He was the subject of a four-month long sting operation conducted by 'The National Enquirer' after he allegedly began an affair with former NBC intern Kristyn Caddell, a 30-year-old Florida journalist…”

 

   Well I am right again.  I blogged about the guy and his “To Catch a Predator” show.  I did not do a search to see what I said but I think I remember saying he was a piece of shit.
   I was correct. 

An answer to my question

  I asked in this blog who in the hell are these crazy stupid people trying to get into the court to see the trial of Casey Anthony.  I think I posted a video showing them fighting, pushing and running to get into the court room and I asked what in the hell is wrong with these people.

  Today my question was answered.

  “ORLANDO, Fla. — Casey Anthony wasn't the only one on trial Thursday in Judge Belvin Perry's courtroom. A 28-year-old spectator was found in contempt of court for giving the middle finger to a prosecutor.

Matthew Bartlett, a server at TGI Friday's, was called out by the judge after the defense rested and jurors and attorneys had left the courtroom.

Perry asked the noticeably shaken Bartlett why he flipped off Jeff Ashton, a state prosecutor in Anthony's murder trial, while court was in session. Bartlett couldn't give a good reason.

Perry showed Barlett a picture of someone giving the finger in court, and Bartlett sheepishly acknowledged it was him.

"What is that symbol that you are projecting with your fingers?" the judge asked

"Using my middle finger. I am sorry,” Bartlett said in a low voice.

Perry asked Bartlett what the gesture meant to him. "The F word," he responded.

When pressed, Bartlett said he couldn't explain why he made the gesture. He acknowledged that he saw signs posted outside the courtroom warning that hand gestures and facial expressions in reaction to proceedings were not allowed inside.

"It was just a stupid thing I did," Bartlett said, apologizing several times.

Perry found him in contempt of court and sentenced him to six days in jail plus a fine of $400 and court costs of $223. He told Bartlett his action “could have jeopardized” all the work that has gone into the trial, which was in its 32nd day.

 

Bartlett told the judge he made about $15,000 a year at his job and had less than $30 in his bank accounts. The judge gave him six months to pay the fine.

Perry than asked if Bartlett wanted to appeal. "Yes," Bartlett said.

A public defender was appointed to defend him.

After court, Ashton told the Orlando Sentinel he did not notice the man sticking the finger up at him. He called the incident "just another odd aspect of this case."

Anthony is accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. She could face the death penalty if convicted.”

Charter Digital View & Digital View Plus

  I could not find anything to watch last night or today with Charter Basic Service.  Basic Service is 57 channels.  Now 14 of those are HD TV and I do not have an HD TV set.  Some of the rest of the channels are in Spanish and some are shopping networks etc.  What I get are local TV channels, CSpan and the Weather channel.

  So I decided to call and see how much Expanded Service would cost me.  I was willing to pay an extra $10.00 or even $15.00 more for the Expanded Service.  That would be about an extra 50 channels and a bunch of HD channels.  Some of the channels in the mix would be;  CNN, HLN, A&E, Fox News, USA, National Geographic, History, SyFy and many others.  Some good channels.  One I wanted for sure was HGTV.  Well the extra cost of the Expanded Service was an extra $33.00 and I just did not feel like I could pay that much extra each month.

  They have a package called Digital View & Digital View Plus and it is only $10.00 extra a month. So I took that package.  It is about 50 extra channels that I can view on my TV set. A number of them are music video channels.  But here are some of the following;  Military Channel, Biography, History Channel International, The Science Channel, EWTN, Lifetime Movie Channel, ABC News Now, Sundance, Independent Film Channel and BBS America.
  I can find something to watch on those channels.  Yes!, I might even watch EWTN sometimes.

  So it looks like I got something to watch.  One of the channels is LOGO and it did not ring a bell with me but I went through the channels one time and there was two nude women in bed with each other.  Later when I was putting in FAV channels in the remote control and I went to that channel and there was two nude guys in bed with each … And then it hit me .. OH YES.. the gay channel.
 

  I have not had time to check out everything and night time will be the big test but I think I can find something to watch. 

The Texas TSA pat-down bill dies

  I wish the fucking bill had passed.  Of course President Obama and the TSA, FAA and Justice Department would not have had the balls to fight it like they should have… They would have gone to court and of course the federal government would have won in court.
  But if I was President of the United States I would have had the TSA and FAA ban all International fights in and out of Texas after 9/11 of 2011.
  Texas would have gone to court right away to prevent it but at the same time they would have done away with the fucking law so fucking fast.

