“Attn DNC and White House: Proposal for a public info campaign that will resonate.
"One Oath" - one large problem in this debt limit debate is the number of members of Congress who unwisely signed onto the Grover Norquist "No Tax" pledge.
There should be only one oath and one allegiance for Members of Congress - their oath of office. To take an oath to any entity for any reason prior to a primary, prior to being elected is fool hardy. Members should deal with the issues that come before Congress as they arise and not have their hands tied for two or six years by a oath written by a lobbyist, unelected and unaccountable to anyone.
I feel the public will get a "One Oath" informational campaign and it's a way to turn the Norquist brigade's strength into a weakness. Pledging anything to an entity or individual that is allowed to rise above an oath of office strikes me as folly.
One Oath : the oath of office.”Post by Dick Williams
