Gruesome anti-smoking ads

  I am not sure if you have seen the very graphic and very real anti-smoking ads on TV. 
I do not smoke and I never smoked.
  The anti-smoking ads are very gruesome.  Two times in the last week I started to watch some show on TV and one of those advs came up.  I switched the channel and did not watch the program I was going to watch.

  I do not want to see that stuff on my TV set.  
  I am not sure how odd I am or if there are others like me but seeing that sort of stuff just is to emotional for me. 
  I do not watch horror movies for that reason.  I do not watch a lot of movies that have the rest of you love because they are painful to my system. 
  Now I am trying to watch some TV show and I have the gruesome sick anti-smoking ads pop up.

  I do not know if they can not broadcast when kids are watching TV or not.  If that is the case then they will force me to me only watch TV during kid safe hours.

  
 

“Federal health officials unveiled a graphic new anti-smoking campaign featuring testimonials from ex-smokers about the toll of tobacco on their health.

These aren't the usual public service announcements. The $54 million "Tips from Smokers" campaign marks the first time the federal government plans to pay to run anti-smoking ads nationwide, officials said.

The ads will run for 12 weeks on TV, on the radio, in magazines and newspapers, on billboards, online and elsewhere beginning March 19, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which developed the campaign.

  Just wonderful… Not only are they pushing this into my face but it is costing $54 million dollars of tax money.
  OK OK I understand that if people give up smoking because of it then it saves many lives.  I also fully understand that if some people give up smoking it will save us all billions and billions of dollars in health care costs.   I also understand that if people can say healthy they can work and pay taxes.

  But I do not want to see advs.

  The “news media” is still I feel doing the same old stuff.  They show CCTV video from when George Zimmerman gets to the police station.  Zimmerman is handcuffed.  
  The CCTV is not very good.  At least not good for getting details of Zimmerman’s face or the back of his head.  It is not even good for telling us anything about the condition of his shirt.

  Yet the news media makes it appear that there is not blood or signs of injury.  They comment that he did not need help getting out the car.  They comment that the police did not have gloves on to protect themselves from blood.
 
  So now you got citizens, who I guess now think they are crime scene techs, saying see no blood.  He was not falling down and the police did not have to carry him into the jail…. So no blood and no injury so he is guilty of murder.

  I had to watch from time to time CCTV.  We even had CCTV back in 1972 and so off and on for 30 years I watched CCTV.  You often can not tell anything from the video. 

  If the police did their job there will be still photos of his face and the back of his head.  There will also be a mug photo that was taken after he got into the police station.  Plus we will have statements from the police officers.

  But let me point out something…   Under the “Stand Your Ground” law you do not have to suffer an injury.  You only have to be in fear.  You only think this person is going to kill me or he is going to do injury to me.
  Do NOT fucking get me wrong…. I DO NOT approve of the law…. It is a license to just blow someone away… But it is the law in FL and many other states.   
 
 

Trayvon Martin case stirs extremists

“(CNN) -- The national conversation over Trayvon Martin's killing is loud and intense. In some places, it's also vile and violent.

The case -- in which a Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer killed the unarmed black teen in Sanford, Florida, on February 26 -- has sparked a national controversy. It has also stoked extremist views, particularly on the Internet, experts say.

George Zimmerman said he shot Martin in self-defense after the teen attacked him. Martin's family has disputed that.

Investigators have not charged Zimmerman.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, the civil rights group that fights bigotry, said the case has stirred up "extremists on both sides of the racial divide."

A visitor to the website of one white supremacist group, for example, left a comment calling Martin "a punk negroe who messed with the wrong guy."

Meanwhile, the New Black Panther Party has offered a $10,000 reward for anyone who "captures" Zimmerman, an offer that Martin's family has condemned…”

 

  There are events that happen that cause an increase in racism.  The Rodney King event was one of them.  The OJ trial was one of them.  The Trayvon Martin death is another one.
  Just when we think that things are getting better in the United States something that will happen and extremists have something to use to try and create hate and drive a wedge between races. (In Iraq and other places they can use a bombing or something to create hate.) 
  Here the extremists have events created for them.  Something will happen and then both sides jump in.
 
  I think things are getting worst because of the Internet and all the message boards and comment sections and the news media.
  The news media fan the flames when they try and get a story and be first with it and come up with some new point.   The news media feels no responsibility for the rage they help create.  If there is more rage then that gives them something more to report. 