  The people that want the pat-down bill passed are so fucking stupid.  The law would not be legal and the courts would toss it out.  Also even if it became a law and went into effect no one would pay any attention to it.
  You would have stupid low IQ right wing nuts screaming in the airports from time to time but no real law enforcement officer would arrest a TSA security person for “improperly” touching someone during a security pat-down.  Police officers do pat-downs every fucking day.  

  I did a “pat-down” on the husband of an ER patient one time.  He was a pain in the ass all the time. He and his wife were coming to hospital ERs all the time to get drugs.  He owned a small business in the area with x number of employees.
  I had worked at another hospital for a year and he had shown up over there and made threats that he was going to kill the ER doctor and staff.  Then later I was back working at another hospital and he and his wife showed up and he was acting in his nutty way..Refusing to stay out of the exam room and then when he went in with his wife he would close the door and the staff asked him to keep the door open.
  I just fucking took him out of the room and did a pat down on him.  He got so pissed off that he left the hospital and as he was leaving he said is this such and such a hospital and it was not the hospital and I told him “yes” and he left.  Right away his wife was ready to be released and he was not there but they called him on his cell phone.  When he pulled into the ER garage I refused to let him get out of his fucking car.
  Now was that “improperly” touching someone?  I don’t think so.. I think when you got a guy saying he is going to kill a doctor and staff because they will not give him drugs that you would be a piss poor police/security person if you did not do a pat down.

  We have not heard the last of the pat down bill in Texas.  I am sure the right wing conservative government hating nuts will bring it up and keep bring it up until they get something passed.  I think anyone with an IQ higher than 40 knows it is not legal and is a stupid law.  So people will water it down until it is just a worthless scrip of paper and pass it just go get the nuts off their backs.  What they should do is tell them you are fucking stupid and get he hell out of my office you piece of shit.

Fort Worth Community Garden

  The Star-Telegram has a story about “Fort Worth community garden is gaining growing recognition.” 

  I would like to see community gardens all over Fort Worth and in every large city in the United States.  Sort of a nation return to our old farms from the “old” days.
  It would help with food costs for people and it would be health for people to eat and good for their health to have them out working in a garden.
 
  If I was to win some big massive lottery win that is one of the things I would use the money for… Try and get the community garden movement up and running all over the United States.
  
  You know excess food grown could be given to organizations that feed the poor and homeless.  You could get school children doing it for schools.  Get their little asses out in the garden and away from the cell phones and video games for a bit.

  I hope the community garden movement takes off big time.  It sounds like it is off to a good start in Fort Worth.  But I do not think it will be a success here until I see one down the street from where I live.

Over 1 million visitors to ShowMeBlog

  The StatCounter I have on ShowMeBlog is now showing over 1 million visitors to this blog.  Of course there have been more than that since I have not always had that stat counter on this blog. 
  Yes, I know that is not 1 million different visitors.  But a lot of eyes have seen this blog.
  But many of those people came looking for one photo or one thing and soon as they see it they are gone in a flash.  That is the way we are and the way blogging is turning out.

  People seem to hang out on Facebook and of course Google is coming out with their new Google Plus. I do not like Facebook but I might use Google Plus.  I like the idea of having people in a “circle” and it sounds like it is going to have a group video function that might work.  I will check it out.
  I do visit Facebook and have a  page there because a lot of family and friends use it.

  If you want to see a cute kitten video check out:  Kitten cant get off the couch. 

  There is a lot of talk now about the cost of the two wars. Remember when President Bush and the Republicans said that the Iraq war would not cost us one cent?  They said that they had lots of oil money and that they would pay for the war and there would not be any cost to us.
  I said then and I still say.. that if we go to war that the American people should be taxed right on the spot to pay for the war.  If Bush and his gang had to tax Americans for the war we would not have gone to war.  The American people would have said “NO.”
  But after 911 I would have said “YES” to us going into Afghanistan and yes to a tax for it and the American people would have said “YES” to that war.
 
  Everyone in the United States should have medical care at no cost.  Just issue everyone a Medicare card.  But there should be no health insurance corporations.  There should also be taxes on the profits of hospitals, doctors and the pharmaceutical industry.  Now I am talking taxes on their excess profits. 
  You would not tax doctors unless they were making massive excess profits.  Some GI doctors have patients lined up with their butts in the air and go from one patient to the next and it is all done (OK I never had one of those test) very fast and many of those GI doctors make $400K a year.  
  Also hospitals are going to say there are “non-profit” and many if not all make a “profit” but they get to spend it all to expand and add other costly additions that cost us all more money.  Part of that profit should be used to pay into our national health insurance.
  If we had one medical plan, say Medicare for all, we could control costs.  With our current plans and not everyone with medical insurance we can not control the cost.

