ends and outs of it but she has had to upgrade to a $50.00 a month store and now each item she list will cost her 5 cents.  She had no choice so she upgraded. 
  So if you have an eBay store you better check today and see if they have changed the cost per item.  You may have listed an item for a certain price and they may have increased the price.
  I suspect there are going to be hundreds or more of very surprised and upset eBay sellers.

Dental appointment

  I have not seen a dentist in over ten years.  I lost a filling about three months ago.  It was from my upper right side.  Well I been having pain for the last week. 
  I was waiting for my insurance company AARP MedicareComplete (SecureHorizons) to send me a list of dentists in their plan.  I never got it.  So I called today and they gave me an online link to get a list.  I have the Deluxe rider for dental and a few other options. 
  So the link was to www.myuhc.com  UnitedHealthcare Dental
  Monarch Dental is in the plan and I was up there about a week ago asking if they took my plan and they were going to call me back and let me know.  I know just were they are located and I can get there by bus. 
  So I have an appointment, a "focus appointment, for April 1st.  It will be nice to get this problem fixed.  When I lived in Kansas City I would see the dentist two times a year and have cleaning done two times a year. 
  The focus appointment is just to take care of a problem that you have.. So I will need to make another appointment to have them check everything and do cleaning.

  It is rare for me to have dental pain.  That is sort of bad.  If you have dental pain you will get in early and get something taken care of sooner. 
  I need my teeth cleaned of course.. I will be glad when I can get in and have that done.  I hate the cleaning work more than other dental work.
  But it will be nice to get it taken care of… So I am going to have pain until the 1st of April.

GOP thrilled: Cantor really was threatened - Eric Cantor, R-Va. - Salon.com

His office wasn't shot up, but he did get a threat -- from a guy who had attacked Obama. And the movie "Babe"

"Last week I wrote about House Minority Whip Eric Cantor's claim that his office was targeted by someone who shot a bullet through its window -- even after the Richmond police reported the gunshot appeared to be random. Monday came the news that the Virginia Republican faced a real threat, by a guy who made a disturbingly crazy YouTube video articulating plans to hurt Cantor and his family. Like all decent people, I deplore the threat to Cantor, and I'm glad the person who threatened him has been arrested.

But Republicans (in my letters thread and elsewhere online) seem positively giddy about it. Now they can point to a real threat to Cantor, after Democrats, including yours truly, made a big deal of his reporting a phony threat. Even better, suspect Norman Leboon reportedly made campaign contributions to President Obama.

Of course Leboon also happened to make YouTube videos threatening Obama, and the studio that made the film "Babe." Dave Weigel has it all right here. Leboon, who also claims to be a Muslim in some videos, doesn't seem to be motivated by politics, but mental illness. The GOP glee about the Cantor threat story seems kind of inappropriate..."

  Well that did not take long.  It was just a couple of hours ago I posted on this subject.  We have more information and I was right.  He made threats to President Obama and others. The guy is a mental.  
  Of course I told you about the bullet attack on Eric Cantor's office when it was first reported and told you it was not true and that the police should check it out in detail.
  

Do Hannity and North operate a "charitable" fraud?

  I post in ShowMeBlog on March 23rd "Sean Hannity in a charity scandal? V2.0."  That was second post on the subject.
  It now looks like this scandal has moved up the fraud level.  Joe Conason at the Salon web site has the details in "Do Hannity and North operate a 'charitable' fraud?" 

"A potentially damaging scandal erupted today that implicates Fox News Channel personalities Sean Hannity and Oliver North in the worst kind of charitable fraud. According to complaints filed with the Federal Trade Commission and the IRS, the two right-wing icons have exploited American veterans for personal and partisan gain. The actions filed by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington accuse Hannity and North of misusing millions of dollars collected by the Freedom Alliance, a charity they promote and control…"

  You can read the entire article and see what you think.  I think it does not look good for Sean Hannity and Oliver North.
  It seems often that the way the right wing people get out of something is they will say well it was NOT a crime.  A scandal is OK or doing something that is not moral is OK just as long as it is not a crime. 
  I think even if that happens this time the people that gave to that charity are not going to forgive and forget.  Not when you are stealing from American veterans and their families.  If they were stealing from the green movement or the save the whales or some left wing cause.. but to steal from veterans and their families it is not going to sit well with the right.
