Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Docking Station

  I use a Toshiba laptop computer as my only computer.  So I use it like a desktop.  I got it on my desk and got the 23 inch monitor plugged into it.  I got my usb mike going into it.  I got a speaker plug in it.  Then I got a usb hub going into it.
  Then I got my keyboard, mouse, Logitech Pro 9000 webcam going into the hub.  You get the idea. 

  I been wanting a docking station. So I can plug in one USB cable to laptop and have everything else going into the docking station.
  I have had the Toshiba Dynadock U Universal USB Connect Docking Station on my Amazon Wish List for a long time.  It is been right at $100.00 or a bit over that in price for as long as I can remember.
  Well right now it is $79.99 and now that I am an Amazon Prime member I get free two day shipping.  I just ordered it and I should have it on Friday. 

 

  
  I think I got a good deal on this…  I got it for $80.00 and no shipping and I will have it on Friday.  I will do a review of it on YouTube after I get it.

New Virgin Mobile Phone Soon

  It sounds like Virgin Mobile may have a new phone soon.  It sounds like it will have a 4.1 WVGA screen.  It will have a 5.0 MP camera.  The will be Android 2.2 and 3G and WiFi.  It will have an HDMI output and a Snapdragon processor.

  I am using the Samsung Intercept with Virgin Mobile right now.   I just paid for it last month.  I also just moved into a new apartment and am paying more money and I expect the utility bill to be more each month. 
  I do not think I can afford to be buying a new Virgin Mobile phone unless I win the lottery.  I better start buying a lottery ticket  each week because it sounds like the cell phone that I want.

  With a 5 MP camera I might just sell my digital camera and just carry the cell phone and use it for photos.  I hope they hold off on coming out with the new phone so I do not have to consider which body part I can sell to get the phone.

I should get my antenna today

 

  I ordered the PowerQ POWERHD-100 Indoor Portable Pop-Up Digital HDTV Antenna on the 26th.  Today is the 28th and it looks like I am going to get it today in the mail.
  It helps I guess that it was sent from Mesquite (TX) and I am in Fort Worth (TX).
  I have a usb device hooked up to my laptop computer that lets me see TV on my laptop computer.  I use my laptop as a desktop computer so I end up watching TV on my HP 23 inch monitor. 
  I am just using an old set of rabbit ears.  So it will be interesting to see how this antenna works.  If it works out I could take it with my laptop if I go someplace and watch over the air TV.

 

Google shipping CR-48’s again

                                                            Word is that Google is shipping out more CR-48s.  I would love to get one.  I know everyone wants one. 
  I do not expect to get one but if I was them I would ship one to Jim Howard.
  I been online 24/7 since 1982.  People started logging into my system when people used 300 baud dial up.  I have seen it all and been part of it all and now I would like to try out and report on the Google CR-48.

  If I get one I will let you know.  
  The first day or two when some of the big tech sites got one I read about them.  But I have not heard a word about them since.  I think they sent them to the wrong people.  People like me would be reporting on it daily and telling you how much we hated it or loved it.  The other big review and tech sites got tons of high tech stuff and they must have played with it for 30 minutes and then put it on a shelf someplace.

  I am someone that has used a lot of operating systems over the years starting with DOS.  I loved OS/2.  Never did Apple.
  I have done Linux and am a big fan of Ubuntu.
  Everyone knows I am a minimalist guy.  I think Google Chrome OS was made for me.  If I get a CR-48 I will let you know here and on YouTube.

My Review of the WinTV-HVR usb HDTV Adapter

Hauppauge 1200 WinTV HVR-850

  I got a Hauppauge 1200 Win TV HVR-850 on order from Amazon. It will let me watch TV on my computer monitor. This one is a usb device.  I have had a couple of the Hauppauge PCI devices in the past. 

 

  I will do a review of it on YouTube when I get the device.

Creative ZiiO 7 Inch Android Tablet

  The Creative ZiiO 7 Inch Android Table looks good.  It might be something that I am interested in owning.  If I get one I will let you know what I think about it.

Engadget got a free Google Cr-48 Chrome laptop

  I get no respect.  Smile
  I applied for a free Google Chrome OS laptop and did I get one?  NO!
  But Engadget got one.  I get no respect. 
  Sure they got a great blog/web site.

  But have they owned and used a TI-58, Vic-20, C-64, SX-64, TRS-80, Tandy 2000, Tandy Model 100 and God only knows how many PC computers after that?  I have and I have reported on all of them in an on line blog.  Did Engadget write their own software to start out?  I did in BASIC.  I had to write my own BBS program at first.  Have people been reading Engadget since 1982?  No, of course not but they been reading my blog since June of 1982. At first they had to read it at 300 bald. 
  I tell you… I get no respect. 
  So I will just have to read about the Google Cr-48 Chrome laptop at the Jonny come lately Engadget.  Smile
