“Veep is a 2012 HBO television comedy series set in the office of a fictional U.S. vice president. The program is created by Armando Iannucci and uses the same cinéma-vérité production style as his BBC television political satire The Thick of It. After a 2011 pilot written by Iannucci and Simon Blackwell, the series was commissioned for a full season. The series premiered on HBO on April 22, 2012, and will be shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic in June…”
I watched the show last night. I wanted to like it but it was not good. I will try next week and see how I like it.
The first show they may have wanted to show everyone and set the stage or something…But so far I am not impressed.
Same here - saw several of the interviews, like Julia Louis-Dreyfus and was looking forward to the premier but then kept waiting for something - if not laughs then some insights that felt authentic. For me it didn't deliver either - insight or LOL funny and the profanity was sort of distracting. Sure it's HBO , sure we talk that way in private but the overuse of profanity didn't add and for me felt jarring. Was surprised it's a half hour but that was good - a full hour of it would have been too much. Hope the producers read the Showmeblog as most in Hollywood do and fine tune later episodes.
