Jimmy and I walked down to Kroger early today. On the way we passed a small convenience store. There were only three cars in the lot. The guy working in the store and a car parted in front of the store and a new truck over at the gas pumps.
The car in front of the store backed up fast and hit the truck at the gas pumps hard and smashed in the passenger door. The driver, a woman, stopped and looked back at the truck she hit and then she drove off. Jimmy got the license number and went into the store and gave the information to the owner of the truck. I was pretty proud of Jimmy for doing the right thing. I was so hot and tired and we had just started walking to Kroger… I just wanted to get to Kroger and get inside the air conditioning…I was feeling like I was going to faint.
On the way back, walking, I was carry five pounds of bird seed and a few other items and Jimmy was loaded down with stuff. A guy was pulling into an apartment complex over by Kroger and he offered to drive us home. We did not know the guy. I thanked the guy and told him it was very nice of him but we were OK. Getting home from Kroger is an up hill walk. I was wet with sweat but I made it home.
But was wondering if that offer was because of Jimmy’s good deed. Do you believe in karma? Karma reminds me of the TV show “My Name Is Earl.” An excellent TV show.
Kroger has a good selection of bird seeds. I got 5 pounds of bird seed for $2.19 and I would have got more but just did not feel like I could carry it the half mile home.
Next time we have a cool day…If we ever have one again I will try and get more bird seed. Right now it is 6:30 PM in Fort Worth and it is 100 degrees.
