My guess is that some of you will be buying webcams this Christmas for yourself or for others. I have reviews of a number of them at my YouTube site.
I am using a Logitech Pro 9000 webcam. I had a Microsoft LifeCam Cinema and it is excellent IF you have a computer with lots of memory and power. I gave it to my son because with their software I could not pick a different microphone. They need to update their software.
For a microphone for my videos I use the Blue Snowball USB microphone. I love it. The audio now on my videos is excellent. I just got it a few months ago. Now of course I want the Blue Yeti USB microphone. Smile
Right now I am wanting the Hauppauge 12—WinTV HVR-850 HDTV Tuner Stick. It will let me watch TV on my computer and use my monitor. I have had a number of their PCI cards in the past. This is a USB device.
So it will let me watch over the air digital TV, it comes with a antenna, on my computer monitor. I can not only watch in a small window on my LCD monitor or full screen if I want but I can also record. Of course if I ever get cable TV then I could hook it up to cable. Hauppauge makes excellent devices so I am sure this one will be great.
What are you planning on buying someone for Xmas? I mean of course high tech stuff? Do you plan to buy something for yourself or the family?
I just have enough money to make it month to month so I do not think I will be buying much of anything for Christmas. I never was a very big Christmas person until I got married at age 26. The wife was a big time Christmas person. So for 12 years I was a big time Christmas person. Then after the wife I went back to being a scrooge.
I like Christmas movies. I think these are great Christmas movies; “Bad Santa” (2003), “The Bishop’s Wife” (1947), “A Christmas Carol” (1938), I hate to admit it but “Elf” (2003), “Home Alone” (1990), “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946), “Miracle on 34th Street” (1947), “The Santa Clause” (1994), “The Shop Around the Corner” (1940) and “Come to the Stable” (1949).
I just got an email that I need to renew three of my domains in December; ShowMeBlog.Us, ShowMeBlog.Mobi and ShowMeBlog.info and I hate it when I get extra bills this time of year.
When my kids were little and after my divorce I would use my tax refund each year (about $1200.00) for getting the kids stuff for Christmas. I would get my tax refund in March and pick up the kids and take them out to eat, to a movie and then get them what they wanted for “Christmas” and then I would buy myself something nice for the year.
I was just thinking … I hated school but I love movies about schools and teachers. I am not a sports fan at all. I love sports movies. I am not sure what that says about me …other than, I guess, I love movies.