  I agree that there is Medicare fraud and it is massive.  We just need to spend the money to look into it and police it.  I bet ever dollar that we spent on it would save us $100 or $1000 in return.
 
  I think we should do away with health insurance corporations.  If we could control them and if they became for real non-profit I would be willing to let them stay in business but as they went out of business not let any new ones start up so that one day they would not be in the health care rip off business.

  Also why can we not tax banks and Wall Street?  Bush, the Republican and their banker and Wall Street gangs got the nation into this mess.  Why can’t we have excess taxes on them.  If they make a lot of money tax that massive profit that they make.

Bad news comes in threes

  I got an email this morning from FourSquare that I am no longer the major of Captain D’s.  Then I got an email from them saying I was no longer major of Subway.   It has been hot and I have not been going out to eat as much and at the end of the month I need to watch my spending.  Bummer.

   Well I can sit at home and have a TV dinner.
   Well I signed up a couple of months ago for basic cable TV to go with the high speed Internet service we got.  I am paying $9.99 a month for six months and then it is going to $25.82 a month.
    Well when they hooked me up I been getting extra channels.  I have had cable TV a number of times in different cities and states and often you get everything for x amount of time.  Sometimes a few days or a week.  But I been getting some extra channels now for a month or two.  About all I been watching is the extra channels and most of the time I am watching HGTV.  I love that channel.  I like to see people buying very fancy homes and I think if I won a lottery I would get that house or one like it.
     Well today… Yes… no extra channels and I am getting just the basic channels and they suck. 

      I know …I should just be happy that I got to watch some extra channels and not have to pay for them.  
      I will not pay $25.82 for basic TV service.  I am not sure what the “expanded” channels cost.  I guess I will have to check and see if I am willing to pay that amount to get the channels that I like.  It if is $35.00 or $40.00 a month I might do it. 
     Nothing to watch on TV now.  I guess I will take a nap.

My 15 Minutes of Fame

  They say everyone gets 15 minutes of fame.  I had a few seconds of fame in the “BBS: The Documentary.”  I was in the movie and Jason Scott (the director) said that my line got the biggest laugh in the movie.
  But I do not think that counts as my 15 minutes of fame.  So I must still have something more right?

  I think I am in a book!  Jerome S. Berg wrote “Listening on the short waves, 1945 to today.” 

  He did an interview with me and I think he wrote about me.  I have no idea if it is good or bad or if I made it into his book.  I have not got a copy of the book yet.  I got it on my Amazon WishList and I use that list as a place to put things that I want and when I have a few extra bucks I go  and order something.  You know me… I always order computer hardware or radio hardware first.  So I have not ordered the book yet.  But I will one of these days and then we will find out if I was a good guy or a bad guy back in the late 50s and early 60s.  I put out a shortwave club publication for a time.  I did a “DX program” over WRUL radio for a year until they kicked me off the air.  I pushed for the formation of a organization of shortwave clubs (and it was created) and I held the first convention of the ANARC in Kanas City (MO) so I think I might get a mention in the book.
  So how many minutes of fame does that count as? 

   Shortwave listening was such a fun hobby and I made so many friends.  There were a  few meetings but most of your time was spent in your room in front of a shortwave radio late at night.  I often think that all those years were wasted.  I should have been out meeting people and doing things.  On the other hand it was exciting and all sorts of things took place.  Listening to see what happened when the United States set off a nuclear bomb in space.  I was a teenager that had to go to summer school every year but I headed up a research group for MIT!  (Office for Satellite Scatter – Research Group C).  So I do not know if that was wasted time or if I was getting a hell of an education sitting in my bedroom listening to my shortwave radios.
   When I get my hands on the book I will let you know if that completes my 15 minutes of fame or if there is still someone ahead for me.

   Do mentions in a newspaper count as 15 minutes of fame?  I was mentioned in a story in the Kansas City Star one time.  It had to do with a meeting of the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners.  I stood up and make a hell of a speech.  Of course the newspaper did not report it that way.  The story did not make me look good.
  I also was mentioned and given credit for a story on the front page of a weekly national Catholic newspaper.  On my shortwave radio I picked up a report from Radio Havana about the arrest of a Catholic Bishop.  I reported it to the newspaper and even played it for the over the telephone and they put it on the front page of the newspaper.
  Maybe I have had my 15 minutes of fame.  I am 70 years old.
