Next month I will be 71 years of age. My grandfather (my father’s father) died at age 56. He died in 1942.
My father died at age 65 in 1979.
My father had 10 brothers and sisters. He had a brother die at age 11 in 1935. My father’s brothers died; Leo (74), Joseph (71), Leonard (66), Lawrence (72), Vincent (71) and Richard (71).
My father had three sisters and Mary died at age 79 and Rose at 81. One of his sisters is still living.
Well if you look at those numbers above being 71 years of age does not look like it is such a great thing.
But I am telling myself well all of them drank and smoked. I have never drank or smoked. Of course I worked as a welder for about ten years.
I have a Texas Lotto ticket for tomorrow. The cash value is $5,200.000.00 and it would be nice to win but with “only” $5 million it would be hard to give everyone all the money that I wanted to give to them.
If I won the $5 million maybe the smart thing would be to take it in payments. I would have get, I am guessing, $250 K each year for x number of years. That would be a lot of money for me. I could give out money to my family and friends each year. I could not give out millions but I would have lots of money to help in little ways and then when I died my family would get money each year and they would split it.
I am sure my kids and grandson would say take the lump sum and give each of them half a million or so but with taxes they would not get half a million.
Hell I want to win a big jackpot.
I should get before tomorrow a PowerBall ticket (cash value $25M) and a Mega Millions ticket ($69M).
We are going to have some good weather this week here in Fort Worth. I have a doctor’s appointment for March 5th and I will get the results of my lab work.
