Tornadoes

  When I was in high school I was carrying a ton of books home from school everyday but I never opened them.  I guess that is why I failed everything and had to go to summer school four years in a row.
  I was doing other stuff… Not school work… I was active in Kansas City Civil Defense.  I was in the Ground Observer Corp.   I took CD courses.  I set up the first People-to-People organization in the United States… Well “I” did not set it up .. I was one of the people that set it up.
  When the USAF did away with the GOP we became the first trained weather observers.
  Later I watched for tornadoes for a volunteer fire department for the police department and then for 30 years was trying to protect hospitals from storms and tornadoes.

  I have been a member of Skywarn in the past.

  I have never seen a tornado.  I have seen the damage after one hit but never been in one and never seen one.
  I do not fear them but I am sure that is because I have never been in one… If you see one and are hit by one you fear them … and you should fear them.   They are powerful.

  I can not believe the last few years and the number of storms and how bad they have been.
  I hope you all are OK.  Keep up to date on the weather.  When you get a warning get to the basement or to a safe place.
