At 0400 on a Sunday there is not much to do so I decided to check and see what foods I should avoid since I know I do have gallstones.
I found the following on ehow:
“Foods to Avoid
Foods high in animal fat and low in fiber prevent the liver's ability to absorb bile acids and cause gallstones to form. Those who have been diagnosed with gallstones need to be especially diligent about avoiding high-fat foods and increasing their fiber intake. To prevent a painful attack or new gallstones from forming, stay away from: whole-milk dairy products; all animal fats, including butter; high-sugar sweets and carbohydrates, including all desserts, candy and ice cream; hydrogenated oils and fats found in most mayonnaises and margarines; deep-fried foods; caffeine, alcohol and carbonated beverages; artificial sweeteners, additives and colorings, and eggs…”

The gallstone pain has been most notable for the last week or so and last week I got a lot of ice cream and I been eating a large disk each day. (OK sometimes two dishes full each day.)
So I need to watch what I eat. But I eat the food so fast there is no time to watch it. Hell I am lucky I don’t eat one of my fingers by error.
I have cut back on Coke, a little, the last few days.
“Foods to Choose
A diet high in fiber-rich foods is one of the best ways to prevent gallstones or a painful attack. Among the best choices are: fresh fruits and vegetables, especially broccoli, spinach, carrots, beets, apples, lemons and watermelon; low-fat, low-cholesterol proteins such as turkey, chicken and fresh fish, and foods with high levels of calcium, magnesium and potassium, including baked potatoes, brown rice, yogurt and soaked or sprouted grains…”

Fruits and vegetables? Real men do not eat fruits and vegetables.
Well I like baked potatoes. I like watermelon. They sell baking potatoes the same place I get the ice cream so I need to do that I guess.
The ice cream sure tasted good. Life sucks when you have to avoid foods that taste so good. I like baked potatoes but they do not taste as good as Braums French vanilla ice cream with lots and LOTS of chocolate on it.
That's sad that you have gallstones. I'm sorry. But it's a great vegan diet: jump to high conciousness at a time!) But it's hard to do if you are still a big meat or dairy lover (I can't live without milk and cheese, so... I've a lot to go). And this diet is much more strict than a diet to prevent kidney stones. That one doesn't just have salty and spicy things in the menu.

It's great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same outdated rehashed information..It's a great vegan diet and is much more strict than a diet to prevent kidney stones.
