I watched all of the “Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear” on the Internet. The feed from the Comedy Channel was excellent.
It was a great event. I can not believe that Stewart and Colbert had the guts to sing.
If you saw the event what did you think of it?
Because Fox News, on their web site, had their point of view; mocking it by saying it was “Non-Political” and saying the event had “political undertones”, “was stacked with entertainers associated with Democratic causes”, “signs on display mocked Republicans who are expected to take control of the House Tuesday” and comments like that filled the Fox News site.
One thing that was a cheap and stupid remark by Fox News was “Comedy Central’s park permit puts the crowd estimate at 60,000.” It just shows how stupid Fox News thinks their viewer are…The permit is filled out weeks before an event and you list how big you think the event will be and then you get approved for a permit. The event appeared to have over two times that number. Early reports put the number of people at 150,000 people.
What I was looking for was the union members that were forced to take buses to event “at gun point.” That is what four or five Fox “news” reporters talked about the other day on the air for five or ten minutes…Yes.. saying each of them that union members were forced to the event “at gun point.” I never saw any union members with guns pointed at them at the event.
I watched the end of the rally - from Australia - am going to watch the 'repeat' on C-span later today. Looked like a big turn out.
