We made it half way through May of 2011. It still feels like a lot of bad things are happening to people around the world. I guess it is because we get all the news.
We got flooding in the United States. How sad that an area is protected by flood walls and dams but they have to be opened up and a big area flooded to keep big cities from being flooded. I can understand the decision but that would be a heart breaker for the people that were protected but end up getting flooded.
Huckabee is not going to run. He broke the news last night on his Fox “news” TV show.
It looks like the shuttle Endeavour to going to fly tomorrow early. I got a family member down there that is going to watch.
I been feeling a little better the past few days except that my arthritis is hurting more and the pain is getting worst. My doctor said to take Aleve but I try and not take anything. I guess I should just take it everyday. But I had taking medications.
I have had a dull pain the last week or so that I think is from my gallstones. I have gallstones but they have not been a problem. I think they are starting to be a problem. I can live with that dull pain feeling I just hope it does not get worst.
It is no fun being old. (I am 70 years of age.) The “baby boomers” are turning 65 so they are a few years behind me. But soon there are going to be a lot more old folks around. It is sort of odd that just when there are more of us is when the Republicans are almost in position to do away with Medicare and Social Security. Well it is not funny but you know what I mean right?
I see from the CNN web site that there was violence in Cairo and that Coptics were attacked. We are so lucky to live in the United States and have the ability to worship and go to different churches.
Think how hard it must be to head out to go to your place of worship and worry if your neighbors are going to attack you.
For the most part our freedom of worship has worked well. Yes, I am aware of some of the problems in the pasts. We do have freedom of religion here. The Republicans are getting nearer and nearer to being like the Taliban in the United States but it is just a small number of them and I think even leadership will not let them go to far in that direction.
I think that the fundamentalist Christians here know how much danger there is in not allowing freedom of religion for all. If the Baptist let freedom of religion bbe taken away from some other religions they know that it is only a matter of time until they lose their freedom of religion.
