My Wouxum is in Fort Worth

  Tracking says that my new radio is in Fort Worth.  I am in Fort Worth.  So I hope to see it today.  I will be had to have a ham radio again.  If I get it today I will make a video and post on YouTube and post the video here.

  The news and stories coming out of Joplin are so sad.  A tornado is so powerful that it is just hard to believe.  Like I said before I never had any fear of them… But I was not brave I was stupid.
  The other day the tornado siren went off here.  I only heard it because I was making a video and I opened up the patio door to made the video.  It was hard to hear then.  So I need to get one of those weather warning radios.  They do not cost very much.  I think they cost about $40.00 for a pretty decent radio.

I do not agree with the extension of the Patriot Act.  I have to agree with Sen. Rand Paul on this issue.  One way you know it is a bad idea is by the name.  Anytime you see something with a name like that (“Patriot”) you know it is a bad idea.
  We might need part of the law but we need a full investigation and hearings.

  I did not hear the screams that I expected over the Loughner ruling.  I guess everyone pretty much knew he had to be as crazy as a bed bug.

  Remember I was a John Edwards supporter.  I came to support Obama at the last.  So I watch with interest what is going on with John Edwards.  I do not feel sorry for him at all.  I feel sorry for his family.
  I do not want anything to do with him.  Sure he should make the best deal he can get for himself but he needs to take his punishment.  If I were him I would make sure that my punishment was such that even people that did not like me would say .. wow.. He got hit hard. 
  It is like Martha Stewart…I was never a Martha Stewart fan.  But after she went to jail and served her time I became a fan.  I did not think she should have even gone to jail but the way she took it make me respect her. 

  I am tired of hearing about Oprah.  I never been a fan of Oprah (I do have a penis you know).  I do not hate her.  A lot of Republicans hate her.  I see her just as a very successful show person.  I think she has done some good over the years but I think all of it was done to promote her and as PR.  She is not a saint.

Chariots of Fire

  I signed up AGAIN for Netflix.  I just watched again online “Chariots of Fire.”  It is, of course, a great movie.

  My grandson today was made a full time employee.  He works for a large department store.  I am glad to know that a few people can still end up being full time employees.  I fear we are becoming a nation of part time workers or contract workers or agency workers.

  I never had a time in my life that I did not have a job.  It is different now… I do not know what to tell young people.  I guess get as much education as you can get and learn all the skills you can learn.  I would say also save money.  I would say save 10% of everything you make from day one. 
  It is hard on people now days and is getting harder and harder each day.

The Last Airbender

  I watched “The Last Airbender” at the Charter Communications site.  If you are a Charter customers you can watch all the Epix movies for free.  Pretty neat deal.

  I did not think the movie was that bad.  I am a fan of M. Night Shyamalan by the way.  I think the fighting was done very well in it. 
  I think boys of a certain age would love it.  I am not sure about girls.
  I watched it all.  It is not a movie I would ever want to watch a second time but it was OK for one time.

The Kings Speech

  I watched The Kings Speech at Amazon.  You can watch it on line and it is there for 24 hours.  I ended up watching it two times.  Great movie.

  We have had rain here all night and day.  It is wet and cold.  One lone little bird found my new bird feeder.  My guess is that other birds will notice that he has found food at some point and start to come to the feeder.

  I will not be getting any money from Google AdSense this month.  You have to earn $100.00 before they pay out and I make less than $25.00 a month.  Last month I was sure at last I would reach the $100.00 mark.  But it came out $99.55 is the commission I have earned.  The last time I got money from Google AdSense was January 25th of this year.
  Keep in mind that I am also a YouTube partner and the commission includes what I make from YouTube.
  So if any of you think … If only you were a YouTube partner that you would make a lot of money… You had better think again.

  I went to taking one Benazepril HCL 20 mg a day instead of two a day.  I take it at noon each day now.  I do not think I am as dizzy now.  I am not sure but I think it is working better.  I just took my BP (2 hours after taking my morning medications) and my BP is 140/69.  Last night my BP was 134/70. 
  Now do not do what I am doing.  Take your Benazepril and other blood pressure medications as directed by your doctor.  Benazepril is one that they warn you to take as directed and do not stop taking it or else.

  Not a nice day here today.  It is 50 F (10 C) degrees and we have rain. 
Texas needs the rain.

No more Netflix and …

  I cancelled my membership, yes again, with Netflix.  I just can not find anything to watch on Netflix. 
  I canceled the Audible trial membership.  The cost each month would have been something close to $25.00 and that is a lot of money for me.  I liked the service.  If it was not for the money I would keep the service.  Well,  I guess that is not true because when I went to cancel they had some pop up offers to keep me that were very sweet deals.  But I did not take them. 
  One thing both Netflix and Audible both make it very simple and easy to cancel your membership.  I like that.  I HATE sites that hid how you cancel your membership. 

