“So maybe it wasn’t such a good idea for Big Bad Bob to videotape how he gets his African thrills? Maybe it was a bit much for people to take in the sight of him standing with an elephant he shot dead, grinning like a kid on Christmas?
GoDaddy’s CEO Bob Parsons flies to Zimbabwe loaded for the biggest land animal on Earth. He hangs around the farming villages known to have trouble with bulls in must. They ask him to kill the troublemakers, he cranks up the video camera, and he pretends Jack the Ripper lives next door. The elephants come by and — bang! — he shoots one dead.
Awesome. Then he posts the whole heroic episode online, and, oops. Well, wouldn’t you know? People likeelephants…” Liberaland
I have 8 domains that GoDaddy is holding for me. I have been OK with GoDaddy in the past except for a few small items. One is their always trying to sell you more. Calls from reps to get you to renew and buy new domains. It was just a turn off.
I also was not a fan of the CEO. I read his blog a few times and it turned me off.
I love dogs and cats but I am not a PETA nut.
But I also am not happy with big game hunter Bob Parsons going and shooting an elephant.
The reports are that many people are pulling their domains from GoDaddy.
I plan to do the same. I can not do it today because when I move each one I need to renew for a year with the new company and that would be $8.00 or $9.00 for each one. So I will wait until next month and then pull them out.
Truth is the photo of Bob Parsons creeps me out. I am moving my domains more because of that photo of him than his elephant killing.
