I have the AARP MedicareComplete (SecureHorizons) insurance plan. I took their Deluxe rider for $39.00 extra a month to get extra coverage. Tomorrow I am going to find out how the plan works.
It says that preventive and diagnostic dental services are covered in full. The booklet says that oral exams, crowns, filling, oral surgery, root canals, x-rays, cleanings and dentures are included. Then it says that I pay a $100.00 deductible up to a benefit maximum of $1,000.00 per year.
Tomorrow the dentist is just seeing me to take care of my emergency. So they will fix my lost filling and I hope put an end to the pain. Then I can eat on the right side of my mouth. Hay, I can get more food in my mouth and eat faster. Smile
I am not sure what to expect but I am taking $100.00 with me just in case they have me pay the the entire deductible for the work tomorrow.
If that happens...If I have to pay $100.00 tomorrow then I will have my dental emergency taken care of and I can eat again. But because I had to pay the $100.00 I will not have money for food. Smile
There is something wrong with this whole thing. Smile
The last time I had dental work done I worked for Research Medical Center/Health Midwest. I do not remember how much their insurance paid. I know it was no problem for me to come up with the money. I paid for extra cleaning. I was having my teeth cleaned three times a year. I hate cleaning more than dental work. It feels like they are going to pull my teeth out. I alway fear they will yank out a filling or my fake tooth.
I do know the dentist was trying to talk me into extra work to keep my front teeth from spreading out. It was a lot of money which my insurance would not pay for so I did not have it done. He was correct my front lower teeth have been spreading out.
I will be glad to have this work done and get the other work done.
Then I guess I should work on the vision. I have not had my eyes tested in years.
Then I guess I should have my hearing tested. The last time I had a hearing test I was in grade school. I had lots of hearing lost then and that was in the 40s or 50s. It would be funny if they pulled out a couple of plugs of ear wax and that fixed the problem. It will not happen..but it would be funny and sad. I wonder if that has every happened.
