Like most people of his area, he did not feel threatened by the tsumani, as it was far enough from the coast. So he continued to drive and do its job. The HD camera mounted on the dashboard has not only captured the shock but also the moments that followed, where many drivers were stranded by the waters of the tsunami.”
Let me tell you that watching this video scared the hell out of me. I do not know how to swim. If I even get my head under water I freak out. So I would have been scared big time.
Reports are that Mr. Muroga was working making deliveries when the earthquake hit. He was far inland and people there did not expect any problems from a tsunami that far from the ocean.
He got out of his vehicle seconds before it was crushed and sunk. His car and the camera were recently recovered. The camera was “heavily damaged” but a “video expert” was able to retrieve the video.