  The anonymous internet comments are a major part of the problem.  I do not think that we should even allow anonymous comments.  Everyone that wants to comment should have to prove that they are who they say they are.
  With the Trayvon Martin shooting you got a lot of white racist leaving comments pretending to be black.  They will leave comments about killing white people or something that is going to make weak minded and stupid rednecks to come back and comment. 
  Everyone pretty much knows what buttons to push to fan the flames of the fire.
  If you own a gun shop and you want to increase sales just log on and post a comment someplace saying you are black and you are going to kill white people.   White people will run out to gun shops and buy every gun in the store.  Everyone pretty much knows how to do shit like that.
 

  I do not even think that CNN should have a comment section after a news story.  If you read the comments they are always filled with hate.  Or they could just not allow anyone to post a message until the message has been read and approved by CNN staff.  Of course then they would have very few messages. 

  I think that someone should have some sort of way to punish the “news media” for their errors.
When there is a school shooting and students and teachers are hiding in a classroom and the news media reports on TV we just got word that students and teachers are hiding in such and such a class room there should be some sort of punishment that the network suffers to they do not do that again. 
  I am 100% sure that there is no “fucking coon” on the Zimmerman 911 tape.  The FBI will have the ability, I bet, to tell is yes or no.  I watched CNN playing with the tape and playing it over and over again.  So now if the FBI comes out and say no that was not “fucking coon” on the tape you got millions of people that will never accept it.

7 Reasons Catholics leave the Church

  The CNN Religion blog has the “7 reasons Catholics leave church.”

Washington (CNN) – Even though Roman Catholics are the second-largest religious group in the United States, the tradition has seen an exodus of members in recent decades. One in ten Americans is an ex-Catholic.

If ex-Catholics were counted as their own religious group, they would be the third-largest denomination in the United States, after Catholics and Baptists, according to the National Catholic Reporter.

If it weren’t for the infusion of Catholic immigrants, especially from Latin American, the American Catholic Church would be shrinking pretty fast…”

 

  I just gave up on the Catholic Church after 70 years of being a Catholic. 

  The 7 reasons that the blog post gives is:

 1. The sex abuse crisis   -  I was a little hurt that I never had a priest hit on me.

2. The church’s stance on homosexuality -  I just never paid any attention to their stand.

3. Dissatisfaction with the priest  -  I never expected that much from them.

4. Uninspiring homilies on Sundays – I never went that often or listened.

5. Perception that church hierarchy is too closely tied to conservative politics – My reason

6. Church’s stance toward divorced and remarried Catholics -  Again never cared.

7. The status of women -  Never a reason for me. 

  Now Catholics would say.. that I never was a good Catholic and they are better off without me.  That might be true. 

  The truth is I would have stayed in the Church and called myself a Catholic if it was just the hierarchy being Republican. It was that they did not care that priests had raped little boys but they did take a stand on politics and they would stand up to the President of the United States over the use of a condom or birth control access but they would not stand up to their fellow priests that using or not using condoms and were using the bottoms or the mouths of little boys.

  American churches want to control our politics.  If they want to tell us who to vote for and what sort of nation we should have then they should pay taxes.

The TXU re-billing

  I got my TXU electric bill the other day and it was for $555.00 and it was less than I was expecting.  So that was good.  If they had not added on the re-billing amount my bill would have been $91.97 for the month.
  I called them up and asked about their six month payment plan.  The woman said do you want to make some payment now.  I said yes and said how about $100.00 and she said OK.  So she took my card information.
  Then she said for the next six months they will add $75.00 to my bill.  I said OK.  I said do I need to pay this months bill and she said no the $100.00 took care of that.  I was expecting to have to pay this months in addition to the $100.00 so that worked out OK.

  So I am all set.  I am guessing that during the hot months of July and August that my electric bill is going to be very high and that extra $75.00 a month is going to hurt.  But I can make it OK.

  I think, I am not sure, that the commission only allows TXU and the other electric corporations to go back five months when doing a re-billing.  That is good because just think about the bill someone could get hit with if they could go back an unlimited amount of time.
  I think for a commercial customer they can go back six months because I saw a news story that said TXU had re-billed the Fort Worth school district for six months.

  With all the talk about race recently… and with the videos that I made about the Trayvon Martin shooting I had a lot of YouTube comments calling me a white racist and cracker and redneck etc.
  I made some comments on the YouTube video about the area were I live.

  I decided to look up the ZIP code.  The ZIP code area that I live in is 76116.
  It is for Fort Worth, Texas.  It is in Tarrant County. 
  The population (2000) was 49,831.  Of that number 34,343 are White, 4,724 Black and 8,437 are Hispanic.
  The average household income in $36,014.00
 
  The above does not look correct to me.  Let me see if I can find the numbers for 2010.