$1 for each time nigger is said

  I signed up the other day for Audible.  The first book I took was “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” (unabridged) I have listed to part 1 but still have a lot of hours to go.

I also got “The Water is Wide” by Pat Conroy.  I loved the movie made from the book.  The movie was “Conrack” which I can not even find on Netflix or Hulu or anyplace else.  I have seen the movie a number of times. 

I do not remember the word “nigger” in the movie. I suspect it was there a few times.  But the book is filled with the word.  If I had a dollar for each time it is used in the book I would be a rich man.

  I listen to the book on my computer.  When I get an android cell phone I will select it as a mobile device and I can listen to the books on the cell phone. That would work out good when I am walking, riding the bus or waiting in the doctor’s office.

  Jon Voight stars in the movie.  When he was young he was about as left wing and liberal as you can get.  Now in his old age he is right wing and about as crazy as you can get. 

    Jon Voight said on April 27, 2007 about President Bush:

When I hear people saying quite unthinkable things about our president, when I see our president defaced, which is defacing our country. He's the leader of our country. Christmas Eve 2010

  The Post Office will be open today but will be closed on Saturday December 25th for Christmas.

  When I was living with Jim and Betty, my father and mother, we opened our Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve.  I got married when I was 26 and Darlene and I had four children so we opened our gifts on Christmas morning because of the kids.
 

My family, mother and father, were middle class. We had money for Christmas.  My father was a boilermaker (welder) and my mother was a nurse (LPN).  They both worked full time.
  When I was little it was standard for me to get two or three gifts.  One was marked from Santa and the the others from my father and mother.
 
  During the time that I went to Holy Name Grade School, grades 1st through 4th, I had a lot of friends and we played outside all the time.  I think all of those families had lots of kids.  I was an only child. 
  I can remember on more than one Christmas day when I went out to play the other kids asking me what I got and I would change the subject.  I was embarrassed because I got one or two gifts.  The other kids would have a long long list of gifts. I guess because of having a big family.
 
  I forget what Christmas it was but I am not  sure if we had a tree up.  I would think we did but there was no gift under the tree for me.  Jim and Betty told me that the gift was coming via the mail or UPS or something.  It was December 24th when it was delivered and I was home to get it.  It was not in gift wrapping or anything. 
  I opened it and it was a cap gun.  It was a pretty neat cap gun.  It was a revolver and you actually had to open it and put in bullets and you had to put a single cap in each shell.  So you only had six shots and you had to reload like a real gun.  I was not happy that it came on the 24th and that was the only thing I got but I did like the cap gun.
  I had a lot of toy guns over the years.  You got to remember back then that our heroes were Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, The Long Ranger and many others.  They were good heroes.  I think you were a better boy from listening to their shows on the radio and even watching them when they came to TV.
  I am not sure now days who kids have for heroes.  That may be the problem that we are having now days.
  I will be 70 in March.
  Glenn Beck is 46 years of age so who would his hero have been?  I think if Roy Rogers and Gene Autry had been his heroes he would not be the the low life scum that he is now days. 

  My heroes never killed bad guys.  My heroes were honest, truthful and clean living.

  Rush Limbaugh is 59 years of age.  I would hate to think that he had the same heroes that I had as a kid.

  I am not sure if religion played a part in kids my age or not.  I was Catholic.  I went to Catholic school all my life.  We had pray and religion all day long.  I was an altar boy at least one entire school year and I would assist the priest for early morning mass and then walk over to Holy Name school.  (The church was not next to the school at that time. It was  a few blocks away.)
 
  I suspect that movies, like John Wayne movies, had more to do with making people my age decent because of the cowboy ideal.  That would be funny and strange if fictitious cowboys made us decent Americans more so that Jesus Christ and religion.

Weeds: Season 1

  I watched the first show of Weeds and half of the second and I had to give up on it.
I am looking for something to watch on Netflix or Hulu.  I can not find any movies anymore.  I am tried of watching some of the same movies over and over again.
  So now I am trying to find TV shows that never watched and watch them.  Weeds is just not my cup of tea.

  I watched almost all of “Lonesome Dove” the other day.  I have seen it a number of times in the past. What a great show/video. 

  I have never watched “The Dead Zone” so I guess I will give it a try and see if I like it.

Weeds

  I just can not find any movies to watch anymore.  At least from Netflix or Hulu. 
So I am going to try TV shows that I never watched when they were on TV.

  I just watched the 1st show of “Weeds” from Netflix.

  I just love the star of the show Mary-Louise Parker.  I think she is so hot.  There is just something about her. She was great in “Fried Green Tomatoes”.  I loved that movie.  I loved her in “The West Wing.”  

It’s A Wonderful Life

  I found”It’s A Wonderful Life” on the Internet.  It is on Veoh. 
I had to download and install their player in order to see the entire movie.  But it was no problem to download the player.  I could watch it in full screen.  The movie is 2 hours and 10 minutes.