  Current population s 49,761 (went down from 2000).  
  Population:  White (34,424), Black (6,057) and Hispanic (12,765). 

  I think I said in a video that the area I lived in was about half and half white and black.  I guess I was wrong.  The first time in my life I have ever been wrong about anything.

  Any comment left on ShowMeBlog will not show up until I review it and approve it.
I have had a site online since 1982.  I have always attempted to let everyone comment. 
  I have attempted to approve all comments.  

  But because of the recent events (like the Trayvon Martin shooting) I am going to have a new policy.  My new policy is:

   #1  If you post a comment IN ALL CAPS no matter what you say it will NOT BE APPROVED.
   #2  If you call for the death of anyone and it does not matter who it is the comment will not be   approved.
  #3   If I think your comment is racist and has no value then it will not be approved.

  Now… in case you wonder… Those rules do not apply to me.  I will not be posting anything in all caps but I may decide to call for the death of someone or I may post things that are racist.
  It is my blog, it my bandwidth and I get to do it.

  For ShowMeBlog a comment has to be approve first before it appears.
On YouTube I have decided to let people post a comment and it will appear and then later, if I have time, I will review and take action.  So you may see comments on YouTube that do not fit in the above rules.
  One of my videos recently got 900 comments in just a couple of days.  I just did not have time to edit all the comments.  After a few days I turned off all the comments so they did not even appear.  Then later that day I just went and just removed the entire video.

  I have very few problems with comments here on ShowMeBlog. 

I am so tired of the Trayvon Martin / Zimmerman story

  The news media just goes crazy over “news” stories.  It is crazy.  It is not just the right wing talk shows and Fox News.  CNN and other news media outlets are just as fucking crazy. 
 
  I do not know what the answer is to the problem.  We have freedom of press and speech and the American people do want details.
 
  But there is no filter on cable “news” channels.  They will say anything and allow anyone on to say anything and they will do the most stupid things just to get people to watch or just so they can say they did it first.
  Like CNN “enhancing” a 911 call and then playing some sound over and over and over and over and over again … They wanted us to hear “fucking coon.”  I did not hear it.  Their audio experts did not hear it.  Their reporters did not hear it …but they reported it.
  The problem is all the black racist HEAR it.  It was clear to them.  They heard it.  The said that anyone that did not hear it was a white racist.
  All of the hard core right wing racist looked around for some way to attack Trayvon Martin.
  The pro gun people only care about one thing guns.  They will attack anyone, anytime and anyplace if it looks like their gun “rights” are under attack.  So they jumped into the shooting.
  Then you got the ambulance chasing lawyers that do not care about anyone or any issue and only care about either making a name for themselves or getting money out of someone.  They used the grief and bereavement of the family of Trayvon for their own ends.  They do not care about truth or justice.

  No one seems to care about justice or the legal system.  Everyone is out to get something for themselves.  
  
  I am not sure what the President of the United States can do now days.  The right wing just wait for him to say anything and then they attack.  It does not matter what he says they are going to find some way to attack.
  The President made some mild statement about the Trayvon Martin shooting.  So that set off the right.  They got to find something to use to attack President Obama.
  So it is open season on a poor dead 17 year old boy.

  Everything that is happening is bad for our nation.  Black racist calling for the murder of George Zimmerman scares the hell out of many white Americans.  
  White Americans attacking a dead 17 year old boy that was unarmed and doing nothing wrong brings up memories of other incidents like this that happen all to often in our nation and it makes blacks so angry that they scream and howl with rage.  When will the injustices end?

  Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?

Mysterious death of Andrew Breitbart

  I been waiting to hear how President Obama murdered Andrew Breitbart.  That is what many of  his supporters say… that President Obama had Andrew Breitbart killed.  He died on March 1st (2012) at age 43. 
  Supporters of Breitbart say that he had some videos of President Obama that would bring him down.  That he was killed to keep him from releasing the videos.

  So it has been 30 days.  How about an autopsy report on Breitbart?  I want to know how President Obama kill him.

  The drug screen is what I would like to see.  
  I think right wing Republicans will try and keep the autopsy and drug screen from coming out.

  I think the reports will show that Breitbart had big time levels of alcohol in his system.  The level will be very high because, I think, he was a big time drunk.
  I think the reports will show cocaine and marijuana in his system.
  I suspect he might also have some sort of drugs that many use to enhance sexual arousal;  ecstasy and “poppers.”

  I feel sorry for his wife and children and for his family.  But the low life people that Andrew Breitbart hung out with are saying that the President of the United States had him killed.
